Chapter 631 The True Nature of a Person

"It still can't be broken?!"

Adela's attack failed to break through the white mist; her body spun in the air before landing back on the ground.

He lowered his head slightly, looking at the trembling greatsword with a somewhat solemn expression.

It wasn't the weapon that was trembling, but his arm.

He used all his strength in that strike.

They had indeed encountered the Navy before, although they hadn't killed all of them because of the Saintess.

However, it's not that he hasn't killed any Marines before; with his full power unleashed, he has killed a Marine Rear Admiral.

According to other people's descriptions, this guy is just a 'colonel', so why does he look so tough?

And what's with that strange white mist?

Ability person?

"Tch, why are you still clinging to me?"

Adela brandished his greatsword, trying to shake off the white mist clinging to his body, but no matter how he waved it, the mist was like a leech, impossible to disperse.

Moreover, it also has a good sense of power.

"Trying to defeat me with this kind of move? You've miscalculated."

Adela smiled smugly, took a deep breath through her nose, and inhaled the white vapor.

"That's wonderful."

He looked at Cass greedily, "Hey, your strength is pretty good. If I kill you, I'll become even stronger!"

"I don't call you 'Hey'."

Cass said calmly, “My name is Greg Cass, the man who will guide you to become a complete person.”

Cass's words made Adela catch her breath, and in her mind, another voice seemed to echo.

“My name is Bonaparte Bolopa, and I am the one who will become your master.”

Different people have different meanings, but Adela inexplicably recalled the past.

"don't want..."

The black aura emanating from Adela intensified, and with a whoosh, a plume of dust appeared in his wake as he swiftly materialized in front of Cass, his greatsword thrusting straight at the white aura in front of Cass.

"Speak to me in that tone, human!!"

when!!!

This time, even the white mist trembled.

"This feeling..."

Kro, who had already finished fighting, was startled by the noise and looked over there. He pushed up his glasses, but the reflection in the lenses made it impossible to see his eyes.

"Another man with a strong will, what's going on?"

From his observation, these people seemed to have quite a strong will.

"I am superior to you humans, so don't speak to me in that commanding tone!"

Adela's neck veins bulged, and her knuckles turned white as she gripped the greatsword. "I will kill you and take this delightful power from you!"

"A pathetic person."

Cass said solemnly, "If you want it, then come and take it yourself!"

The white mist continued to swirl around Adela, growing ever thicker.

"Are you trying to make me kill you faster?!"

Adela gasped frantically for breath, "I am 'Greed,' I can absorb any power, and I can draw power from corpses! It will only make me stronger, while you will become weaker!"

His own black aura grew increasingly unrestrained, resembling charred charcoal, and formed a wolf's head, tearing towards the white aura.

The wolf head was extremely greedy. It opened its mouth and bit down, swallowing a wisp of white mist, and in doing so, it grew stronger.

"Cass!"

Wilbur was startled and instinctively pointed his gun at Adela, "Ten..."

"Stop, Wilbur."

Cass reached out his hand, not looking at him, but staring straight at Adela, "Let him continue."

"Idiot, I'll show you what despair really is!"

With each bite, Adela's aura intensified, gradually spreading a dangerous and restless energy throughout the surrounding area.

"That's the feeling..."

Adela tilted his head back, revealing a mesmerizing smile. He thrust his arm forward, and the greatsword he had placed against the white aura barrier of Cass charged forward with great force.

Click!

The thin white mist barrier was cracked by the greatsword, and the sword tip pierced through it.

"You're just like your turtle shell; you'll end up with the same fate!" Adela said with a ferocious grin.

Cass continued to watch him silently, and that look only fueled Adela's anger.

"Don't look at me like that!!"

With a roar, the wolf's bite became even more ferocious. "Your power can help me complete myself and become stronger. Repent, human!"

Why do you keep denying yourself as a person?

Just as the wolf's head was tearing at something, Cass suddenly spoke up, and with just one sentence, Adela was stunned.

"What, what are you saying?" Adela said through gritted teeth.

"You felt it, didn't you?"

Cass shook his head and said, "First of all, I want to apologize to you. It was my subjective impression that you considered me an 'incomplete person,' and I apologize for that."

"Mr. Kuro said that there are no perfect people, just as there are no complete people."

"Everyone has their own shortcomings. Because of this, the desire to make up for these shortcomings, or to amplify their existence, whether through hard work or depravity, is part of what it means to be human."

"Just as you are absorbing my power, I, in turn, feel your heart through the merging of my power with yours."

Tears welled up in Cass's eyes again, and those tears made Adela freeze for a moment.

"You are not an 'incomplete person' in this sense. You are a person, but you have closed your heart. What are you afraid of?"
