That burly man was no match for Moore.
In no time, he lay on the ground, bruised and swollen, completely out of his mind.
"You can't die, you still have to go back and report to Lieutenant General Kuro."
Moore whistled at the burly man on the ground, then turned around:
"So, what are you going to do? Come back with me?"
David glanced at Wallis, who had fainted in his arms, and shook his head: "Wallis has passed out. I need to take him to get treatment first."
He paused, glanced outside, and said, "You should leave quickly. It wouldn't be good if someone saw the Navy killing someone other than a pirate."
Moore glanced in that direction, scratched his head, and picked up the burly man.
"That's true. Then I'll be going now and come back to find you later. Don't die, okay? If you die, I won't be able to explain myself when Vice Admiral Kuro remembers you."
With a whoosh, he vanished in a flash of white light.
David stared blankly as Moore disappeared, then shook his head with a wry smile, "Ability users... are really convenient."
Shortly after Moore disappeared, a large number of footsteps sounded from the direction they had been looking.
"Quick! Over here!"
Accompanied by the sound, a large group of people rushed towards this direction.
The one leading them was actually an old woman, who rushed forward faster than anyone else.
"Mother-in-law?"
David was stunned. This old woman was someone he knew; she was the same old woman who had just thrown trash at him and made him throw it away.
In the crowd, a little boy pointed at the ruins ahead and shouted:
"That's it! I just saw it, Wallis and David are surrounded!"
"Who dares to bully David! No one can bully David!"
The old woman's face was contorted with rage, but she soon saw the corpse lying in front of her.
In the center of the corpse, David held Wallis, one arm hanging limply at his side, and the aura of the ferocious wolf head finally disappeared.
Upon witnessing this, several people in the crowd immediately changed their expressions.
"Mother-in-law? You, what brings you here?" David asked in astonishment.
"It was what I saw!"
The little boy said, "I saw a lot of people with weapons trying to attack you, so I went home to get help."
David looked at the crowd, all of whom were his neighbors, each with a solemn expression as if something major had happened.
Most importantly, they all had weapons.
There were no flintlock pistols, spears, or swords, let alone wooden sticks, not even a pitchfork.
They were all excellent weapons.
They were just ordinary civilians, so where did they get the weapons?
"you..."
David was about to ask when he suddenly saw his mother-in-law pointing tremblingly at the corpse next to him, "Did you do this?"
There was a hint of expectation in her words.
David thought for a moment. He couldn't say it was the Navy who did it; the Navy had saved him once and seemed to be a good person.
They were currently within the Kingdom of Dressrosa. The navy wasn't killing pirates; getting involved would cause some trouble. He couldn't let the vice admiral who had protected them get into trouble.
Just admit it!
“Yes, I did it,” David nodded.
Thump.
As soon as he finished speaking, several people in the crowd knelt down.
Among these people were the mother-in-law, Wallis's father, and that sleazy guy from before.
"Grandma, what are you doing?!" David exclaimed.
"Finally, finally..."
The mother-in-law cried, "Pansha, you've finally awakened!"
Upon hearing this, all the adults standing nearby knelt down.
"You've awakened, so..."
The sleazy-looking man was also in tears. He gripped his long sword tightly, pointing it at his own abdomen, and said, "Please forgive my offense!"
As he spoke, the knife plunged into his abdomen.
David ran over quickly, kicked the knife out of his hand, and shouted, "What are you doing!"
Even though he reacted quickly, the long knife still penetrated quite a bit, and as he was kicked away, blood flowed from the abdomen of this scoundrel.
"Everything is for your awakening."
Beside her, the old woman raised a pistol, pointed it at her own forehead, and said calmly, "Now that our goal has been achieved, those of us who insulted Pan Sha have no right to live."
Bang!
David kicked the gun out of his mother-in-law's hand with another flick of his foot.
Meanwhile, the others also raised their weapons, pointing them at him one by one.
They were all adults, while the little boy who had greeted them at the beginning looked blank.
"It's all for atonement, my lord..."
Wallis's father smiled and said, "I'm sorry for the injustices you've suffered over the years, and for the injustices your ancestors have endured. Please carry on with the glory of Pansa and strive to move forward."
"Dad, Dad?"
Suddenly, a voice rang out.
Wallis, who was in David's arms, woke up and saw his father holding a weapon and pointing it at him, looking like he was about to commit suicide.
Wallis's voice made the man stop what he was doing. He glanced at Wallis gently, then suddenly banged his head on the ground and said:
"I have another request: please don't blame the children. They are too young to know the truth. Everything they do is simply a result of our subtle influence, which has been passed down from generation to generation."
“But now, it seems unnecessary, sir. You have awakened, and from now on these children will be your servants.”
"Dad, what are you saying?"
Wallis was visibly stunned to see his usually fierce father kneeling down and speaking as if giving his last words.
