Chapter 302 is really good

"???"

Lida was still angry. She was eating when Kuro called her away, insisting that she see someone she didn't know. But as soon as she arrived, the person's words left her full of questions.

Depending on the situation, is it about self-awareness?

Lida thought for a long time and made sure her memory was correct; she didn't recognize this person.

"Who are you?" she asked, looking up at the man who resembled him.

"Hey, are you kidding me!"

Lowe stared wide-eyed at Lida in disbelief. "'Lo's' honor, have you forgotten it?! Or did you betray your honor after becoming a Marine?!"

"ha?"

Lida looked at her as if she were listening to some kind of fantasy, completely bewildered. "What glory or what honor? Who are you anyway?"

Lowe stared directly at Lida, seemingly trying to read something from her face. Suddenly, he laughed: "My silly sister, what are you pretending for? The 'Lo' characteristics on you are proof enough."

"Oh? You're Lida's brother? Really?"

Kuro was somewhat surprised to hear this.

Lida didn't reply; instead, she frowned. "Brother? Do I have a brother?"

These words made Lowe's temples bulge with veins, and he roared, "Lolita! Have you really forgotten?!"

Upon hearing the name, Lida's pupils contracted, and a brief moment of distraction appeared in her eyes as she murmured, "Lo...Lita?"

A hint of pain appeared on her small face.

"Lolita, Lolita..." she repeated the name softly, as if some painful memory was resurfacing in her mind.

Snap!

A pebble struck Lowe's face like a bullet, drawing a trickle of blood.

Kuro withdrew his finger and said coldly, "Who gave you permission to speak so loudly?"

The sound of the pebble brought Lida back to her senses. She frowned and said to Lowe:

“My name is not Lolita, my name is Flo Rida, now and always.”

Lowe froze, then, as if insulted, continued to roar, "Stop joking! Flo is just a servant's surname of 'Lo'. Are you trying to insult me?!"

"I don't care!"

Lida stuck her tongue out at him. "My name is Flo Lida. I'm a Marine. Kuro, he's so noisy."

"Um."

Kuro drew his Shusui. "Fine, I'll send you on your way. Whether you're Kuro or not is irrelevant."

"You can't escape!"

Lowell completely ignored Kuro's threat, staring straight at Lida, and said, "You can't hide from the 'Lo' family bloodline. It's our heritage and characteristic. If you don't return to the family, you will suffer from hunger forever!"

These words stopped Kuro from stabbing Lowe.

"The pain of hunger?"

A black knife was held to Lowe's neck. Kuro squinted and said, "Hey, explain yourself."

Lowe's lips curled into a smile as he stared directly at Lida and said:

"Do you feel constantly hungry? No matter how much you eat, you can never feel full. This pain will not be relieved unless you return to your family."

"This should have been etched into your memory long ago, so why did you live but not go back, Lolita? Answer me!"

"I don't know..."

Lida said with considerable distress, "Isn't my hunger due to the side effects of the fruit? Besides, I've been full before. How strange... Never mind, I'm hungry. I want to go eat something. Kuro, it's up to you now."

With that, she jogged away.

"Rita, Lolita!"

Lowe shouted at her, "Come back! You disgraceful wretch who betrayed the family, you... cough cough!"

A cloud of smoke flew onto his face and into his mouth and nose, making him cough violently.

"You two go and follow them."

Kuro exhaled a puff of smoke and spoke to Kuro and Cass.

The two nodded and followed Lida.

Kuro looked at Lowe, then silently took another puff of his cigar. The smoke escaped from his mouth, lingering under Lowe's head without dissipating.

"Do you want to live or die?" Kuro asked.

Lowe lowered his head, staring at the plume of smoke. His eyes flickered, and finally, he uttered, "Live!"

"That makes things easier. Tell me, what exactly is this Luo family, and what is this trial?"

"Want to know the secrets of the Luo family?"

A smile appeared on Lowe's lips: "Sure, let's do an equal exchange. You ask one question, and I'll ask one."

"You're still trying to bargain with me at a time like this?"

Kuro narrowed his eyes, and the smoke beneath Lowe's head rose up, enveloping his head. Instantly, the smoke entered Lowe's eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, causing Lowe to show a look of pain.

He gritted his teeth and snarled at Kuro, "This level of pain is far from enough!"

"Well, you're awesome."

Kuro dispersed the smoke, glanced at him, and asked, "What do you mean by 'trial'?"

With the smoke gone, Lowe caught his breath, rested for a moment, and then said:

"Our tradition is to ensure that the Luo family members are all elites. Starting from the age of eight, we send our clansmen to various places for trials, and each place is very far away."

“Young members of the Luo family have an enormous appetite and are easily hungry. Only by finding a way to overcome or satisfy this hunger can a person return to the Luo family and be considered to have completed the trial.”

"My turn. Why is Rita in the Navy? Why didn't she return to her family? And, has she really forgotten?"
