No sooner had he finished speaking than Shiki suddenly raised his sword, and instantly, shadows enveloped the island.
In a world where the vast majority of the landmass is ocean, what is the greatest natural disaster?
The answer is tsunami.
This is a floating island, and the surrounding sea is also floating. But if the entire sea suddenly erupts and a tsunami gathers inward, that would be no small matter.
At least Kuro didn't think it was a small matter.
The towering tsunami rose high, its shadow covering the entire island. Compared to the height of the tsunami, Kuro felt as insignificant as an ant.
At this level, there's simply no way to stop it.
"Gurgle gurgle—"
Lida struggled in the raindrops, but Kro broke through the water, then shattered Lida's water sphere with a claw strike.
Lida landed on the ground, coughed a few times, looked in horror at the tsunami that resembled a high wall, then gritted her teeth and ran over to try to reach Kuro and restore some of his strength.
"No, it's not necessary."
At this moment, Kuro slowly sheathed his sword and looked at the golden lion in the sky with a complicated expression.
Shiki didn't speak; he simply stood in the sky.
A sword that had been floating around him suddenly crashed down.
At the same time, the massive tsunami that had been rising also crashed down.
"We lost..."
Shiki forced a smile and hoarsely asked Kuro, "Kid, where are you from?"
"East Sea," Kuro said slowly.
"Oh... I've been defeated by a man from the East Blue again. Interesting, one's a pirate, the other's a Marine..."
He raised his head, slowly raising his one-armed arm, his five fingers outstretched towards the sky. "So that's how it is. My era has long since passed..."
The sword he was holding fell from his hand with his movement, and both swords landed in front of Kuro at the same time.
"Take your spoils! Cut off my head, inherit my name, and let your fame spread throughout the seas, Lucilfer Kuro!!!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the golden lion smiled and stood motionless in the sky, like a statue.
The lion swallowing the dragon displays its power and might.
The lion is old; its arrogance has faded.
"She's not breathing."
Lida exclaimed, "He's dead, Kuro!"
"I know."
Kuro glanced at the two swords and said, "Sorry, I have no interest in becoming famous, and I don't want your head either. Since you've become a legend, then let you remain a legend quietly. However, I'll gladly accept the sword; after all, it's a [Famous Sword]."
Unfortunately, the Golden Lion could not hear these words.
He had closed his eyes and was falling to the ground.
Rumble...
The earth is cracking, decomposing, and sinking deeper and deeper.
"They're gone. The Golden Lion is dead, and his power has naturally dissipated. This floating island is about to crash."
Kuro picked up the two swords, used Moonwalk to ascend into the sky.
This is the ocean, there's nothing below, so falling in won't hurt. Kuro doesn't need to worry about hitting anything.
Huh? A sea monster?
That's just bad luck for the sea monster.
The group leaped into the air and headed towards Germora Island.
The floating islands then completely fell into the sea, and several islands collided with each other, forming a new island in the ocean.
The golden lion's body sank into the sea and was never seen again.
"Old man, I do appreciate your guidance."
Kuro glanced back at the spot where he had sunk. "I'll burn paper money for you during festivals."
...
On Germora Island, after five days, people have calmed down from the panic of almost being hit by the island.
When Kuro and the others returned, the Navy had not yet left.
Of course they couldn't leave; their superior was nowhere to be found, so there was no way for them to go.
However, when Kuro and his group returned, most of the Marines were not there.
Kuro ignored him and headed straight for Mayor Mendel's house.
"Oh! Kuro, you're finally back!"
Mayor Mendel's house had been repaired, and seeing Kuro return in a disheveled state, he quickly went to help him up.
Kuro waved his hand, "Don't touch me. Go help someone else and get me something to eat. I'm starving."
After fighting for five days, which meant five days without food, Kuro was already at his breaking point.
He entered Mendel's house, slumped into a chair, and gasped for breath.
Lida leaned against Kuro's legs without any regard for her image, looking completely powerless.
Kuro, his legs trembling, found a corner to lean against. He was so weak that he could barely move, let alone participate in the battle. If he hadn't been afraid of falling into the sea, he would have collapsed on the island.
This level is terrifying.
Mendel didn't say much, and quickly found some bread and apples and put them on the table.
Kuro picked up a piece of bread and finished it in a few bites.
Like a hungry tiger pouncing on its prey, Lida leaped onto the table, her hands moving like blurs as she frantically devoured the food.
She maintained a girlish demeanor and Observation Haki throughout, daring not to eat anything from the island, nor to finish the food in her bag. She only ate something when she was extremely hungry, and she was already starving.
"What have you all been doing? You're all starving like this. It really breaks my heart to see such good men starving like this."
Mayor Mendel looked at Kuro and Kro with pity, while ignoring Lida.
Mendel served food several times before Kuro finally felt full. He patted his stomach, leaned back in his chair, and looked at [Sakura Ten] and [Kikura], whom he had brought back, with a complicated expression.
A powerhouse of Golden Lion's caliber could break through his trump card, the Yellow Dragon.
