The weather gradually turned gloomy, and dark clouds rose from the sky, gradually gathering overhead.
"Mr. Clooney."
"Hello, Mr. Clooney."
"It's going to rain, Mr. Clooney, please take shelter from the rain."
Kro walked down the street with a smile on his face, and passersby greeted him.
Rita, the big eater, is known as the "Mr. Nice Guy" Kro.
During his time in Loguetown, his gentle and helpful nature, along with his naval identity, quickly earned him popularity.
Kuro's comment on him: He would fetch water for the widow whenever he had nothing to do, and donate money to the widow whenever he needed it. He was destined to be with the widow in this life.
"You too, if you didn't bring an umbrella, you should go back as soon as possible."
Kro smiled and greeted every pedestrian.
Only here does he feel a sense of presence.
As for the naval base, he was nothing but miserable and bewildered.
Look at what he's been through during this time!
They're either taking the blame or on their way to taking the blame.
This is completely different from what Kuro said back then!
And then there's that damn fake loli, Lida, who does nothing but treat herself like a laborer.
That idiot Smoker takes his anger out on himself when he's in a bad mood!
He really likes this place because the residents are so kind and talkative.
Only then could he feel the peace he had experienced in Xiluobu Village.
Thinking of Xiluobu Village reminded him of that damned straw hat, the bastard who ruined his plans.
"If it weren't for him, my plan would have succeeded long ago, and I wouldn't have run into that pervert Kuro."
Kuro grew angrier the more he thought about it, muttering, "I'll run into that bastard sooner or later. Just wait, as a Marine, I'll definitely get my revenge."
"Pirates! Pirates have appeared on the execution platform in the square!"
"It's Bucky the Clown and Alvida the Iron Rod! They look like they're about to execute someone!"
A commotion broke out not far away.
"Execution platform? Bucky?"
Kuro frowned. Of course he knew the name; he was a notorious pirate in the East Blue.
He turned his gaze and saw a man standing on the high execution platform. Although he was too far away to see the man's face clearly, the man's attire was that of the person Crowe had been thinking about day and night.
"Straw Hat Boy!"
Kro's pupils contracted, and he ran over.
...
From the naval building closest to the execution platform, Kuro stood on the platform, where he could see the execution platform clearly.
"Hey, Kuro, have you seen a red nose?"
Lida popped up from behind, puffing out her cheeks.
"Red nose?"
Kuro pointed down, "If you're talking about Buggy, he's over there."
"It's him! He actually dared to lie to me!"
Lida stared at the square and asked curiously, "Why are there so many pirates? Aren't they going to arrest them? And what's Straw Hat Luffy doing on that execution platform?"
"He wants to see the place where the Pirate King died."
Smoker's voice came from behind.
He and Tashigi came up the stairs at that moment. Smoker handed a wanted poster to Lida, saying, "You haven't seen it yet, have you? Monkey D. Luffy, that Straw Hat kid."
Thirty million?!
Lida took the bounty poster and exclaimed in surprise, "First time offering a bounty? In the East China Sea?"
"He is the one who defeated Arlong the Fishman, so a bounty of 30 million is not an exaggeration."
Smoker looked at Kuro and asked, "Weren't you going to stay out of it?"
Kuro stared at the farce unfolding on the execution platform, while Luffy was caught in the shackles.
He smiled and said meaningfully, "Smoker, the times are calling."
"What's the meaning?"
Just as Smoker had a question, he heard a very loud sound echoing in the square.
"I'm going to be the Pirate King!!!"
That sound was enough to shake the heavens and the earth!
Smoker's pupils constricted as he looked at the execution platform in disbelief.
"Hey, that's too arrogant."
Lida was also stunned. "In this place... you actually want to talk about becoming the Pirate King?"
Bucky picked up the knife, ready to strike, but just then, the straw-hatted boy who was being trampled underfoot smiled.
“He smiled…” Smoker was stunned.
“He smiled…” Lida found it unbelievable.
He smiled...
Kuro, who had just arrived, stood there, looking at Luffy's smiling face, overwhelmed with mixed feelings.
The fear between life and death is immense; those who laugh in the face of death are true heroes.
Kuro also smiled, but at this moment his smile was somewhat ferocious, and his voice slowly emerged from between his teeth:
"Pirates!"
"Why!"
Smoker's veins bulged as he roared, "Why is he laughing? How dare he laugh!"
Boom!
Dark clouds loomed in the sky, and a bolt of lightning struck down, hitting the execution platform. The immense power of the lightning ignited a blue flame on the platform, which then collapsed to the ground with a bang.
"Hahaha, I'm not dead."
Luffy, adjusting his straw hat, burst into laughter.
Smoker raised his arm high and then swung it down.
From all the alleys, the navy rushed out and surrounded the pirates.
"We will absolutely not let you escape from Loguetown!"
Smoker turned and left.
"Kuro, aren't you going to join in?" Lida swallowed hard; she was still reeling from the incredible scene just now.
Kuro shook his head, looking at the torrential rain that had begun.
“A dangerous man is coming. Keep a low profile, or he might kidnap you and lead you into a rebellion.”
Kuro wasn't going. Even though he hadn't read the plot, his Observation Haki detected a dangerous man approaching.
