After Kuro finished fleecing the soldiers, he let them rest for half a day to recover their strength before leading them towards Stone City, the capital of Korf.
As the capital of Kolf Island and a trading center, it attracts many forces seeking to purchase stones and bomb rocks. These forces are led by designated individuals. On Kolf Island, other forces are not allowed to wander around; anyone caught doing so will be considered an enemy.
Such domineering practices have allowed Kolf Island to stand to this day, thanks to the former king, Noardi.
He possesses a peculiar ability: once someone enters the island, no one can escape his detection.
Pirates had invaded before, but without exception, they were all captured by Noadi and enslaved. No matter where they landed, they all failed.
King Noadi is very strong.
But that straw hat kid seems to be even stronger...
Since the Straw Hats arrived, Kolf Island has changed beyond recognition. Chaos permeates the entire island, and this doesn't need the soldier to tell you; the desolate scenes Kuro has witnessed along his journey are proof enough.
The island was littered with corpses—pirates, soldiers, and civilians alike. The villages we passed through were all dilapidated and filled with a desolate atmosphere.
Kuro stopped at a certain spot and looked at a corpse lying in the middle of the road. The corpse was only the size of a boy, and his face and front of his body were blown to pieces, making it impossible to see anything. He was still tightly gripping a stone in his hand, as if he was still fighting desperately before he died.
He walked over, stared at the corpse for a while, then looked elsewhere. Not far from the road, there were some broken walls and ruins, covered in charred soot.
That was caused by the bomb rock.
Kuro flicked his finger, and the earth around the corpse began to writhe, enveloping the body and forming a huge stone mound.
Then, after thinking for a moment, he moved his finger again, and many grooves appeared in front of the stone bag, each groove being exactly the size of a human head.
"I will offer their heads as a sacrifice."
Kuro said something casually and continued forward.
He had made up his mind: regardless of whether the alliance with the member states succeeded or not, he would not leave a single pirate alive on this island.
After walking for a while, Kuro finally saw the so-called Stone City, the capital of Korf. It was a typical medieval city-state, divided into a town below the city and a castle. The castle was located at the highest point, and the stone used for its construction was exquisitely carved. Below the castle was a larger town with no city walls, only some soldiers patrolling the various checkpoints.
Just then, a group of soldiers spotted the large naval force advancing. After a moment of surprise, one of them exclaimed, "Navy! The navy is here!"
"Oh! So the world government that King Aquitaine spoke of has finally arrived!"
"Quickly, inform King Aquitaine!"
Several soldiers ran back quickly, and at that moment, one of the soldiers with sharp eyes spotted someone who was different from the group of people in white uniforms.
The man shouted, "Meg! You're alive!"
"Is that Wu Lai? Yes, I'm lucky, I'm still alive." The soldiers in the group excitedly ran out of the naval ranks to join the others.
"Some people said your entire army was wiped out. I didn't see you, so I thought you were one of them..."
“I was lucky to be rescued by the navy, but the others…” The soldier lowered his head, full of disappointment.
"It's good that you're back. There will be other opportunities!" The man patted the soldier on the shoulder, then bowed to Kuro and the others who were walking over, saying, "Thank you so much for saving our man's life!"
Kuro waved his hand, "That doesn't matter. As for your king, I'm a member of the Navy that the World Government is inspecting. Just call me Kuro."
"Um, then Ku..."
"Um?!"
Before the soldier could finish speaking, Kuro couldn't hold back any longer. He snorted coldly and said, "This is the G-3 branch base commander, a vice admiral codenamed 'Golden Lion' who is directly under Admiral Kizaru. Show some respect, you can call him Vice Admiral Golden Lion, or Lord Golden Lion!"
Just then, Kuro, who was biting his cigar, looked up with an arrogant expression.
It's not for showing off...
It was purely a coincidence; he just happened to be looking up to smoke a cigar.
Yes, that's it.
"General, general..."
The soldier pursed his lips, somewhat stunned.
Even if they weren't members of the World Government, they had heard of the Admiral's name.
And Admiral Kizaru's direct subordinates, aren't they extremely important people?
"Lord Jinni..." the soldier said.
"No, no, stop!"
Kuro quickly waved his hand, "Just call me Kuro, I'm very low-key, it would make me feel embarrassed if you called me that."
The soldier blinked, but seeing the unfriendly look on the man's face in the black suit and glasses, he ultimately didn't listen to Kuro's words.
“Lord Jinni, please follow me. The king has instructed that if he sees you, he will escort you directly to the castle.”
“Alright, lead the way,” Kuro said.
There were quite a few people, a thousand or so. As soon as they entered the city, they caused nearby residents to whisper among themselves, but most of them had happy expressions on their faces.
"The World Government has sent people, and the navy too. Does that mean our country will be at peace?!"
"Peace is good! I haven't worked for a long time, and now I'm afraid to go out. We're almost out of food at home, and there's not enough food in the city either. Luckily they came. I don't know what to do."
As they passed through the town, before even reaching the castle, a group of figures rushed towards them. Leading them was a young man wearing a grey-gray mink cloak. Before he even reached them, he shouted:
