"I can only continue practicing swordsmanship as usual every day. If I can reach Netero's level, that would be fine too. I should focus on physical skills and ability development first. I should also develop advanced Armament Haki within my body as soon as possible, so that I can be a little safer."
Clenching his fist, Kuro turned to look at Lida and the others. "What do you want with me?"
Lida realized what was happening and cried out, "Ah! Right! Kuro! Something terrible has happened, Kuro! This is awful!"
"Stop, stop, stop."
Kuro picked at his ear and said calmly, "What's the rush? Even if the sky falls, there are tall people to hold it up. What does it have to do with us? Speak slowly, don't be so tense."
"oh..."
Lida paused, took out a string of candied hawthorns from her backpack, tore open the wrapper, ate one herself, and then handed it to Olga.
"Hey! Candied hawthorn!"
Olga's mouth formed an "O" shape as she excitedly bit into a piece, her whole mouth moving as she revealed a happy smile.
A few days ago, Kuro was bored and told Lida how to make this, so she asked a chef to make it.
The chefs in this world are incredibly diverse, proficient in everything. There's no such thing as a good chef if you don't know how to cook everything – from hot dishes to cold dishes, from pastries to desserts.
This candied hawthorn has recently become a favorite of Lida and Olga.
Lida chewed a few bites, her eyes crinkling into crescent moons with laughter. The sweet and sour taste made her realize that she could only discover her true self after eating it.
She swallowed and said, "Kuro, um... ugh."
Lida took another bite and continued, "It was at sea that we found it... Olga, would you like another one?"
"Yo! Okay." Olga nodded emphatically.
After Olga took another bite, Lida continued, "It's our scout ship, mmm, delicious."
"Lida!"
Kuro's temples bulged as he gritted his teeth and said, "I told you to speak slowly, not to eat while you speak. Also, either eat or talk. Don't eat halfway through your sentence. It's annoying, you know?"
"You told me not to rush."
Lida muttered something, her speech quickening, "It means a large pirate fleet has been spotted on the sea."
"???"
"!!!"
A question mark first appeared above Kuro's head, then it became vertical.
"A massive fleet?!"
“Yes, a large fleet, so many ships. The scout ships reported back at least twenty, and several of them have heavy cannons,” Lida nodded.
Twenty ships?!
"Why don't you just say it directly?" Kuro felt a toothache.
"You told me not to rush and to take it slow," Lida said innocently.
"I... never mind, I'll sink them in the sea, whichever direction they're in."
If you encounter a ship at sea, don't be afraid. Envelop it in seawater and sink it. That will surely scare the pirates on board to tears.
...
On the vast ocean, twenty ships sailed side by side, creating a powerful and imposing sight.
The first ship was enormous, with a sculpture of Bailey with weapons crossed at the bow. The 'Toad Merchant' had his arms crossed, wearing a confident expression, looking very proud of himself.
"Boss, we're almost at Meng Island!"
A man in a striped suit walked over, excitedly.
Call me Governor!
Without turning his head, Elmos shouted arrogantly, "I am now the governor of the Grand Fleet, even if it's temporary! Look at the men I've brought here!"
He stretched out his hand and gestured towards the fleet beside him, saying, "These are all famous figures!"
On a ship near him, the bow was marked with a pill symbol, and the pirate flag was also a pill with bones crossed on top. On the deck, a man wearing a pill-shaped hat sat there, grinning maliciously.
"'Pain Man' Aspirin, with a bounty of 135 million, is a pirate who just surpassed 100 million this year. If he goes to Sabaody Archipelago, there will be more than eleven Supernovas. I paid a lot of money to bring him here."
"And this one too!"
He stretched his arm to the other side, where the ship looked like a clockwork on its side, and the pirate flag was also a clockwork with bones, topped with a hideous skull.
The man on the boat was shaped like a cylinder, with a clock hanging on his body. He had rabbit teeth, which made him look somewhat comical, but those who knew him understood that he was not to be underestimated.
"'The Clockwork Man' Samuel, with a bounty of 65 million, although it's not over 100 million, don't underestimate him, this guy is very strong."
Elmos laughed: "His ability is the key. Having eaten the 'Clock-Clock Fruit,' he has the ability to control time; he can make time fast or slow."
The rest consisted of half his own ships and the other half of the pirates he had hired. None of them had a bounty of less than 40 million, and they were all pirates with considerable fame in the first half of the story.
He spared no expense to successfully seize the island.
After taking over Moe Island, the island was taken over by the pirates they had invited, and it was completely turned into a pirate town. He only wanted the rights to sell weapons along the shipping route through Moe Island; he didn't want anything else.
Moreover, he was lucky enough to acquire a trump card.
After looking at his ships, Elmos frowned. "Where's Donald?"
"That lord said he was going to fish in the sea, and then he jumped in," the subordinate honestly replied.
"Tch, at this critical juncture... never mind, he's not a pirate, just a helper I brought from the Flower Country as a precaution. With so many of my fleets attacking, he's more than enough."
