Chapter 171 What does it have to do with me, Kuro?

The captains were engaged in battle with the naval elites in the center and naturally couldn't attend to what was happening here, but the captains who had just boarded the ship heard these words.

"Kro?"

A person wearing a crown but dressed in a costume similar to that of a juggler looked at Kro and said, "That's him."

This is Amadob, an associate captain of the Whitebeard Pirates.

An older female pirate looked at Crowe and said, "But I don't see a knife."

Elmi was also an assistant captain.

"Don't worry about that, just catch him first, then we'll know."

The speaker was an octopus-man with six arms, wielding a large cleaver, who walked over.

Auxiliary captain, Garuma.

Accompanying him were about a dozen pirates.

They are all captains of various pirate ships that are famous throughout the New World!

Seeing a dozen or so captains approaching, Kuro quickly explained, "No, I'm not Kuro, no, I am Kuro, but I'm not Kuro."

“It’s Kuro, that’s right. We’re looking for you. What does this Kuro have to do with us?” Rumba gripped his weapon, approaching step by step…

...

In the crowd, Lida took down a pirate with a finger gun and looked at Kuro with disdain, saying, "Did you use Kuro's name again?"

"No..."

Kuro sidestepped a pirate's sword strike and kicked him, sending him flying.

At the same time, he extended his finger and fired a finger gun, striking a pirate who was about to slash a nearby navy officer, creating a gash in his body.

“I remember giving my own name. They must have misheard me. That’s a good thing, they won’t notice me anymore,” Kuro said.

Lida suddenly remembered something and said, "Wait a minute...where were you filmed earlier, and you even ran into Whitebeard?"

Kuro declined to comment on this.

They were all filled with bitterness, the kind of bitterness that leaves you speechless.

Seeing Kuro's speechless expression, Lida exclaimed, "If we really run into them, won't they notice you?"

"Don't talk nonsense."

Kuro tilted his head to the side, and a knife stabbed towards his head from behind. Lida pointed a finger in that direction.

Bang!

The pirate behind Kuro felt as if he had been hit in the forehead by a bullet; his head jerked back, and he fell to the ground.

"The one who's getting attention is Kuro, what does that have to do with me, Kuro?" Kuro said without the slightest bit of remorse.

It wasn't intentional on his part. He had given his full name, but people insisted on mistaking him for Kro. What could he do? He was helpless.

"Is Chloe alright?"

Lida jumped to the side, and Kuro kicked one of the attacking pirates in that direction, sending him flying.

"Well, he insists on charging forward. It's good for him to learn a lesson. At worst, he'll get hurt, but he can still escape."

Before Kuro could retract his foot, he forcefully slashed to the side.

"Storm Foot".

A slash flew from his foot, heading towards the navy officer who had been ambushed and fallen to the ground not far away. Beside the navy officer, two pirates were about to kill him when the slash approached, striking their bodies and causing them to fall to the ground.

"Th...thank you!" The navy man gasped for breath, still shaken, and said to Kuro.

“If you’re injured, go to the back. Staying here will only cost you your life, and you might even lose your comrades,” Kuro told him.

There are medical teams, but the Marineford medical team is for post-disaster care; if they were to enter the battlefield now, they would only die faster.

"But, but I can still fight," the navy officer said hesitantly.

Kuro glanced at his epaulets and said, "You're just a captain, right? I'm a lieutenant colonel. I allow you to step down. But if you really want to fight, I won't stop you. Life and death are decided on the battlefield. But if you can't hold on and want to step down, don't worry about punishment. If anyone asks, just say that I, Lucilfer Kuro, allowed it."

"Yes! Understood, I will obey Lieutenant Colonel Kuro's orders!"

The navy officer, clutching his bloodied shoulder, stood up, hesitated for a moment, saluted Kuro, and retreated.

He's not the kind of person who's obsessed with achieving great deeds; now that he's injured, preserving his life is his top priority.

Lida looked at him curiously. "Huh? Don't you usually maintain a neutral stance towards people with differing opinions?"

Having followed Kuro for so long, she knows his character very well. He will intervene in matters concerning civilians without a stance, based on what he sees and when he has the ability.

But he never cared about those with a particular stance—the Navy, pirates, the Revolutionary Army, the King's Army, and so on.

Kuro once told her that you have to be prepared to pay the price for everything you do. If you're a Marine, you have to be prepared to die when you fight pirates.

If you're a pirate, you have to be prepared to be arrested and killed by the Navy, and to be double-crossed.

Kuro clicked his tongue: "In a battlefield with hundreds of thousands of people, the casualties are very high. Some people don't want to fight, and you can't force them."

He's slacking off here himself, so of course he has no right to force others to fight here. If he gets injured, he should step down. Otherwise, he'll only be another kill for the pirates, and he won't serve any other purpose.

However, expecting him to act as a battlefield caretaker is impossible.

If we were to do that, why would we need so many naval forces? Wouldn't it be enough to just recruit a few with formidable fighting capabilities?

"Back up, we're too close, that old geezer will spot us."

Kuro glanced at his current distance. The Marines were advancing quite quickly, basically right below the 'Moby Dick'. This distance was far too dangerous for him.

"oh."

Lida easily dodged a pirate's attack, then placed a hand on the pirate's body, causing him to collapse.
