Chapter 508 The Arrogance of the Old-School Navy

Jolac Mihawk.

Known as 'Hawkeye', the world's greatest swordsman.

This title, or rather the title of the old Shichibukai, is quite interesting. Like the three admirals, it is named after an animal.

Bear, Eagle Eye, Snake Queen, Whale Shark, Black Bat, Flamingo, Sand Crocodile.

These people have dominated the seas for over a decade, possessing exceptionally strong power.

But ever since the Straw Hat Pirates appeared out of nowhere, the prestige of the Seven Warlords of the Sea has declined time and time again.

As it was said during the Warring States period.

"Don't lose anymore. If we keep losing, is there really any need for the Seven Warlords of the Sea to exist?"

As one of the three major organizations of the World Government, the Seven Warlords of the Sea deter the restless pirates on the seas. In essence, the Seven Warlords of the Sea cannot afford to fail.

Not to mention, like now, they've managed to add three new ones.

Three.

Because of these three, the World Government had to retain the spot of Kuma, who had long lost his mind, allowing the old-time Shichibukai to occupy four positions. If the new Shichibukai occupied too many positions, then the prestige of the Shichibukai would simply not be able to support this sea.

"You're here too."

Kuro leaned back in his chair, cigar in hand, and looked at Mihawk. "Strange, you actually attend a meeting like this."

Mihokola pulled up a chair and sat down next to Kuro, saying, "It's all because of you, Lucilfer Kuro. Although you are no longer a pure swordsman, it seems that there is no one on the high seas who can rival me."

"No way, I can't beat you, the world's greatest swordsman. Besides, I'm not pure, I'll cheat."

Kuro waved his hand, ignoring Mihawk's words, and said, "Let's continue the meeting. Three of the Seven Warlords have arrived, and if the other one answers the call, that's four. That's enough."

Although, Hancock and Mihawk are definitely more than enough to deal with Wald.

As for Luo, who is also present...

He doesn't think much of him.

It's not that I think Luo isn't strong. He showed considerable strength back in Sabaody Archipelago. A year and a half has passed, so naturally he'll become even stronger.

Especially with the Op-Op Fruit ability, one wrong move and you're in trouble.

Given Kuro's personality, he was quite cautious in dealing with it.

However, despite his cowardice, Kuro also possessed the arrogance of an old-fashioned person.

Whether it's the navy or pirates, he only acknowledges those who have made a name for themselves on the high seas and have lived for a long time.

Newcomers aren't important enough for Kuro to take seriously right now, especially given the details of their abilities.

Just as the old guard in the Navy views newcomers as a headache rather than a threat, Kuro is the same; these people are not yet worthy of his attention.

In Kuro's eyes, Buggy is more troublesome than Law.

Although Bucky wasn't very strong, he used his prestige to gather fugitives who had escaped from Impelton, and those fugitives were quite troublesome.

This falls into the category of old-school, senior empiricism. After all, he's lived here for over twenty years, so he's bound to have some of the arrogance one would expect.

After the naval captain who was a "meeting advocate" finished speaking about Wald, Kuro cleared his throat, stood up, walked to the large curtain, and said, "This meeting was entrusted to me by headquarters, so I will say a few words."

"Bondy Wald is a great threat to the Navy, pirates, and civilians alike."

"What you need is to work together to take down that pirate as soon as possible. The duty of the Seven Warlords is to deal with situations like this. This time, it's just you. Let me see what the Seven Warlords are capable of."

"And you?"

Hearing Kuro say that, Hancock raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?"

"Me? Of course I'll go back to Chambord to guard the gate."

Kuro said, "Just in case, if you manage to break through his defenses, I have to hold the last line of defense."

Logically, the navy should have been assisting them.

But how could Kuro possibly do that?

Going back to guard the gate or something is just talk.

With the Seven Warlords of the Sea taking over, that's enough. Kuro trusts these veteran powerhouses of the sea the most.

So many Shichibukai couldn't defeat one Wald?

He might as well become the Pirate King.

"Bolo bolo bolo..."

The Den Den Mushi suddenly rang, and Kuro raised an eyebrow and looked to the side.

It's not a Navy Den Den Mushi.

The giant snake that Hancock was sitting on stretched its head out in front of her, and a small Den Den Mushi appeared on its head at some point.

It was a call from her.

Hancock frowned and took the microphone.

From the Den Den Mushi came a loud cry from an old woman: "Boa Hancock, something terrible has happened! Sonia and Mary have been captured!"

"What?!"

Hancock's eyes widened, and she instinctively brought the microphone closer to her lips, exclaiming, "What did you say?!"

"Bondy Wald has captured Sonia and Mary!"

"How could they have been captured?! Did Wald infiltrate Amazon Lily?"

"No, it's grass..."

Before the aged voice could finish speaking, Hancock immediately said, "I'm in the Navy Council, Granny New!"

These words made Kuro glance in her direction, but he remained silent.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the Den Den Mushi, then the voice continued, "When Sonia and Mary went hunting, Wald discovered the ship, learned that they were your sisters, and captured them. He said that if you wanted your sisters back, he would let you go alone."

"I understand, Grandma New, bring the boat over here and come pick me up."
