Flesh and metal fragments fell together, and the bursting blood almost turned into a rain of blood, dripping onto everyone.
"Sila...is dead?"
The burly man reached out and caught the rain of blood, watching the flesh and pieces fall, his expression somewhat dazed.
Is that strange bird really gone?
"Hey, hit me!"
He turned around and shouted at the person, only to find that the person had said the same thing.
The two men were stunned for a second or so before striking at the same time, slapping each other hard across the face.
It hurts a lot.
The burly man felt excruciating pain, so much so that tears welled up in his eyes.
But it is incredibly real.
"Dead, dead!!!"
Tears streamed down the burly man's face as he knelt on the ground, his hands flailing wildly at the earth stained with blood and chunks of flesh.
"My wife, my children... Silas is dead. It's over. It's all over!"
"Sila is dead!"
"It's been defeated! Hooray!"
"We're finally free from Silas's exploitation!"
"Long live the young man!"
"Wow, that guy is amazing!"
The group of people were so happy they almost jumped for joy; some were beaming with delight, while others were weeping uncontrollably.
This strange bird caused so much suffering to so many of them. Although they eventually came up with a solution, there was always one unlucky person who would be discovered by Sira and then eaten.
If it weren't for the Whitebeard Pirates, their Kuja Town would have been gone long ago.
Finally, finally, they were taken down.
Everyone was happy, but when Shiri saw the Marine who suddenly crouched down, she suddenly remembered something and ran home. Before long, she returned carrying a basket full of food and ran towards Kuro.
She mustered her courage, handed the basket to Kuro, and said, "Big brother Navy, I heard you were hungry just now, here, have some!"
In her opinion, Kuro must be hungry, otherwise he wouldn't have squatted down.
Kuro was pressing his hand against the ground, using his power to transmit energy from the ground to the dagger-like metal spikes and the scattered metal fragments. He was taken aback when he saw the little girl running over.
"Um, I am indeed quite hungry, but..."
Kuro pointed to his navy cloak. "I'm a navy man."
“You saved us, just like an old man. Eat up, being hungry is really painful. I know we went hungry a few years ago when we were still in the Chaotic Lands.” Shiri pushed the food forward again.
These words made Kuro look at her again, and then he smiled and said, "Then I shall accept your offer."
He took She-Ra's basket, sat cross-legged on the ground, picked up a piece of bread, and started eating it.
The food in the basket wasn't unusual—bread and apples—but the apples were a beautiful color, and the bread was very soft; you could tell it had just been baked.
"Speaking of which, you just said that a few years ago it was still the Land of Chaos?" Kuro asked.
Shire replied, "Yes, a few years ago, this place belonged to no one, and pirates would often come here to rob. Then, then Father came and declared this place to be his territory, and then things calmed down."
As she spoke, Sheryl's face darkened: "Later, Sila came. My parents died when Sila arrived."
"Ah...sorry," Kuro said, pausing his eating.
Sheri quickly shook her head: "This has nothing to do with big brother. On the contrary, I should thank big brother. It was big brother who killed Shera. It turns out there are good people in the Navy too."
Kuro glanced at her but didn't say anything.
“But big brother, I have a question.” She-Ra looked at him and suddenly said, “Why did you have to capture Ace? Big brother Ace is such a nice person. Ah, if it’s inconvenient, then forget it.”
Kuro finished his bread and started chewing on an apple.
"Your name is She-Ra, right?"
"Um!"
"Do you think I'm a good person?" Kuro asked.
"Big brother is a good person."
Why would someone think I'm a good person?
"Because our older brother protected us and defeated Silas."
"Is that all?" Kuro looked at her.
Sheri tilted her head: "Otherwise what?"
Kuro smiled and said, "But before I defeat this strange bird, I... no, the Navy, in your eyes, are bad guys, right?"
Sheri hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded, but quickly explained, "But big brother is a good person!"
"You're still too young. There are some things that you might not understand when you grow up if you don't learn them."
Kuro chuckled and said, "You think I'm a good person, but I think I'm a bad person because if this matter could lead to my certain death, I can simply turn a blind eye."
People's upbringing shapes their perspectives. No matter how many good people are in the navy, if they don't benefit the people of this island, it's all for naught.
No matter how many bad pirates there are, if they have done good deeds for this island, then they are good people.
Kuro knew this better than anyone.
Therefore, in this world, there isn't so much right and wrong.
If you can't see it, then ignore it. If you can see it, then do something about it if it doesn't affect you. If you can't, then there's nothing you can do.
After all, the world is so dangerous, staying safe is the most important thing.
Life is precious, and Kuro felt that his own life was just as precious.
He never considered himself a righteous person, nor did he see himself as a hero.
He was just an ordinary person.
Doing the work that ordinary people should do, living the life that ordinary people want to live.
I strive to cultivate myself so that I can survive in this world.
