Chapter 669 A Sword No One Can Wield

“That’s right, David, you’d better throw yourself away too!” his mother-in-law said fiercely to him.

David chuckled sheepishly and continued walking forward, carrying the trash.

He was throwing away trash in a more remote area, so he had to hurry, otherwise he wouldn't have time to go back and clean it up if it rained later.

"David, I'm out of money, please give me some!"

A slovenly, swaggering man appeared in front of David and spoke as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"Ah...sorry, I'm out of money too," David said honestly.

Bang!

A fist landed on his chest.

“You don’t even have any money... Ouch! That hurts, David, are you made of iron?! Damn it! I’m already angry enough!” the man yelled.

"If this punch can make you feel better..." David smiled.

"David! Come and perform a circus act! Losing your house is bad enough!"

"Hahaha, come on, David is just a pig farmer. How could he perform acrobatics or show how to put pigs back together?"

"That's not bad either..."

The people on the street were all laughing at him to some extent.

This isn't the first time the Pansa family has become a laughingstock or a source of ridicule in this area.

I don't know when this tradition started.

In any case, ever since these adults could remember, the Pansha family must have been the subject of their jokes and teasing.

Human inertia is terrifying. Once people have believed something since childhood and haven't changed their minds, they will believe it for the rest of their lives.

Teasing the Pansa family seems to be an ingrained tradition, dating back to who knows which generation...

Amidst the teasing of his neighbors, a voice suddenly appeared in David's mind.

“David, you must remember that our Pansa family has been knights for generations! You must remember the virtues of a knight: we should help those in need, but we must not draw our swords. We do not have swords, nor are we allowed to have them.”

“David, remember this: we are the betrayed, we are the unwanted!”

"David, the Don Quixote family has betrayed us!"

My father's voice would occasionally echo in my mind.

David looked up, remembering what the navy officer had said earlier.

"Nobility..."

He murmured, then shook his head: "No, I am not an aristocrat, we have never been aristocrats."

Then he looked down at his hands that were carrying the trash.

“We are merely squires, merely knights, merely…swords that no one is qualified to wield.”

"And, just a pig farmer."

He shook his head and continued walking.

Behind him, in a corner of a building that hadn't been completely removed, Moore leaned against the wall, slightly adjusting the brim of his navy cap, pulling it down even lower, a smile playing on his lips.

"Indeed, a very interesting man..."

"Hey, David!"

As David threw away the trash and turned to go back, a voice called out to him.

David turned his head and looked at him, stunned. "Wallis... what's wrong with you?"

The freckled boy, Wallis, had a bruised and swollen face and was staring at David with resentment.

"You dare say that?! It's all because you called the Navy for help that Dad beat me up!" Wallis said through gritted teeth.

“Is that so? I’m sorry,” David said, bowing his head.

"Come on, don't give me that!"

Wallis said fiercely, "I'll get my revenge on you too! You're coming with me!"

As he spoke, he grabbed David's hand and forcibly pulled him to the other end.

"Um, where to?"

"Of course I'm going to teach you a lesson."

Wallis said one thing and then fell silent.

He chuckled as he dragged David to a deserted ruin, saying, "I can't beat you, but others can. I just happened to run into some people who also wanted to mess with you, so I brought you here!"

"You who's never felt pain before, today you'll experience what pain really is!"

Wallis grinned, "Come out, my friends!"

A group of people gradually emerged from the ruins and surrounded the two of them.

These men were all physically strong and had fierce expressions; they were either carrying guns or holding knives.

One of the men was over three meters tall and had two giant axes on his back.

They approached with hostile expressions, and upon seeing David, a sinister grin spread across their faces.

"Did you see that!"

Wallis proudly raised his head. "These are my new friends. I was in pain just now when I met them. They said they could make you feel pain too, so I brought you here. You're finished, David! Incompetent David!"

The burly man licked his lips and grinned maliciously, "Oh ho? You're David? Pansa David?"

"Yes, this one..."

Bang!

Before David could finish speaking, a gunshot rang out.

His pupils contracted, and he instinctively turned to the side.

A flower of blood appeared on his shoulder.

A man standing nearby, holding a flintlock pistol, revealed murderous intent.
