Maple Leaf Village, the land of insects.
Inside a large lobby.
"Kikyo! Kikyo! Are you listening to me?"
The soil was pounded on the ground with a hoe, making a loud thumping sound.
"Overeat? Of course you can overeat, there's plenty of food."
Kikyo turned her head and said matter-of-factly.
Beside her, the prey was piled up almost like a small mountain, and next to the animals were plenty of fruits and edible wild vegetables.
After "Nature Lifts the Ban," the first thing Kikyo did was hunt all the animals in the mountains and fields, picking the fruits and wild vegetables that she could only secretly pick before, plus that huge wild boar. Once it's pickled, we'll never have to go hungry again.
"It's not because I'm overeating, it's not!"
Veins bulged on Ueto's forehead as he gripped his hoe tightly, took a deep breath, walked over to Kikyo, and yelled into her ear, "I'm saying, what are you going to do about it!"
Kikyo heard her clearly this time and asked, "What do you mean, what should we do?"
"The lockdown is over, and the child's family is coming back. What about you? You shouldn't just stay cooped up in this little village. You should go out and see the world, cough cough cough!"
Perhaps due to his advanced age, Shangtu choked on his words after shouting and began coughing violently.
Kikyo quickly patted Ueto's back, muttering to herself as she did so, "Should we go out and take a look...?"
"Yes, you should go out and see the world. Don't you like cooking? The ocean has many amazing things, many spices and ingredients you've never seen before. Go and broaden your horizons. You're so young, it's such a waste for you to stay in the village."
As Shangtu spoke, a relieved smile appeared on his lips: "Now you don't need to worry about this village anymore. You should live for yourself now. Head towards the sea, for your dream."
Kikyo seemed not to hear, continuing to ponder, "Going out seems like a really good idea..."
"Platycodon grandiflorus!"
Shangtu smirked and roared, "Are you even listening to me?!"
"What? You're constipated and can't poop?"
Kikyo was taken aback, looking at Uesugi with some reluctance, "Grandpa Uesugi, is it really okay for you to tell me this? How about I prepare some herbal food for you? Peach kernels seem to have such effects."
"I..."
Shangtu sighed deeply, his whole body hunched over and he collapsed into a dejected state. He waved his hand weakly, "Whatever."
He was getting old and was afraid that Kikyo's words would make him so angry that he would have a stroke.
"Whatever you want me to do? Do you want me to make herbs? Okay, Grandpa Tu." Kikyo said.
Shang Tu paused, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the hoe tightly. He was almost caught off guard. He took a few deep breaths and quickened his pace.
"Hello."
Just as he stepped outside, a white-haired man came into view and greeted him.
"you..."
Shangtu's pupils contracted, and he said in disbelief, "Luo...no, Your Majesty!"
The person who arrived was none other than Lowe, who had ascended to the throne of the Insect Kingdom.
“It’s me,” Lowe said with a smile.
As Shangtu was about to bow, Luo Wei quickly helped him up, saying, "Since the ban was lifted, have you been living well? If there's anything inconvenient, you can tell me. The Insect Kingdom was indeed inhumane in the past, and now I want to make amends."
"That's enough, that's more than enough."
With tears in his eyes, Shangtu said, "The ban has been lifted, and my family will be coming back. We can be self-sufficient. Your Majesty, you are a good man."
"A good person..."
Upon hearing this, Lowe gave a self-deprecating smile, "It's good that you're doing alright. If you have any requests, you can come directly to Butterfly Town to make them."
“Yes, Your Majesty, is this all you came here for? There’s no need for that. It’s not necessary to come all this way for such a trivial matter,” Shangtu said, moved.
“No, I heard there’s a woman here named Kikyo, and I’m here to see her.” Luo Wei’s gaze swept back to the woman in the lobby, who was dressed in white and red pants and looked very gentle.
"Looking for Kikyo?" Uesugi was stunned.
...
Pegasus Island.
In the base's office, Kuro sat leisurely, cutting a piece of medium-rare beef with a knife and fork, chewing it slowly and deliberately. As he swallowed, he picked up the red wine that had been poured on the table and took a small sip.
"Hey, Kuro, how can you get full eating so slowly?"
At a small table nearby, Lida emptied the steak from her plate into her mouth, and casually added a little more size to the plate next to her that was stacked higher than her.
"You don't know anything. This is what it means to enjoy good food and life. Do you even know what it means to be high class?" Kuro rolled his eyes.
"High society? Is it really okay to eat steak in such small bites? Although this beef is high-grade beef specially supplied from the Grand Line, a food that only officers and colonels are qualified to enjoy, food is just about eating until you're full," Lida retorted.
"You're also a Versailles nobleman?" Kuro was stunned.
"What?" Lida tilted her head.
"No, it's nothing..."
For a moment, Kuro couldn't tell whether she was in Versailles or if that was really what she thought.
"Boom boom boom..."
Suddenly, the office Den Den Mushi rang.
Who is it?
With a 'click', Kuro took the microphone, and instantly, the microphone transformed into a person with a braided beard and round-framed glasses.
"Ku..."
The Den Den Mushi looked ferocious. As soon as it emitted its first tone, Kuro reacted quickly, pushing the Den Den Mushi away to the corner of the table. Then, he pushed forward, causing his chair to lean back.
"Luo!!!"
The sound shook the entire room.
Lida had just put a plate of steak into her mouth when she was startled by the sound and choked up. Her face turned red, and she quickly patted her chest before swallowing.
Once the echoes of the sound faded, Kuro approached the table again, picked up the microphone, and said, "Moshi moshi, who is this?"
"Kuro, it's Sengoku! Look what you've done!"
"Sengoku-san, what did I do? I've been staying on Pegasus Island for the past few days," Kuro said innocently.
"Stop joking! You know perfectly well what you've been doing in the Land of Insects. I sent you to assist the government, not to cause trouble. Do you know how many people are complaining about you to the World Government? They've even called me, asking me what you've been doing!" the Den Den Mushi roared.
"I'm retiring! Do you understand?! Don't make me encounter these unpleasant things again. Before I retire, can you please shut up for once? Is it fun to be disliked by the world government? Do you still want a promotion or not?!"
Promotion?
Of course I don't want to!
Kuro raised an eyebrow. "So, the World Government has punished me?"
"Of course there is, this should have been a lesson for you!" the Den Den Mushi said sternly.
Yada thief!
Kuroki was laughing so hard his teeth almost fell out.
"So, am I being demoted? Or am I being ordered to stay on Pegasus Island?" he asked expectantly.
