Chapter 602: Rounding up, that's a thousand ships!

A few days later, the warships led by Kuro arrived at headquarters.

Kuro didn't waste any time. After disembarking and letting a group of officers rest, he went up to Kizaru's office.

"Oh~ Kuro, you're back."

Inside the office, Kizaru was leisurely sipping tea. When he saw Kuro arrive, he gestured with his lip towards the chair opposite him and said, "Please, sit wherever you like."

How can I be polite to you then?

Kuro rolled his eyes and sat down casually.

"Old man, I sent you the report before, didn't you see it?"

"I saw it."

Kizaru chuckled and said, "Ain and Binz re-enlisting is no problem, of course. However, since they deserted the Navy without permission, our suggestion is to start them from basic training."

"New recruits?"

Kuro frowned. "Wouldn't that be too slow? These two are at least lieutenant colonels or colonels. Starting them from recruits is unnecessary. Marshal Sakazuki just finished overseeing the global draft; there's no need to be so harsh on his own people."

"Well, it's just a suggestion. If you have any suggestions, of course we can do as you say. It's not a big deal."

Kizaru smiled and said, "After all, we are from the same school."

"Nothing is a big deal to you anyway."

Kuro rolled his eyes, leaned back comfortably, and then stretched out his hand, saying, "Grandpa, I'm going to G-3. It's such a dangerous place. Shouldn't you give me some aid? Maybe a thousand or eight hundred pacifists?"

"That's too much, Kuro," Kizaru chuckled softly.

“It’s not much, Grandpa, I’ve even saved you some money.”

Kuro said, "Let me do the math for you. The price of the Pacifista PX-Z is slightly lower now, but overall, the cost of five PX-Zs is roughly equivalent to four large warships. I need a thousand of them, which used to be equivalent to a thousand large warships, but now it's equivalent to eight hundred large warships."

He exclaimed excitedly, “Grandpa, I’ve earned you two hundred warships! Round it up to five hundred, and round it up again to a thousand! It’s like getting them for free!”

Kizaru pouted, "A thousand ships, how terrifying~"

"Right, right, so..."

"No, Kuro," Kizaru said with a smile.

Kuro's face fell. "How many are there?"

Kizaru stretched out a hand in front of Kuro, then bent down two fingers.

"Three units? That's far too few," Kuro said, somewhat annoyed.

Kuro knew he was asking for an exorbitant amount, like 1,000 or 2,000 units, but three units was far too few.

"Grandpa, I'm going to G-3, the front line, such a dangerous place, and you only give me three units?" Kuro said.

"You requisitioned two from Sabaody last time, and one from Pegasus Island. If I give you three more, that'll be six, Kuro."

Kizaru chuckled and said, "Although I would like to give it all to you, it's not possible. The Navy is currently facing a supply shortage, so we can't give it all to you. Otherwise, the higher-ups will have objections. Besides, you don't need the Pacifistas, do you, Kuro?"

"Why wouldn't I need it?"

Kuro protested, "Pacifista, old man, don't underestimate this technology. It's used to capture those troublesome pirates. Even in the New World, it has a lot of uses. It's perfect for defending bases. Once I have more of these, I can put them on warships to deal with pirates."

"But there really aren't that many."

Kizaru scratched his head and looked at Kuro: "Five platforms, five platforms at most. I'm going to get accused of favoritism again."

"Please bear with us for the sake of the younger generation."

Kuro exhaled a puff of smoke. "Wutai, huh? Oh well, something's better than nothing."

"Well, although there aren't many pacifists, I still managed to get you some help. For that, I even asked Vegapunk for a favor."

Kizaru laughed and said, "Weren't you going back to pay respects to your ancestors? You might as well take this opportunity to go back. I'll give you a leave of absence, and then you can go to G-3 to take up your post."

"Oh ho, old man, you've had a change of heart, actually letting me go back..."

Kuro's eyes had just lit up with joy when he suddenly froze, becoming wary. "Wait a minute, what do you want me to do?"

He was going home to pay respects to his ancestors, something he had mentioned to his grandfather before. Kizaru also knew that he would definitely return to the East Blue once a year around this time.

"It's nothing, I just want you to go back to your hometown to pay respects to your ancestors. Isn't that your family tradition?" Kizaru said with a smile.

"That's true... but you're not going to need my help again, are you?"

Kuro frowned. He used to go back to pay respects to his ancestors without telling them, because back then, as the base commander on Pegasus Island and Sabaody Archipelago, he could take a break whenever he wanted.

Although there are regulations regarding naval leave, he has his father's protection, so he never asks for permission to take leave.

But things are different now. He is about to take office and is still under the command of headquarters. At headquarters, he should be more discreet.

He may slack off, but if he wants a proper vacation, he still has to follow the rules.

He was definitely going to take this leave, but since the old man offered him leave on his own initiative, he felt there was something wrong with it.

What are some places where you're prepared to sabotage yourself?

Or are we going to take down something again, like that old pirate who ran all the way from the sixth floor to the East Blue...?

"Nothing at all, just a normal vacation."

Kizaru laughed and said, "Go get your flagship and take it for a spin; it's been sitting here for quite a while now."

Kuro looked at him suspiciously and said uncertainly, "Really, there's nothing you need my help with? Old man, just say it directly. I can promise you now, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

He couldn't stand it anymore; he felt that he wouldn't feel comfortable unless the old man tricked him a little.

This is against the rules, this is against common sense.

This made Kuro very upset.

"Really, no." A glint flashed behind Kizaru's sunglasses. "So you're eager to get things done, Kuro? Well then, I have some Level 6 wanted criminals here..."

"Goodbye."

Kuro cupped his hands in greeting, stood up, and walked out.

It's good that he's not busy. Why would he look for something to do? Isn't that just being idle?

“Clo”.

Once outside headquarters, Kuro made a phone call. "Is Wilbur next to you?"

"Yes, Mr. Kuro."

A bespectacled, dim-witted-looking man appeared on the other end of the Den Den Mushi, saying, "We are currently... in this warehouse on your flagship."

His words were punctuated by pauses and carried a somewhat ambiguous tone.

But Kuro didn't realize that he was currently on vacation with no missions and could return to the East Blue.

Don't get too carried away.

"With my flagship? That's quite a coincidence. Bring it out, gather the crew, and let's head back to the East China Sea."

Kuro laughed and said, "I'm on leave now, everyone go back to the East Blue!"
