When they found Lida, she was eating in the navy's private dining room, with several chefs attending to her, looking tense. In the kitchen behind, some chefs were preparing food as if in battle.
As chefs from headquarters, they encountered many gluttonous naval personnel, but Lida was one of the most memorable.
When facing such a big eater, you'd lose your dignity as a chef if you didn't go all out!
In front of Lida were a lot of empty plates. This was no longer eating; it was just pouring food into her mouth. She would pick up plate after plate of food, open her mouth, and swallow it down, chewing it a couple of times at most.
Crowe and Cass also sat at the table, their food laid out in front of them, eating with Lida.
"Mmm, mmm mmm mmm!"
Upon seeing Kuro, Lida, the eldest of the puffed-out beaked women, hummed at him.
"Just eat and don't make a sound."
Kuro pulled out a chair and said to the chef beside him, "Give me a curry."
"Yes, Colonel!"
The chef saluted and ran off to prepare.
Soon, the curry rice was served. Curry is a specialty in the many naval mess halls. While each chef may have their own specialty in other dishes, almost every naval chef has a unique skill when it comes to curry.
At least the curry that Kuro ate tasted pretty good.
The meal lasted until noon.
Kuro ate his curry rice quickly, then sat there smoking a cigar, watching Lida devour her meal.
I'm full!
Lida finished the last plate of food, patted her round little belly, leaned back, and looked like a well-fed old man.
"I'm full, Kuro, I can be full!"
Lida said to Kuro, "That person is lying. What he said about not being able to eat my fill? I can eat my fill. Look, Kuro, I'm full."
Kuro could tell, and after a moment of surprise, he said, "You ate your fill just to prove this?"
"Of course!"
Lida stood up and said, "I can eat my fill, so I don't have that thing he said about being hungry forever."
"So, Kuro, let that person go. I'm not a member of the 'Lo' family. I am Flo Rita!"
Kuro looked at her for a moment, then stood up and walked to her side, gently stroking her head. "Don't worry, I'll handle this. This is just the Four Seas. Don't you trust me?"
This time, Lida, unusually, didn't interrupt Kuro's hand. She stood there, her expression gradually becoming hesitant. "But, wouldn't doing that cause trouble?"
Kuro laughed and said, "I was going to the Flower Country anyway to find artisans and chefs. If I take care of some things along the way, it won't take long."
"Kro, go prepare the ship. We're setting off now. Cass, you stay behind. Is that alright?" Kuro turned to the two of them and said.
“Yes, no problem!” Cass replied, his expression turning serious.
"Colonel Kuro, leave it to me. If the pirates want to attack Pegasus Town, they'll have to step over my dead body first!"
"I'll go prepare the boat."
Kro nodded and went out to prepare first, followed closely by Cass, who needed to gather manpower.
After everyone had left, Lida suddenly grabbed Kuro's sleeve, her eyes filled with worry, "Hey, Kuro..."
"Um?"
"You won't abandon me, will you?"
That little hand was gripping very tightly.
"What are you thinking about?"
Kuro gave her a light tap on the head. "I warned you a long time ago not to think so much. Just eat and drink as usual. You're a Marine I recruited myself. Once you're in the organization, it's not so easy to leave. A Marine Lieutenant Commander is worth a lot, you know."
"I don't care about the navy!"
Lida looked directly at Kuro and said, "As long as you don't abandon me, that's enough!"
"No, it won't..."
Kuro sighed, "Don't worry, I would never abandon you."
From her panicked run away after Luo Wei revealed her identity, to now trying to prove she's not of the so-called Luo family bloodline by eating her fill.
Kuro knew exactly what she wanted to prove.
She wanted to show that she had no connection with that 'Luo' family, so as not to cause herself any trouble.
But the key point is that Kuro wants to solve this problem for her.
He never leaves potential problems unresolved, because that's what really causes trouble.
"Let's go see your 'brother'."
Kuro patted Lida's head again and walked out.
"You'll mess up my hairstyle, Kuro!"
Lida straightened her hair and followed him out, muttering to herself.
Beside the earthen pillar outside, a group of children gathered, curiously watching Lowe, whose head was the only part of his body sticking out.
A child took a pebble and threw it upwards, where it hit the dirt next to Lowe's head.
Lowe grinned at the child, "Kid, want to die?!"
"Wow, it's alive! How terrifying!"
"Run! Run!"
The children scattered like birds and beasts.
Lowe scoffed, watching the children run away, and gritted his teeth, saying, "Damn it, as prisoners, they don't even get to eat? I'm her brother, after all!"
Pop!
As soon as he finished speaking, the earthen pillar encasing him suddenly disintegrated, and Lowe's body floated in mid-air without falling down.
He tried to struggle, but found he couldn't muster any strength; the things binding him were too tight.
"Why is it an anchor?!"
Only then did he realize that what was tightly binding him was actually a huge ship anchor!
