Chapter 228 Moving the ship closer

Having failed to persuade Kuro, Kuro retreated in bewilderment, sitting listlessly on the deck, his figure faintly pale.

The nearby navy did not dare to disturb him, but would hear his mutterings as they passed by.

"Not strong enough... a small goal..."

It seemed that Lieutenant Colonel Kuro's words had made him somewhat delirious.

"How come I can't catch a single thing..."

Kuro, holding a fishing rod, thought to himself, "A Sea King would be fine too."

“The boat is moving, how could there be any fish?” Lida said disdainfully.

"Could you wipe the drool from your mouth before you speak? And you can't eat the bait, Lida!"

Kuro glanced at her speechlessly.

"I don't!"

Lida wiped away her drool as if a little secret had been discovered, and said seriously, "I just thought the bait looked pretty bright, I'm just looking at it, I haven't eaten it yet."

What's the difference between this and wanting to eat...?

"Aren't you eating yet?"

Kuro sighed and rubbed his forehead in exasperation. "And your snacks, if all else fails, I'll ask the cook to make you some more. I specially selected this chef from the headquarters cafeteria. Is it not to your liking?"

"No, I just want to taste the bait. I've never had it before..." Lida said honestly.

"Where did you come from, you starving ghost! Go away, stop bothering me. Why don't you just eat fish bait?" Kuro rolled his eyes.

"oh..."

Lida lowered her head and stepped back.

"Wait, give me back my knife."

Lida instinctively hugged Qiushui tightly, and then saw Kuro looking puzzled.

Her eyes darted around, and she said, "Hey, Kuro, aren't you going to train your body? If you keep using the sword, you'll become dependent on it. How about this, I'll keep the sword for you for a while. Anyway, your power is in the sword, so you can summon it whenever you want."

"Hmm? You want to be my flute-playing maiden, no, sword-wielding maiden? Fine, anyway, I need to focus on physical training, so you can just hold me then."

Before taking the top spot, he focused on developing his abilities, but now he feels he needs to develop his physical abilities as well.

Especially after facing Kaido.

The shock he felt from Kaido was immense. His physique was certainly not comparable to Kaido's, but in terms of Haki, it was possible.

No matter how hardened and entangled it is, it can't compare to that advanced electric discharge posture; that's the ultimate domineering power.

He greatly admired Kaido's Saiyan-like posture.

If he had that domineering aura, there wouldn't be many people who could move him.

Just then, the fishing line moved slightly.

"oh?"

Kuro suddenly raised his fishing rod, and as water splashed on the surface, a large fish emitting a shimmering light leaped out of the water.

"What a huge sailfish! I've decided, I'll have some sashimi for afternoon tea!" Kuro tossed the sailfish onto the deck, watching it bounce around, and laughed.

call out!

Just then, a cannonball flew over from a distance at high speed and landed right on the sailfish that Kuro had caught.

boom!

The sailfish exploded in a burst of fire, smashing a large crater in the deck and shattering the bait bucket next to it.

Kuro's eyes twitched as he looked at the charred, unidentified object.

"Which bastard is it?!"

"Sir, enemy attack! It's a pirate ship!"

A navy man poked his head out from the lookout tower atop the mast and shouted.

"Do I need your reminder? Besides pirate ships, what other idiot would dare to fire cannonballs? I want to see which bastard blows up the results of my hard work over the past few hours!"

Kuro gritted his teeth and reached out, saying, "Give me the binoculars!"

The captain quickly brought over a pair of binoculars and handed them to Kuro. He looked over and magnified the black dot in front of him; it was indeed a ship.

However, it's a bit strange.

The pirate pattern painted on the huge canvas is crooked and full of a postmodern romantic liberalism. You can vaguely make out that the pattern is a skull with ears and a red nose.

It's probably... a pirate ship.

Kuro's expression was strange. To be honest, that painting made him feel a little suffocated. What kind of person could paint such a painting? Didn't they have any self-awareness?

"Let me see, let me see."

Lida jumped around Kuro, reaching out to take the binoculars from his hand.

Kuro handed the binoculars to Lida, who looked through them and nodded, saying, "Not bad."

Do you share the same aesthetic sense as artists?!

Kuro smirked and said viciously, "Move the ship over there and sink it!"

...

"Foxchie, Foxy!"

On the pirate ship, a boy rushed over excitedly, saying, "I just fired a cannonball, it was so exciting!"

On the high platform of the deck, a man with spiky hair that splits at the top sat comfortably, while a female pirate with dark green hair massaged him.

"Um?"

Foxy opened his closed eyes, glanced at the boy, and encouraged him, "Well done, Kuro! This is your first step in your life as a pirate. Keep it up! This captain has high hopes for you!"

"Yes, Boss Foxy!"

The boy clenched his fist and said with admiration, "I will definitely become someone like Boss Foxy!"

"Yes!" Foxy nodded emphatically. "I believe in you. Just keep going with that spirit of admiration for me!"

The boy named Kuro had only recently joined the crew. Foxy agreed to take him in because he didn't mind the pirate pattern on the canvas at all, which greatly moved Foxy.
