After a hearty meal and drinks, the sailors chatted and boasted in small groups, while Kro silently rose and walked towards the warship.
What a great opportunity!
A cold glint flashed in Buck's eyes. He glanced around, stood up, and said anxiously, "Lieutenant Kuro, I'll go take care of this..."
Kuro waved his hand, signaling him to leave quickly.
Buck also walked in the direction of Chloe. He gradually disappeared into the darkness and reappeared in Chloe's appearance.
He didn't go after Kro, because he might not have enough time, and besides, he wasn't the main target.
Buck headed toward the highest tent, and as soon as he arrived, he said, "Mr. Kuro, I need to talk to you."
He imitated Chloe, speaking calmly and even adjusting his glasses.
When I push up my glasses, I always feel like something's missing.
Is it because you're missing a belt or something...?
Kuro glanced at him. "What's up? Hmm? Didn't bring anything? Want to practice taijutsu today? Okay, let's go."
Kuro patted his butt, looked at Lida who was still eating, and couldn't help but yell, "Lida! Stop eating and come train!"
Lida was still gnawing on a bone-in leg of meat when she heard Kuro's words. She chewed the meat and bone together in one bite and followed behind Kuro.
train?
Buck was overjoyed. The training was great! He was just wondering what excuse to use to trick Kuro away, but now he didn't even need an excuse!
The group walked towards the interior of the island and soon disappeared without a trace.
A short while later, Kro, carrying a small leather suitcase and a knife at his waist, came over. Looking at the empty tent, he tilted his head, a question mark appearing in his glasses.
Where are they?
...
Inside the island, Kuro and his companions walked further in, gradually moving away from human habitation.
That night, the stars and moon were hidden, and clouds rose from the east, obscuring the sky.
There are no lighting facilities, and it gets darker and darker the further you go in.
Buck walked at the back, watching the two figures ahead gradually become indistinct, a sinister smile slowly creeping onto his face.
It's time to get started!
Kill those two, impersonate Kuro, and then head straight to the Grand Line.
Buck twitched his fingers, preparing to strangle the two, one big and one small, when Kuro suddenly stopped and turned to look at him.
As the dark clouds dispersed, a huge full moon was revealed. Bathed in moonlight, the island appeared as if draped in a layer of silver, gradually revealing its form.
Kuro was standing in an open space, surrounded by mountain peaks that had lost their peaks.
The scattered silver light also covered Kuro, giving him a faint glow, while the shadows obscured his face, making it impossible to see any expression, only a somewhat sinister look.
We've been discovered?!
Buck was startled and stopped what he was about to do, staring at Kuro with apprehension.
Kuro scratched his head. "Well, here it is. Lida, he wants to practice physical techniques, you fight him."
"It's me again... I don't want to play. I just ate something and don't want to get hungry again so soon. I'm so tired."
Lida shook her head: "Speaking of which, I think I sensed some danger just now. Are there any wild animals here?"
"Impossible, you must be mistaken. Where would a wild beast come from here?" Kuro categorically denied.
Why?
“I know this place very well. I’ve been here for many years. There used to be wild animals here, but they’re all gone now.”
"Familiar?"
Lida looked around, then suddenly realized what had happened and pointed at the mountains in astonishment, "You...you did this?!"
She recalled Kuro's so-called training method, which involved constantly chopping down mountains. She had previously wondered where those mountains came from, since there weren't that many mountains on the ocean for Kuro to carve.
She has found it now.
There really are that many mountains!
Kuro nodded. "I really miss those days of training. Oh well, I'll do it today. I haven't exercised in a long time, and this place... definitely needs some exercise."
What's the meaning?
Was it not discovered?
It's good that it wasn't discovered.
Judging from the situation, does he want to train with me?
Do these people have a habit of training alone at night?
Very good!
This is the perfect opportunity to strike!
Kuro cracked his neck and beckoned to Buck with his finger, "Come on, attack."
You asked for it!
Buck suddenly lunged forward, extending two of his five fingers like sharp swords, aiming straight for Kuro's neck.
He is skilled in swordsmanship, but the fact that he doesn't have a knife doesn't mean he's not capable of fighting. You don't need a knife to deal with someone like him.
One strike and I'll kill you!
*Smack*
A hand grabbed his wrist, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get an inch forward.
How could that be!
Buck's eyes widened. His move was a sword thrust, and its power was no less than that of wielding a knife. Its speed was also comparable to that of the elites of the Marine Headquarters. He knew that some of those elites knew a high-speed movement technique, and the speed of his move was already comparable to that.
How could a mere lieutenant possibly capture him?!
Kuro gave him a disdainful look. "What's wrong with you? You've been practicing for so long and this is what you come up with? Didn't you say you invented a new move?"
"Using the arm as a knife for a thrust?"
Lida remarked from the side, "Kroo, your speed is actually decreasing instead of increasing."
Kuro twisted his hand, and Buck felt his entire body fly up. Kuro slammed him to the ground, and the immense force caused his body to slide along the ground and crash into a small rocky hill not far away.
"Hurry up, if this is your new move, you're finished today."
Kuro clenched his fists, filled with disappointment.
