Chapter 51: After all, it’s not a real iron wall

The day when the mission hall was completely completed was a sunny day.

Jiang Jin found Brooke and said directly, "I want to review the Knights. If they don't meet my standards in half a month, the City Lord's Mansion will no longer hire them."

This statement is equivalent to telling Brook directly that she wants to cut off all of Brook's left and right shoulders and replace them with her own people.

"Lord, many knights of the Order have fought hard in the city of Achenkant for many years. It is inevitable that people will be disheartened by what you are doing." There was no change in the expression on Brook's face.

He pondered for a long time, looking at Jiang Jin lovingly like an elder, trying to teach her how to behave in the manner of an elder.

Jiang Jin sneered in her heart but didn't show it on her face.

The Knights are indeed very hard-working. They eat a lot every day and don't exercise. No wonder the fat ones have to gasp for air after walking a few steps.

"Brooke, what are you talking about?" Jiang Jin quickly interrupted Brooke with feigned surprise. She blinked her beautiful fox eyes with an innocent look, "Survival of the fittest, survival of the fittest, this world is a world where the strong prey on the weak."

"Furthermore, I believe my knights will never be complacent with their past achievements and stop making progress. The assessment in half a month will definitely be no problem."

After saying that, Jiang Jin smiled sweetly at Brooke and slowly smoothed out the wrinkles on her skirt.

Bella came up to pour tea, and Jiang Jin gestured to put a tea bowl for Brooke.

The clear tea fell into the tea bowl. Brook glanced at it from the corner of his eye and suddenly found that the expression on his face was extremely ugly. He picked up the tea bowl silently and took a sip while the scalding heat was rising.

The scorching hot water, with a bitter taste, slid down his throat into his lungs. It was so refreshing that Brooke licked his lips with shining eyes, "Another bowl."

Wow, this was freshly boiled water. Even when Jiang Jin touched the tea bowl with her hand, she felt it was scorching hot. But Brooke drank it in one gulp without changing his expression.

He is a lunatic.

These words suddenly popped up in Jiang Jin's mind.

After Brooke gulped down half a pot of tea, he slammed the bowl onto the table, a smile suddenly breaking out on his face. He said, "The City Lord is right. Competition produces the strong. The result of competition is that the best prevail and the inferior are eliminated. Those who cannot stand the test will naturally be expelled from the Knights."

Jiang Jin and Brooke looked at each other, and the two people with their own thoughts reached a brief understanding.

But I don't know what Brooke is thinking in his heart. Jiang Jin lowered her eyes.

After a moment, Brook stood up and left, but turned back to ask, "How does the City Lord plan to evaluate them, and what standards will he use?"

"Fight." Jiang Jin took a sip of herbal tea. She had been thinking about it for a long time. She wanted to have a simple and rough fight to test the level of these knights.

"I see." Brooke clapped his hands in sudden realization. "So the City Lord had a plan all along. Could those twenty or so slaves kept outside the City Lord's Mansion be the City Lord's secret weapons?"

There was something behind his words, which made Jiang Jin pause.

Jiang Jin was not secretive about this matter, but she didn't expect Brook to guess so deeply.

That's right, after observing for these few days, Jiang Jin was indeed planning to let Balke and others replace the group of guys in the Knights.

Balke and others are hardworking and extremely loyal. Jiang Jin can trust them more than the current group of Knights.

Jiang Jin didn't answer Brook's question, and Brook didn't care. He just curled his lips, as if he had already guessed Jiang Jin's intention. He tightly gripped the sword at his waist and whispered, "Then let these slaves see the swordsmanship of our City Lord's Palace Knights!"

How could a few slaves with only brute force possibly compete with the knights who had been practicing swordsmanship since childhood?

Brook was still very confident about this. He strode out and passed by the kitchen when he suddenly saw two knights sitting on chairs with bowls of rice in their hands. They stuffed beans and meat in their mouths, chewed them with big mouthfuls and talked with a smile. From time to time, they lifted their round bellies, and the fat on their faces shook with laughter.

Brooke frowned as he looked at them. It was not time for dinner.

Normally, he would not say anything when seeing this kind of situation, but at this moment, Brooke had just come out of Jiang Jin's government office and learned of Jiang Jin's intentions, so he could not ignore the situation before him.

"Dart, Moore!" Brooke shouted, strode over, and snatched the bowls and chopsticks from the hands of the two men.

Jiang Jin lazily leaned against the railing at the foot of the stairs, looking down at Brooke holding the two knights by their ears and cursing, "My God of Light, you keep eating all day long! You are brave knights! Not livestock in a pen! It's past mealtime and you're still eating here!? If the City Lord's Mansion doesn't support you anymore! I wonder how you'll ever eat again."

The two men wanted to argue, but Brook untied his sword, held it in his hand, and hit them hard on the back.

"Ah! Brooke, what are you crazy about?" Dart screamed in pain.

As expected, his back must have been red and swollen, which was why he glared at Brooke.

Brook was completely out of the mood. He didn't bother to argue with these two idiots. He twisted Moore's ear and yelled, "Go and call all the knights to the city gate! I have an announcement!"

"Just speak clearly. Why are you so fierce? Give me back the bowl." There was still some food left to eat. Moore muttered softly. Before Brooke could get completely angry, he hugged the bowl, quickly transformed into a nimble fat man and rushed out.

Thanks to her excellent five senses, Jiang Jin was able to watch a play at the railing on the fourth floor. However, she had no mood to watch the play at the city gate. Anyway, her goal had been achieved, so she stretched slowly and walked slowly to the bedroom on the third floor.

"After all, the Knights Templar are not truly an iron wall that is indestructible." Jiang Jin realized this very early on.

A knight commander who truly wanted them would never allow his soldiers to lose discipline, become out of shape, or even not pick up a sword for a long time.

At least since Jiang Jin started living in the City Lord's Mansion, she had seen that the knights were doing nothing but eating and drinking, laughing and joking loudly, and none of them were doing anything serious.

"Perhaps they're relying on their former fame and numbers to intimidate the residents of Achukant."

"These forty knights each have their own ideas. I want to see how Brooke can bring these forty horses running in different directions onto the same path."

Jiang Jin pushed open the bedroom door and gave the little guy sitting on the floor his first genuine smile of the day.
