Smoker certainly wouldn't miss out on the all-out war between the Navy and pirates. The G-5 Navy also played a significant role on the battlefield. These Navy personnel, who have been fighting pirates in the New World for many years and whose habits are similar to those of pirates, are naturally adapted to this kind of battlefield. They are the elite of the Navy and performed quite well, making many contributions on the battlefield.
Smoker himself is also doing very well on the battlefield. After a long time, he has gained a more fierce and iron-blooded temperament.
This kind of temperament can only be developed in big situations. You can't develop that kind of temperament by engaging in small-scale battles like the old-fashioned pirates.
"You're here just in time. It's been a long time. Shall we find a place to get together?" Kuro said.
"Alright, even though you have a large family... I'll treat you today." Smoker said generously.
This made Kuro a little uncomfortable. "What's wrong? You've struck it rich?"
"We've captured quite a few spoils of war," Smoker said casually.
After a year of fighting, he did make some money. Although he wasn't interested in money and gave most of it to the people who suffered because of the war, he still had some left over. It was more than enough to treat people to meals, even with that big-eater little girl there.
"Wow, that's really extravagant... I'm not quite used to it yet."
Kuro's face fell. "Suddenly I don't feel like eating anymore."
"What's wrong with you!" Smoker snapped.
"No, it's just that you suddenly have money, so I can't feel the pitfalls anymore... no, it's just, um... yes, I'm just not used to it." Kuro quickly corrected himself.
He couldn't very well say that he liked skipping out on the bill because he enjoyed seeing Smoker's frustrated and furious face, could he?
After all, this guy was the root of all evil back then; otherwise, he'd probably still be enjoying a life of luxury in the East China Sea right now.
Now that this guy is so generous, Kuro feels uncomfortable; he's lost the fun of tricking people.
"Suit yourself, I'll wait for you at the restaurant," Smoker said irritably, and left with Tashigi.
"Kuro, aren't we going to eat?" Lida asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Of course I'll eat! Only a fool wouldn't eat if there was food to eat."
Kuro, puffing on his cigar, exhaled a puff of smoke. "It's just that it lacks a bit of the enjoyment of drinking with it."
Ku-Pleasure Monster-Lo.
The group eventually went to the restaurant. The restaurant where Smoker was staying was also booked by Crowe. Tina also joined them. The group sat around a table on the second floor, and after they had eaten and drunk their fill, they looked down at the restaurant below.
Tina, with a cigarette dangling from her lips, leaned on the railing beside the table, gazing down at the pink-haired marines feasting below, and her two subordinates eating with them. She sighed and said, "I was quite surprised to hear that Tsuru is also retiring."
Where did you hear that?
Kuro, who was still drinking, put down his glass upon hearing this and exclaimed in surprise.
"I heard it from Tsuru herself. Didn't you notice, Kuro? The older generation has all retired. I didn't see Garp or Sengoku at this year's World Conference."
Tina looked down and said, "I only saw Koby; he's a lieutenant general now."
Koby, currently a Vice Admiral at the Navy Headquarters...
If we take the Marineford War as the dividing line, six years have passed since then...
Koby has grown from a sixteen-year-old boy into a twenty-two-year-old young man.
When he was a colonel, he was promoted to major general after a few years. In this all-out war, he also shone brightly, so he was promoted to lieutenant general. Although he doesn't have a code name yet, it is estimated that he will be promoted soon after some more experience. He will most likely inherit Garp's 'Iron Fist'.
"Time flies, I'm forty now," Smoker remarked, propping his feet up on the table.
"Tina doesn't want to talk about her age," Tina said with a hint of resentment.
She's 38 years old, and really doesn't want to talk about it.
"Speaking of which..."
Lida was still devouring her food when she heard this. She looked up, her hand holding the steamed bun paused, and said, "Kuro, you're thirty this year, aren't you?"
Kuro rolled his eyes. "Please say twenty-nine years and twelve months. What thirty? Where is thirty? I can't count to three!"
Thirty is the age of a middle-aged man. Whether in his past life or this life, he has never experienced the age of a middle-aged man, nor does he want to.
Although this vast ocean is still very young at thirty, traditional thinking is holding him back. He just doesn't want to be thirty. At thirty, he can't be willful anymore.
Time hasn't left any marks on Kuro yet, but he feels that his mentality is getting old.
Speaking of which...
Kuro glanced at Lida. This woman was already twenty-four, but she still looked like a seven or eight-year-old kid. Although she had matured a lot after returning to normal, her appearance didn't seem to have changed much.
According to her own words, because of her Devil Fruit ability, her appearance will probably not change; she will only grow old when her lifespan reaches the moment of death.
The Essence Fruit really can grant eternal youth, which is much better than immortality.
“Time flies, and we’ve all grown old. In a few years, won’t it be the young people’s world?” Smoker said.
"Come on, you're the old one, not me."
Kuro said, "Don't impose your insights on others. Look at your white hair, your body may not be old, but your mind is."
Smoker's temples bulged with veins as he shouted, "It's natural, it's natural!"
Besides, what right do you have to comment on someone's gray hair? Isn't the person next to you your favorite with gray hair?!
