Chapter 1264 The Atmosphere Is Still Wrong

Dressrosa.

Once the New Year was over, David, Cass, and Wilbur returned to the area to continue their work of building, training, and refining their thinking.

Greenbit Island, a lush primeval jungle, is home to the Lilliputian kingdom and is the naval base of Cass. Although he usually prefers to go to places like Dressrosa, he still has to come back here to train his naval soldiers.

At this moment, a dilapidated ship quietly approached Greenbit, landed on land, and a group of people disembarked and headed towards the naval base.

The group looked quite disheveled, all bearing some injuries, and the woman in the lead, wearing a red top hat, even had a piece of her sunglasses broken.

Bello Betty, commander of the Eastern Army, was defeated by the Kingdom of Amogen.

Yes, they were defeated.

She herself wasn't a combat type, and Repa's raid was very successful, isolating even the civilians. Although the morale boost was effective, they were too few in number, and the enemy also had skilled fighters, so they could only retreat in disappointment.

This retreat left Betty bewildered.

Even nobles can be unreliable...

The book clearly states that what is being done is correct, so why don't those nobles agree to it?

They prefer the old model, but that model has drawbacks and cannot last.

Betty's mind was filled with Repa's words, "He's a nobleman, he has to take the initiative."

In the end, they still had conflicts.

Subconsciously, she wanted to find the man who gave her the book and ask him how to resolve this situation.

Yes, she was confused.

So, by some strange twist of fate, I ended up here.

Logically speaking, although the navy and the revolutionary army are unrelated, they might target each other or pretend not to see each other if they meet at sea, but it's different at a naval base.

If the revolutionary army rushes over rashly and is discovered, they must be captured.

But Betty still came; she was convinced that the bearded man would give her the answer.

After landing in Greenbite, they could see the naval base built in the jungle, so they headed towards it. They didn't encounter anyone until they were almost at the edge of the fortress.

Did they all go on an inspection tour?

Or is it that no one discovered the path they took?

But no matter what, it would be best to see that bearded man.

Swiftly—

Just as Betty was thinking this, a sound came from the nearby jungle.

"Commander!"

As the people around them exclaimed in surprise, a group of naval personnel appeared from the jungle and surrounded them.

These sailors had indifferent expressions, as if they were all cut from the same mold; their gun-holding gestures and standing postures were almost identical.

Seeing this, Betty's heart skipped a beat.

Given that this is the bearded man's base, it must be the Douglas Navy Squadron!

The elite force in the navy is renowned on the high seas.

One of the sailors glanced at them, then looked at Betty, raised his gun, and slowly said, "Belo Betty."

As he raised his gun, Betty's men also raised their weapons, showing signs of alertness.

"Put it down!"

Betty raised her hand and said, "I'm Bello Betty, and I need to speak with Cass."

"What do you want with the Vice Admiral?" the Navy asked mechanically.

Betty answered truthfully, "Talk to him about 'The Faith of Justice'."

She had a premonition that if she couldn't explain things clearly, it might provoke these people into a fight.

The best course of action is to tell the truth.

Sure enough, upon hearing her words, the sailors lowered their guns.

"Justice...faith, okay, then follow me."

A navy officer stepped forward, seemingly to lead them directly to Cass.

Seeing that Betty was really about to follow, someone next to her said with some concern, "Commander, is there a trap...?"

"They already hit the target. We can't possibly defeat them with that many. We're just here to find someone, there's no need to make things so tense. If they really wanted to fight, they wouldn't be acting like this. Alright, let's go."

Since she said that, the others had no choice but to follow suit.

A group of people were taken to the naval base, where one of them went up to report the situation, and their weapons were confiscated.

Once inside their base, they had no choice but to do as they were told; they simply couldn't handle the densely packed navy.

Soon, the person in charge of the announcement came down and said to Betty, "The lieutenant general wants you to go up."

Betty nodded and headed toward the base. The others tried to follow, but were immediately stopped.

"The lieutenant general will only let her in alone; you all wait here," said the men from Douglas's naval squadron.

There was nothing anyone else could do but watch Betty walk in.

Upon entering the base, at the top floor, Betty pushed open the only office door and quickly saw Cass.

The office was sparsely furnished, with a standard desk and chair, a sofa and coffee table for receiving guests, and basically nothing else. What was noteworthy was that on the walls were various newspaper clippings, each containing only one person's information.

Admiral Jin Ni of the Navy Headquarters.

With just a quick glance, Betty saw a lot of newspapers about the Golden Lion, all cut out individually, covering every detail of the events after Redfield's killing, big or small. Betty even saw a picture of the man on a boat at Upside Down.

When she came in, Cass was still working on documents. Hearing the sound, he looked up and frowned.
