Not long after, the sergeant returned and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Kuro and the others.
He was about to report Kuro's disappearance to headquarters when, thankfully, they showed up.
"Lieutenant, where have you been? You've been missing for five days," the sergeant asked.
"There was an old man with a ship's wheel on his head who was so hospitable. We played with him for five days. Alright, let's set sail. You've had enough rest in five days."
General Kuro gave a vague answer, and the sergeant saluted before going out to gather the navy and begin loading supplies onto the ship.
By this time, Kro was full and had eaten his fill. He was resting his elbows on the table, his chin raised with the back of his hand, striking a pose like a 'thinker'.
What are you thinking about?
After Lida finished eating the food at Mayor Mendel's house, she started taking out her small backpack, pulling out an apple while glancing at Crow.
Kuro glanced at Kuro, who was lounging there like a salted fish, smoking a cigar, and said, "I don't think this will work."
"What's wrong?"
“Mr. Kuro’s position is too low. He is too low to resist orders. Even though he is Admiral Kizaru’s direct subordinate, he cannot refuse orders from his superiors.”
"This will put him in a very passive position. Since he has become a member of the Navy, a certain status is necessary. At least a colonel is required for Mr. Kuro to have more freedom of power."
During this time, Kuro did not only train to become stronger, but he also constantly explored the rank system in the Navy.
Kuro remembered what Kuro had said when he invited him aboard the ship: to use his 'wisdom'.
After so many days, he had gained some understanding of naval positions.
Although a lieutenant-class officer is an officer who has the authority to lead a cruiser to inspect the sea area, they are still too restricted. Kuro is still relatively free now because he is Kizaru's direct subordinate.
But when faced with a real call-up from his superiors, Kuro can't keep disobeying them, as that wouldn't align with his strategy of seeking safety and comfort.
As his advisor, he had to come up with a solution that would satisfy both sides.
The best solution is a promotion.
Kuro could only disobey orders if he reached the rank of colonel, and as long as it was within the rules, he would not be punished.
The battle with the Golden Lion, in particular, taught Kuro a lot.
Staying in the East China Sea all the time is fine, but there are also many uncontrollable factors.
If they had a higher status, could they deploy a large number of warships to make their operations easier?
“Kuro doesn’t like to make a name for himself, you know that.” Lida was also somewhat tempted.
If Kuro has a high status, she can eat even more.
"It's best not to let Mr. Kuro know. After all, he's a Marine, and under Admiral Kizaru's command, a promotion is only a matter of time. What we need is a push."
"How do we do it?" Lida glanced at Kuro and asked quietly.
There's only one answer...
Kuro pushed up his glasses, which gleamed. "Catch the pirates."
"Find an opportunity to secretly capture a pirate with a high bounty and hand him over to headquarters," Kro said.
"It looks pretty good."
Lida nodded. "But it seems like there aren't any pirates with high bounties in the East Blue. The only one with a high bounty, that old guy, is sunk to the bottom of the sea."
Kro said, "We'll get to the Grand Line. We have plenty of time, there's no rush. If you agree, we're halfway there."
"Okay, you can take charge. Just let me know when the time comes."
Lida nodded, and was about to say something when she noticed something making a sound in her arms.
"Boom boom boom..."
Lida pulled out a Den Den Mushi (a type of Den Den Mushi) shaped like a watch.
This belongs to Kuro; he entrusted it to me for safekeeping during the previous battle.
"Kuro, your phone."
Lida ran up to Kuro and handed him the Den Den Mushi.
"Telephone?"
Kuro took it, and upon seeing the Den Den Mushi's expression, his veins bulged.
The Den Den Mushi's expression turned unusually lewd, and that lewd expression was infuriating no matter how you looked at it.
"Hello!"
"Kuro, what business do you have with this old man?"
"I contacted you five days ago, and you're only replying now? Never mind, I just wanted to ask if you've finished trimming your nails!"
Snap!
Kuro angrily pressed the button on his watch, hung up the Den Den Mushi, and then put the watch on his wrist.
This old man certainly knows how to offer hindsight advice.
What use is he now?
"Lida, why are you still eating? Pack up and let's go."
Kuro watched as Lida continued to take fruit out of her backpack and asked curiously, "How much food are you hiding in your bag?"
He remembered that the backpack was from five days ago, and it was strange that she hadn't finished eating it yet.
"a lot of!"
Lida said smugly, "I've stored up a lot of food reserves, just in case I go hungry. I still have half left."
As she spoke, she escaped one by one from her backpack.
"This is an apple."
"banana."
"Pineapple."
"cantaloupe."
"watermelon."
"And there's more..."
Kuro watched as she pulled out a large amount of fruit from her bag, which barely reached half her body, and couldn't help but smirk.
What is this?
Another-Dimensional Pocket?
That bag can hold so much fruit, and even a watermelon?
"And this, peach..."
Lida took out a fruit from her bag that was as big as her head. The fruit was covered with mysterious patterns and was sky blue in color.
Seeing the fruit, Lida tilted her head. "Strange, isn't this a peach? What is this? Do I have this fruit?"
