Chapter 9: What Misconceptions About Power

"Are you kidding me? Let me see the report!"

Kuro, who had been relaxed just moments before, snatched the report from Cass's hand and began to examine it closely.

Then he despaired.

It really is headquarters.

The report stated that he was transferred to headquarters for further training.

"Impossible, it's impossible. My achievements are enough for a promotion, but there seems to be no reason for me to go to headquarters." Kuro scratched his hair in anguish.

"It's our achievement."

Cass said smugly, "It's all thanks to Lieutenant Colonel Lipa and me. We felt it was a waste for you to stay in the East China Sea, so we gave you all the credit."

You scoundrel!

Kuro's gaze was almost like a sharp sword, capable of piercing Cass to death.

Cass felt a chill run through him and shivered inexplicably. He glanced out the window in confusion.

It's not cold at all.

"Lieutenant Kuro, this is a small token of our appreciation from our 153rd branch. You have made great contributions, and it would be a shame if you didn't go to headquarters for further training. As for your health, we are unable to help you. I'm sure that magical place on the Grand Line might have a solution for your health."

Kas is full of enthusiasm, like the rising sun.

Kuro was as depressed as ice.

"Warrant Lieutenant, are you going by yourself, or are you going together when headquarters comes to take over Monka?"

"Let me think about it some more. Thank you very much. You can go out now."

Kuro rubbed his forehead and said weakly.

"Then I'll take my leave."

Cass retreated, muttering, "Strange, Warrant Officer Kuro doesn't seem very interested. It's probably just my imagination. He must be too happy to accept it right now."

Thinking about this made Cass happy, and he even hummed a little tune as he walked.

"How can it be repaired!"

Once he was sure Cass had left, Kuro shouted loudly at the sea outside the window.

"What's going on? This isn't how it's supposed to be! There are so many powerful beings on the Grand Line, why should I go there and deal with them? I'm not strong enough!"

Lida looked at him with disdain. Did this man have some misunderstanding about what it means to be powerful?

"Are you going to the Grand Line?"

"go!"

Kuro gritted his teeth and said, "Whether I go sooner or later, I'll go anyway. It's better to leave now, otherwise I might be in even more trouble if someone comes to take over Morgan."

It was Garp who received Morgan's message.

That kind of unreliable, troublemaking old scoundrel is also very strong. If he discovers your strength, you're really in trouble.

If he goes to headquarters now, at worst he'll just be an ordinary navy officer there, and if he performs too poorly, he might even be sent back to the Shikai branch.

“Then I want to go eat at Balati. I’ve heard so much about this sea restaurant in the East China Sea. Let’s go there on the way.” Lida’s eyes lit up.
