Having taken care of everything, Kuro clapped his hands and said, "Alright, let's go."
"Your cloak."
Lida then transformed into a little girl and lifted the cloak onto Kuro.
"Oh, I almost forgot."
Kuro rubbed Lida's head, picked up the cloak, and put it on while naked.
"Don't ruin my hairstyle!" Lida smacked Kuro's thigh.
Kuro looked at the fallen pirates, some of whom had bounties exceeding 100 million, with a hint of reluctance, and finally couldn't help but ask:
"Aren't we going to arrest them? Mr. Kuro, this is a rare opportunity."
Upon hearing this, Kuro turned around, patted Kro on the shoulder, and said earnestly:
“Kroo, we can’t just look at the present moment; we have to look at the future. It’s not that we’re not going to catch them now, it’s just that the time isn’t right yet. Look, they’re so talented. In two or three years, their bounties will be even higher. It will be worthwhile to catch them then.”
"Besides, you're not strong enough. It's not good for you to arrest them and get promoted now. High positions in the Navy are easy targets. You want a peaceful life, right? You need to take it slow to achieve peace."
Kro glanced back at the pacifist he was dragging, pursed his lips, and surprisingly refrained from swearing.
It wasn't because he was greedy for a promotion, but because if these people weren't caught...
He might become famous.
How can things be peaceful then...?
“Mr. Kuro, the main problem is that your position is too low, which means you have much less autonomy.”
Out of a sense of duty as an advisor, Kroh advised again, "If you arrest them and get promoted, your freedom of action will be greatly enhanced."
That's certainly true...
Kuro stroked his chin. "If I had more autonomy, I could go to a base to retire, no, I could stay there and be a competent naval officer."
However, promotion is too dangerous. The Navy can transfer personnel at any time. If you get a high position, your superiors might ask you to do something dangerous, like infiltrating the Four Emperors' territory. That would be too risky.
Moreover, it was an inopportune time; he was still trying to find a way to escape the war that was about to begin.
Kuro walked forward, pondering how to escape the impending war.
Chloe pushed up her glasses, which reflected the light, and thought to herself:
“Mr. Kuro didn’t refuse, which means I guessed right. Autonomy is something Mr. Kuro wants. My decision was correct. It’s just a pity about these Supernovas. It’s okay, there will always be a chance to catch a big one!”
Kuro felt that he understood Kuro very well at this moment.
Kuro wants safety; he believes that personally capturing great pirates will bring him fame, which is why he doesn't want a promotion.
However, if you are a subordinate and you are responsible for capturing it, as long as you are willing to share the burden, then reporting your achievements will be considered as a promotion. In that case, Kuro will not become famous and can just sit back and enjoy the fruits of others' labor.
If Kuro doesn't want to catch him, then I'll catch him myself!
Once I get the official position, I can live a peaceful life and won't be tricked by Kuro!
Thinking of this, Kro couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"What are you laughing at?" Lida asked.
"I'm laughing at Cass for being stupid!"
And you, Lida, are reckless.
Of course, he dared not say that.
"?"
Lida tilted her head. "Cass? Isn't Cass in the East China Sea?"
Seeing that Chloe didn't answer, she shrugged and walked forward, but as she passed the unconscious Joelle Bonney, she glared at her fiercely.
"I predicted your prediction!"
...
Chambord, at 12GR.
The entire Straw Hat Pirates crew lay sprawled out in disarray.
Usopp and Brook, one wielding a slingshot and the other a rapier, were relentlessly stabbing Kizaru.
Kizaru had Zoro under his foot, while his other foot was raised, emitting a rich yellow light.
When Kuro arrived, this scene was still ongoing.
He had seen the light from over there a long time ago, and when he came over, the old man hadn't even put his foot down yet.
You bastard, why don't you kick it?!
"Brother Kuro."
Sentomaru, carrying an axe, greeted Kuro when he saw him arrive, and then he saw that Kuro was shirtless.
Where are your clothes?
"It broke when we were fighting off those pirates with bounties over 100 million, don't worry about the details."
Kuro waved his hand and pointed at Kizaru, asking, "What's that old man doing?"
"I don't know," Sentomaru said.
"Then what are you doing?"
Kuro looked around at the others, all of whom were injured, but Sentomaru and the Pacifistas just stood there without making a move.
"Me? I'd like to see when the old man kicks it," Sentomaru said matter-of-factly.
Goodness...
Who dares to say I'm bad? The bad stuff is right here.
"Oh~ Kuro, you've come."
Kizaru saw Kuro and raised his hand in greeting.
It was a perfectly normal greeting.
He's standing there with his foot raised, being attacked by two people; it looks utterly ridiculous.
"Yo." Kuro also waved and greeted him.
"How are those pirates doing?" Kizaru asked.
"They ran away."
When Kuro arrived, he used his Observation Haki to sense that some of the smaller pirates had already woken up and were running away with their seriously injured captains, meaning they had truly escaped.
"It actually escaped from your grasp. That's terrifying," Kizaru pouted.
"Yeah, that was terrifying. I couldn't beat them." Kuro looked terrified.
"Did they all really escape? Including that former Marine Rear Admiral, X Drake?" Kizaru asked again.
"They all ran away, I saw it with my own eyes!" Kuro nodded confidently.
"That's good."
