Chapter 345, Second Stage

Another day passed, and they finally returned to Pegasus Island.

Without the pirate alliance, the situation on Pegasus Island is getting better day by day. In just a few days, the civilians have regained their spirits and spontaneously took to the streets to start activities.

People repaired buildings, opened shops, and the town began to burst with vitality.

Although only this one town remains inhabited on the island, people will eventually settle here, and in a few decades, Pegasus Island will become a prosperous island.

The warship docked at the port, and Kuro and the others disembarked. The residents greeted them with smiles.

"It's Colonel Kuro! Colonel Kuro is back!"

"And Major Crowe, hello there, Major Crowe, have you returned from your mission?"

"Oh, Major Lida, would you like some fresh roasted sweet potato?"

"want!"

Lida's eyes lit up, and she rushed to the shop, where a smiling auntie handed her a steaming hot roasted sweet potato.

With a smile, Chloe returned the greetings to everyone who greeted her.

Yes, that's how it should be; that's what a peaceful life should be like.

There was no unnecessary fighting, only a peaceful atmosphere; this was Kro's ultimate goal.

There's nothing wrong with being in the navy.

He had been worried about Mr. Kuro's approach, but if it succeeded, they would all be able to live here peacefully.

How wonderful!

A group of people walked through the town and arrived at the naval base in the center. However, the usual training sounds were not heard. There were only a few dozen naval personnel stationed at the base.

"Colonel Kuro!"

The highest-ranking officer stationed here was a second lieutenant. Upon seeing Kuro return, he immediately saluted and spoke.

Where is Cass?

Seeing so few people, Kuro's eyelids twitched, and he asked worriedly.

"The Twin Horse Kingdom sent a call for help a few days ago. Captain Cass led a team to wipe out the pirates," the lieutenant said truthfully.

"Just to wipe out pirates?"

Kuro breathed a sigh of relief. There weren't any powerful pirates in the West Blue, so even if he caught one, he wouldn't get a promotion.

There aren't that many great pirates for Cass to capture.

If it were a pirate with a bounty of over 100 million, even though Cassius's abilities are quite good, it wouldn't be so easy for him to capture them. It's not like the Marineford situation; pirates would definitely run away if they encountered the Marines.

Catching pirates is no big deal.

Kuro shook his head and walked into the base.

Back on Pegasus Island, we were free to do as we pleased.

Lida, having nothing to do, wandered around the streets. As for Kro, he seemed to still be recovering from being greeted warmly by the residents, and he went for another stroll around the town.

As for Kuro, he returned to his office at the top, reclined in his chair, munched on a cigar, and looked out the window, completely relaxed and at ease.

"At this time, we should have a bottle of red wine from the 1482nd year of the Sea Calendar, along with a piece of beef from Wano Country... No, Wano Country hasn't produced beef in a long time. That idiot Kaido doesn't even know how to export local specialties; all he knows is how to make weapons."

Kuro cursed and beckoned a Marine to instruct him to order the cook to prepare the food.

When you get home, it's time to relax and enjoy yourself.

For someone like him who values comfort and pleasure, his purpose in joining the navy was simply to be able to eat and drink at public expense, live a comfortable life, and even have a little bit of power.

During the Age of Exploration, beauties remained beauties, champagne and fine wines and upscale restaurants remained the same; only luxury cars were replaced by warships.

So, Finbodi was really living a damn good life back then.

Think about yourself again...

What a fucking failure!

"Finally, I've made it through." Kuro exhaled a puff of smoke, thinking smugly.

"Colonel Kuro."

There was a knock on the door, and a navy officer walked in and reported, "Mayor Jagur has arrived with the people digging the hot springs."

"Digging for hot springs?"

Kuro thought for a moment, and it seemed that such a thing had happened before, so he nodded and said, "Let him in."

Soon, Jagur led a tall man in.

"Colonel Kuro, we have invited the famous hot spring digger, the most renowned hot spring manager on the Grand Line, Nirvana!"

Jagur smiled at Kuro.

"Thank you for your hard work, Mayor Jia."

Kuro nodded and looked at the tall man. The man had dark skin, wore purple clothes, bit his upper lip, rolled his eyes, and looked very serious. He stood there with his arms crossed.

His hairstyle was quite interesting, with spider legs sticking out in all directions, and on his back, he had a pair of white wings that looked like chicken wings.

"Sky Island people?" Kuro paused for a moment, then looked at Nirvana.

Nirvana maintained his solemn expression and remained silent.

"That's strange, a Sky Island person actually came down. Hey, do you know Enel?" Kuro continued to ask.

Nirvana remained in the same posture, without uttering a word.

"A mute?" Kuro looked at Jagur with a strange expression. "You found a mute?"

No, it's not.

Jagur slammed his hand on Nirvana's shoulder and exclaimed, "Lord Nirvana, Colonel Kuro is asking you a question!"

After being patted, Nirvana finally reacted. He moved his body slightly, still rolling the whites of his eyes, but his expression revealed a strange look.

"I have already spoken."

"???"

When did you say that? Am I deaf?

Kuro pursed his lips, staring blankly at Nirvana, then suddenly remembered something and clapped his hands, "Oh! It's you!"

This erratic appearance reminded him of something.
