Chapter 73 Another Meteor

Lida thoroughly enjoyed a meal at Baratie's, which lasted for half a day and cost Kuro three million Berries.

"Well, no one fainted this time in Barati!"

Zeff watched as Lida patted her belly contentedly and laughed heartily, "This is the cook's victory!"

This is a victory for money!

Kuro thought to himself, "This is infuriating."

Kuro spent three million on this meal.

"Hey old man, I've spent so much money here, shouldn't you send me some supplies? My crew needs to eat too," Kuro began to haggle.

"No problem."

Zeff readily agreed: "Actually, the bounties on the pirates you left behind last time were already quite high. Well, I'll prepare supplies for your voyage."

"That's right."

Kuro nodded in satisfaction, waited for Zeff to finish preparing the supplies, said hello, and then headed to the warship.

"Come again next time!"

Paddy waved from outside, tears streaming down her face.

Such generous guests are rare these days.

"Kuro, when are we coming next time?"

On the warship, Lida asked expectantly.

"That's enough!"

Kuro tapped Lida on the head. "At least consider my salary and your appetite. You can come only once in a while!"

Although he became a lieutenant at headquarters, his salary increased significantly, reaching one million Berries a month.

Food and lodging are free; the government provides them with good food and drink, and they can apply for subsidies if there are any problems.

But even Lida's antics couldn't withstand it.

To prevent Lida from spending money recklessly, the money is no longer managed by Lida, but is now all put in Chloe's hands.

After all, he came from a family of butlers and was very good at managing finances. Kuro was very reassured that Kuro was in charge of it.

The supplies given by Baratie were handed over to the sergeant on board, and the warship continued its voyage.

Kuro is now under the headquarters and has special privileges in the branches, allowing him to freely dock at various branches. Therefore, he doesn't need to return to Branch 153, nor does he want to, to avoid giving that idiot Cass too much to think about.

However, thanks to Tokas, he hasn't encountered any pirates lately.

Sailing leisurely in the East China Sea, life couldn't be more comfortable.

...

After sailing in the East China Sea for a few more days, the sun was shining brightly again. Kuro set up a deck chair on the deck and sunbathed there shirtless.

"Lieutenant, we are about to reach an island. Should we make repairs?"

The sergeant came over and reported.

"As usual, let's replenish our supplies and take a day off. Well, it's a rare day off, so let's not be too serious."

Kuro, with a cigar in his mouth, casually addressed the sergeant.

His vacation is going to be quite long, at least a few months, but Kuro is determined not to leave the East Blue.

The East China Sea is so vast, with so many places to visit. I wouldn't dare say I'd visit them all, but I could certainly spend some time exploring.

"Why do you need to resupply on every island? Wouldn't it be better to just go to the amusement island 'Morgati'?"

Lida, wearing a short-sleeved shirt, lay down next to Kuro, took a sip of juice, and said longingly, "I've heard there's a lot of fun in 'Morgati,' let's go there quickly."

"What do you know?"

Kuro said irritably, "I'm asking you, how much supply do we have left on the ship?"

“We just received our supplies the day before yesterday…” Lida was somewhat speechless.

"Yeah, we've already lost two days' worth. What does that mean? The supplies on the ship can only feed the navy for three months, and now we only have two months and twenty-eight days left. Plus, you're such a glutton; half the food in the hold is your stockpile. That means we only have enough to eat for one month and thirteen days..."

Lida watched Kuro launch into his long-winded speech speechlessly and sighed.

Here he comes, he's here, he's coming with his lines.

Next, just in case...

"What if we encounter a storm or something, and what if this storm traps us for more than a month, and we don't have enough food? Wouldn't we go hungry?"

And so, that's why...

"So we must plan ahead. The food in the cabin must be kept full, and the repair materials must also be packed. Otherwise, I won't feel at ease when I go out to sea."

The cowardice is justified and well-founded.

"Yes, yes, you're right..."

Lida sighed.

Kuro is great in every way, except when it comes to this problem, he's even more cautious than her, and he always goes on and on, to the point that she's tired of hearing it. She's practically memorized his lines.

Kuro pushed up his glasses and went off to look at the sea before Kuro could launch into his long-winded speech.

If he weren't outmatched, he would have loved to deliver a vicious blow to Kuro with his claw blade.

...

The warship moved forward and docked on an island.

Lida glanced at it and suddenly froze. "It's Germora."

“Jermoro”.

Kuro, having changed his clothes, came out and laughed upon hearing this, "Oh, that island you ate up, I wonder how Mayor Mendel is doing now."

Without Lida, that lazy bum who squanders all her wealth, the town should have returned to its former order.

The group led the navy to the only town on the island, and as Kuro had expected, the town had now returned to its former order.

Kuro had his men buy supplies in town before entering Mendel's house.

"Hahaha, long time no see, Kuro! Thanks to you, the town can finally have enough to eat!"

The current mayor of Mendel is no longer the emaciated man who was starving; he has become strong and vigorous, and his features look exceptionally energetic.

No matter how you look at Kuro, he seems awkward.
