Two days later, at sea.
Kuro pointed to one end of the newspaper and smiled at Lida, "See, it still worked! Cass crushed the pirates, proclaimed his 'unyielding justice,' and never mentioned me again."
The newspaper featured a photo of Cass capturing a group of pirates.
Kuro was quite satisfied with this; since he didn't have his own name, he could do whatever he wanted.
"When will we arrive in Balati?"
Lida wasn't interested in that hot-blooded bearded man at all; she just stared at the endless sea and muttered to herself.
"It'll be soon, but there's no need to rush. We have plenty of time in the East China Sea, and I'm at my most free right now."
Kuro lit a cigar and relaxed on the recliner.
Life returned to normal, with no risk of promotion and no pressure to be summoned by headquarters.
Comfortable~
Kro smiled as well; this kind of life was indeed quite nice.
...
While Kuro was enjoying the wonderful life, a bird was soaring in the sky along the Grand Line.
That was Buck.
He flew over the Reverse Mountain, and after several rests, he transformed into different bird forms, searching for a target to strike.
He had to get revenge on that Lucilfer Kuro before he could rest and set sail.
After reaching the Grand Line, he began searching for a target from whom he could take revenge.
An ordinary town?
Insufficient influence.
Naval Headquarters?
He's not strong enough.
Find a place with significant influence, but not overwhelming power, impersonate Kuro, and wreak havoc there.
"Um?"
Buck swooped low, bypassing a rain cloud that clearly foreshadowed a storm, and when he saw the sea again, he spotted a target he liked.
It was an island, and the buildings on it were very interesting, full of futuristic technology, making it seem like a large technological island.
"This is it!"
The technology island must have considerable influence; causing trouble here would definitely cause problems for the navy.
He swooped down, reached the island, and circled once high above it.
There is a navy nearby.
Very good!
Having a navy signifies tight security and considerable influence.
Buck landed on the island, turned into soft mud, and then transformed into Kuro's appearance.
He stared at the buildings ahead and grinned maliciously, "Go ahead and cause a ruckus."
"Buzz!!!"
However, the moment he took a step, the island suddenly blazed with red light and emitted a piercing sound.
"Intruder!"
"Where is he? Catch him quickly!"
The navy sprang into action, rapidly deploying in various locations.
That's quite a lot...
Buck had a bad feeling.
The number of naval personnel on the island was somewhat beyond his expectations, but it didn't look like a naval base.
But then he thought again, if there were a lot of them, and something bad happened, then Kuro would definitely be in big trouble.
This is what Buck loves doing most.
Otherwise, would his title of 'evil imposter' be just for show?
Seeing the navy searching frantically, Buck stretched his arms and legs, then walked over, ready to unleash a massacre.
"Hey, you."
Just then, a voice sounded behind him, and a huge shadow enveloped him.
Buck turned his head and saw a huge man with a scar on his face. He was wearing only a red bellyband with three magatama and a symbol of heaven on it. He was carrying a huge double-edged axe and was nearly three meters tall, looking down at Buck in the form of Kuro.
"I've never seen you before. Who are you?"
"Me? Before asking someone else's name, tell me your own. Who are you?"
Buck answered calmly.
The man in the bellyband curled his lip. "No matter how you ask, it's useless. I won't tell you anything, stranger. I'm the man with the strongest defense in the world, and I'm very tight-lipped."
"Just asking for my name, I'm in the Navy too," Buck asked.
"It's no use saying that, stranger. I am the most tight-lipped man in the world, Sentomaru!"
"...Didn't I just say it out loud?"
"Forehead..."
Sentomaru was taken aback and quickly said, "That was what I wanted to say earlier, not an answer to your question. Who exactly are you? I have no recollection of you on this island, Marine."
"I am Lucilfer Kuro, a lieutenant at the Navy Headquarters. I am here on a mission."
Buck gradually approached the fat, foolish man, preparing to kill him with a single blow.
"Lucil Kuro?"
Sentomaru thought for a moment, "Oh, I know you. The old man thinks highly of you and took you as his direct subordinate. Are you here to see the old man? He happens to be on the island. But you're a bit weak. Why would the old man take a liking to you?"
As he spoke, Buck had already reached Sentomaru, forming a sword with one hand and raising it to thrust straight at him.
"Well, who knows? I'll have that old man go with you to reunite later!"
Just as he was about to stab, a flippant voice rang out beside him.
"Oh? That's strange. Why are you here, Kuro? Weren't you on vacation in the East Blue?"
Light gathered around him.
A tall figure appeared to his side, hands in his pockets, sunglasses slightly lowered, staring at Buck with a strange look.
Upon seeing the approaching figure, Buck froze, his hand poised to stab, and cold sweat instantly poured down his back.
