Chapter 471 Pirate Town

With warm clothes, Kuro lifted Lion Head Island up, then flew off in the direction he had memorized.

After flying for a while, Kuro found his destination, a huge mountainous island, with mountains covering almost half of the island.

On this island, there is a huge town that runs from the port all the way to the center of the island.

Kuro gazed at the sky for a while, then began to descend.

The stormy weather conveniently obscured everyone's view.

Kuro landed in a corner of the port town and walked out from there.

The torrential rain made the streets seem deserted. Some people hurried by wearing hooded cloaks. The surrounding houses were all low bungalows, and many of them had only been simply repaired on the roof, making them look very poor.

But the strange thing is that the streets here are very clean.

"Let's find out where we are first."

Kuro took a step, preparing to walk out of the alley, but just then, a hand grabbed his ankle.

"Um?"

He turned his gaze and saw a hunched-over man huddled in the corner, almost lying on the ground in the pouring rain. He didn't know where the man got the strength, but the man's withered hands gripped his ankle tightly, and he raised his head, which looked like a skull, full of longing.

"Young man, please give me some money. I haven't eaten for three days."

Kuro glanced at him, then stretched out his palm, and inexplicably, a piece of very fine fur fell down from the pouring rain.

He stretched out his hand, and just like that, he cut through the fur, separating a piece of it, which floated and flew to the man's side.

"I have no money, my pockets are emptier than my face. I never carry money when I go out. This fur looks pretty good, you can take it and exchange it for money."

Kuro moved his foot and pulled the man's hand away.

"Do you have any food? Food will do, I don't want money," the man pleaded.

Kuro frowned: "Everyone says I'm broke. I have hands and feet, can't I even exchange this for something else?"

"Are you trying to make me leave?! You bad person, I'm not leaving!"

The beggar gritted his teeth, and with a strength he didn't know he had, he stood up. Without picking up the piece of fur, he bumped into Kuro, then ran into a corner and quickly disappeared.

In the torrential rain, only his voice remained.

"I won't go out, I won't let them take me away..."

"This person..."

Kuro paused, then raised his hand to float the fur on the ground and grabbed it. "Is there something wrong with it?"

He shook his head and walked out of the alley.

Beyond the streets lies the port.

After Kuro left the alley, he turned around and narrowed his eyes.

There were many ships docked in the port.

However, these ships were mostly pirate ships, with a few scattered ships bearing strange markings that resembled merchant ships, but they didn't seem to be doing legitimate business.

"A pirate town? It can't be that unlucky..."

Kuro stroked his chin and glanced at his fur coat. Hmm, without his navy uniform, not many people should recognize him, especially in this torrential rain.

"in case..."

Kuro spread his five fingers, and several pieces of wrecked wooden planks fell from the sky. The planks disintegrated in the downpour, forming a hat frame. Kuro covered the frame with fur, and under the control of his ability, the fur adhered tightly to the frame, forming a round fur hat that landed on his head. The brim was slightly lowered, covering the upper half of his face.

Kuro nodded, and was about to put his hands in his pockets when he realized that the fur coat didn't have any pockets at all. He thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers, and the fur coat dipped inwards on both sides of the waist to form two pockets, which he then put his hands in.

"OK, all done."

Having done all that, Kuro, with one hand in his pocket and the other clutching the fur, headed into the street.

At this moment, the color of sight and hearing also covered the entire island.

As usual, let's first see if there are any strong individuals.

But the moment Kuro unleashed his Observation Haki, he frowned, realizing that things were not so simple.

"This emotion..."

Numbness, anger, resentment, fear, worry... all these negative emotions are within his perception.

That's basically the general mood throughout the town.

In a few scattered places, there were emotions such as joy and greed.

It has become completely polarized.

Kuro turned his head and saw that the windows of several bungalows in front of him were clearly open a crack. As soon as he looked at them, the windows were pulled shut, and he could faintly hear some sounds coming from inside.

"Shh, he's spotted us! Hide quickly, or he'll catch us."

"Mom, I'm scared..."

"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, Mom is here, you'll be alright."

"God, please save us..."

The sound reached Kuro's ears from several bungalows. He looked at the closed windows, lost in thought.

"Let's go take a look..."

He walked toward the only place in the vicinity that exuded greed and joy, where, according to his Observation Haki, the largest crowd had gathered.

It was a tavern with a glass symbol on its dilapidated wooden door. The door was tightly shut, but a noisy commotion could be heard coming from the broken holes.

With a creak, Kuro pushed open the door, revealing a group of burly men or menacing-looking guys, each with a knife or gun tucked into their waistband.

When someone pushed the door open and came in, some people looked at him, but only glanced at him and didn't pay any attention.

This seems to be commonplace.

Others looked Kuro up and down with scrutinizing eyes.
