The red-skinned elder had no time to dodge and could only cross his arms to block the wolf knight's heavy sword strike. With a surge of momentum, the red-skinned elder smashed open the gate of Pangu Palace. Amidst the shattering gate, the two entered the darkness inside and gradually disappeared from Kuro's sight.
Kuro blinked, looking at the shattered remains of the gate on the ground, blinked again, and finally rubbed his eyes with his hand.
The wind blew, ruffling Kuro's hair and bringing a calm to his face.
He was even... somewhat dazed.
"Kuro, what's wrong?"
Lida, who appeared out of nowhere, saw Kuro's dazed expression and asked curiously.
Kuro remained silent for a moment, then suddenly pointed to the place where ice and greenery intertwined, and said, "Do you see it?"
“I see, Kuzan and Green Bull are fighting,” Lida nodded.
"Hmm, why are you fighting?" Kuro asked.
“I don’t know,” Lida asked curiously.
"Yeah, I didn't know either, how did you know?"
Kuro took a deep breath, picked up a piece of the gate from the ground, squeezed it, and said, "This thing is so easy to break? It's the capital gate of the World Government, after all. It can't be, right? It can't be, right? Lida, tell me, am I dreaming? Am I actually still fighting at headquarters? I fell asleep because I was too tired from fighting."
"Huh?" Lida tilted her head and asked, "Are you tired, Kuro?"
Just then, Kuro appeared behind him and softly called, "Mr. Kuro..."
Whoosh!
In an instant, without even turning his body, Kuro flung the shard away. The fragment of the door grazed Kuro's body like a dart, leaving a wound from which blood flowed.
"Does it hurt?" Kuro asked.
Kro quickly shook his head: "No, it doesn't hurt."
"Right! It doesn't hurt, he said it doesn't hurt, Elida!"
Kuro shouted, "Only in dreams can I not feel pain. I must be dreaming. Hmm... as long as I close my eyes and open them again, the dream will end."
As he spoke, he closed his eyes, then opened them again...
Hmm, maybe my posture is wrong.
He changed his posture, floated up, lay horizontally in the air as if he had just woken up, and even yawned before opening his eyes again.
Um...
Perhaps the force was insufficient.
To wake up from a dream, you have to do it all at once, like relieving yourself. First, hold it in, and then... um!
When Kuro opened his eyes again, he saw the same clear sky over Mary Geoise.
He floated up, landed back on the ground, and took a breath.
"Kuro, who were those people, David and Lida?" Lida asked curiously.
"What David? There's no David. You're mistaken. That red-skinned guy isn't one of the Five Elders either. The ocean is so vast, there are red-skinned old men everywhere, and people wearing armor and carrying greatswords everywhere. Besides, this is all a dream. As long as I close my eyes again, I'll go back. Damn it, why are there only idiots like you in my dreams!"
Kuro muttered curses as he closed his eyes again.
But as he closed his eyes, he heard footsteps, and it seemed like there were many people.
"Kuro, a lot of Marines have run in."
"Shut up, I won't listen, it's all an illusion, what navy, it's all a fog, an illusion, all an illusion, I'm dreaming!" Kuro closed his eyes and remained unmoved, even turning in a different direction.
"This is real, this isn't a dream!!"
A thunderous sound rang in Kuro's ears, startling him so much that he instinctively opened his eyes, his mouth pursed involuntarily, his teeth clenched, his pupils gradually becoming bloodshot, and his face looking utterly miserable.
Cass and Wilbur stood amidst the surging tide of the navy pouring into Pangaea, staring intently at him.
"It's true, Mr. Kuro!"
Cass's face flushed red, and he clenched his fists excitedly, shouting, "Your long-cherished wish is on the verge of being fulfilled! Don't worry, this is not a dream, it's the result of our hard work!"
These words stunned Kuro even more. He took a deep breath, his voice trembling slightly, and asked in an tone of absolute disbelief, "What have you been trying to do?"
He's not stupid, really, really not stupid.
Mary Geoise didn't see any enemies, but instead saw David. The navy, after arriving, didn't look for any enemies; they headed straight for Pangaea. Their movements were so unified, without the slightest hesitation. Although it seemed unlikely, it was very possible...
David seems, maybe, probably, perhaps... to want something different.
But so what if it's different? What does what Cass said mean? What does "my long-cherished wish" mean?
What is my long-cherished wish?
Can I go to a retirement home?
As Kuro asked the question, Wilbur's face lit up with excitement, "The ultimate dream of world peace, Mr. Kuro! Your long-held wish, isn't that...?"
Whoosh!
Kuro flashed into the Pangu Palace, disappearing with the surging tide of marines.
"Mr. Kuro!"
Wilbur turned and called out, but there was no one there. He wondered, "Are you too excited?"
“Definitely!” Cass nodded vigorously. “Mr. Kuro just said he was dreaming, and even he couldn’t believe it. What does this mean? It means we can finally help Mr. Kuro!!”
As he spoke, tears streamed down his face. "Finally, finally I can help Mr. Kuro! All along, I've been following Mr. Kuro's plans, and I always thought I'd never be able to keep up with him. But now even Mr. Kuro thinks he's dreaming, which means our efforts have finally paid off!"
