This kind of thing was naturally left to Kro; he only needed to give instructions.
Otherwise, why would he take on subordinates?
It's only subordinates who are tools of their superiors; there's no such thing as a superior being a tool of his subordinates.
Even if I didn't want to do it, I still had to because the old man had something to do.
After spending a few more days in the South China Sea, Kuro returned directly to headquarters.
He's had enough fun, so he should go back to headquarters and rest for a while to avoid being accused of slacking off.
He's not Garp, who can slack off without a care in the world. He still needs to be mindful of his image. He should go back and rest for a while, pretending that he's tired of searching for the Seven Warlords of the Sea. After resting, he can go back to 'searching for the Seven Warlords of the Sea'. He can repeat this process, making slacking off easy and polite.
He was comfortable, and Lida was also enjoying her daily shopping and eating. The only one who wasn't comfortable was Chloe.
After entering headquarters, he got busy with the things Mr. Kuro had asked him to do.
Mr. Kuro made it sound so easy, but it's actually quite troublesome to do.
Mr. Kuro's request was complicated. First, he needed to find an undercover agent. But the secret team 'Sword' was a small team, so the number of members was actually not many. After all, going undercover for a pirate crew was not an honor that an ordinary pirate crew could have.
In places like the South China Sea, only special pirate crews like the Longsword Pirates have such crews; they are mostly old forces that have been on the sea for many years.
The Grand Line is a given, and the New World has even more. Even in the Four Seas, there are old forces that are unwilling to go to the Grand Line and only want to plunder within the Four Seas. However, these forces are not small in size and are not on the level of the former 'East Blue Overlord' Krieg. Those are not worth mentioning.
The Longsword Pirates are on par with the Vinsmoke Family of the North Blue.
Only in this way can an undercover agent be infiltrated.
However, it is inherently difficult for such pirate crews to rise to the top.
Not every undercover agent has the qualifications of O. Kadeer, nor does every undercover agent possess the strength of Drake, who could become one of the "Six" upon joining Kaido's crew.
The reason Drake is called "Six" is because he is a Zoan-type Devil Fruit user, but even with this kind of existence, he is only worthy of being called "Six". He is still far from being a "top-tier" member.
However, none of the other pirate crews have the scale of Kaido.
But the other undercover agents weren't this high quality.
They're all just ordinary marines. Even with CP's assassination attempts, he wouldn't be able to rise to power. Besides, the CP organization might not be able to defeat these pirate captains, and even Kuro himself might not be guaranteed a win.
If assassinations were so easy, there wouldn't be so many pirates in the world.
Even if we were to promote those undercover agents, it wouldn't be convincing to the public.
This task is exceptionally difficult.
But if the boss gives the order, the subordinates have to run themselves ragged. Even if it's a sure thing to fail, you can't hand in your work without trying.
We can't put him in the captain's position for now, but we can still do the review process.
Lucci dispatched Kaku and Kuro to travel the world, beginning to investigate those who had infiltrated pirate crews.
The target is a member of 'Sword' who has been undercover for more than five years. The 'Sword' squad members work in coordination with CP to be responsible for infiltrating the world.
Meanwhile, Kro and Kaku formed a team and led a patrol to the bottom to prevent any accidents.
As for the information that Kuro believed, it naturally reached Kuro's hands as well.
Looking at his analysis report, Kuro, who was in his own office at headquarters, nodded. "The analysis is good. I was just assuming things were right."
Lida, with a piece of bread in her mouth, turned her head and asked, "What is it?"
"Sword's approach to the situation, and my suggestion to help him become captain, was a bit too simplistic."
Kuro shrugged. "Forget it, let's review it first, and put the rest aside for now."
He doesn't feel ashamed; everyone makes mistakes sometimes.
It's perfectly normal for a decision to be flawed and unable to be implemented.
The idea of being perfect and invincible simply doesn't exist.
If someone claims to be invincible and infallible on the high seas, there's only one possibility: they've never seen the world.
"Where do you want to go next, Lida?" Kuro asked Lida.
“Baratie,” Lida blurted out.
"Are you obsessed with Baratie? Why do you keep running there?" Kuro rolled his eyes.
"The food is delicious, and the owner is nice too. I really like it there." Lida's eyes crinkled into crescent moons with laughter.
"Alright, alright, whatever you say..."
...
The New World, the waters near Dressrosa.
Chaos reigns here, as Dressrosa has begun to expand again, and war has swept across a large area of the sea around Dressrosa. Nobles in all inhabited towns and countries are living in fear.
The pirate crew that sheltered them was no match for Dressrosa, or rather, no match for the Dressrosa Navy and the Navy of the Kingdom of Kolf. The pirate crews in the vicinity were either wiped out or fled in panic.
Without the protection of pirates, they can only wait for Dressrosa to come and conquer them, and then be incorporated into its territory.
The war continues, and so does the turmoil it causes.
Turbulence brings chaos, and chaos brings opportunity. Some pirate crews are quite daring and are preparing to take advantage of the situation to seize the territory abandoned by other pirate crews.
On the high seas, a dozen or so pirate ships were sailing. On one of the huge ships, a pirate wearing a fur shoulder pad looked at a huge pirate with a horn on his head who was sitting on a large chair on the deck.
