Chapter 62: Winter in Alicante

Jiang Jin slept for a full hour. When she woke up, fine snow was falling outside.

The sky was dim and the light could not be seen clearly. Jiang Jin deduced that it should be around four o'clock in the evening. At this time, the sky was not completely dark yet, and the sun hanging in the sky could be vaguely seen through the thick clouds.

In Alicante in winter, it gets dark very early.

Jiang Jin had already instructed the children to go home early so that it wouldn't be too late. These little guys were reluctant to light the lamps, and it would be a big problem if they fell or got hurt.

Looking at the time, it was just the time when Brandon and the others were getting ready to go home.

"Daisy." Jiang Jin grabbed a bell from the bedside and shook it twice, making a tinkling sound. A moment later, Daisy and Bella pushed the door open and came in. Seeing that Jiang Jin was about to get up, they immediately went forward to help her tie her hair and put on her coat.

Jiang Jin yawned slowly and touched Lucas's little face.

The fever gradually subsided, but Lucas showed no signs of waking up.

"Maybe I ate too much at once."

After all, this is her own child, and Jiang Jin always worries about this and that as soon as she wakes up.

She ran her fingertips across Lucas's brow, and after making sure there was nothing majorly unusual, she stared at the dangling word "growth" and sighed.

He's already growing so fast just by eating meat. If he chews on two more magic gems, will he grow even taller all of a sudden?

Jiang Jinfa touched his chin and thought, when he grows up, it will not be fun to be a child anymore.

"Next time when I feed him magic gems, I'll just break them into pieces and feed them to him." The wealthy Jiang Jin planned in his mind.

Lucas, who was still sleeping, had no idea that the time when he could eat delicious food was gone forever, and all he could do was reminisce about it.

"Daisy, you stay here and watch over him. If Lucas wakes up, bring him to the grain warehouse to find me." Jiang Jin put on warm clothes and a cloak, and when she took Bella out the door, she turned back and gave her instructions.

Daisy stood there and nodded solemnly, watching Jiang Jin and Bella leave. Then she went back to her room, put wood into the fire, and made it burn brightly.

She sat on a chair next to the fireplace, from which she could control the fire and look directly at Lucas, so she could react immediately to any movement.

The warmth of the fireplace made people drowsy, but Daisy didn't dare to fall asleep. She pinched her arm and instantly became much more awake. Shuai leaned his head against the chair and looked at Lucas lying on the bed.

Next to Lucas was a soft and comfortable white blanket. Daisy didn't even look away, but curled up in the corner on the ground not covered by the white blanket, quietly guarding Lucas.

Jiang Jin had just walked into the banquet hall on the first floor when she happened to run into Tracy walking slowly towards the entrance of the City Lord's Mansion with his head lowered. Little Brandon and others were not with him, making the back of the thin little guy look even lonelier.

"Tracy." Jiang Jin called out to him.

Tracy shuddered and looked around for a long time before she suddenly turned her head and looked behind her.

He glanced at Jiang Jin, his face filled with confusion and trepidation. He trotted over to her, bowed politely, and called out to her, "My Lord City Lord, how are you? Are you looking for me?"

He lowered his head and didn't dare to look into Jiang Jin's eyes. He stood there obediently, just like the black curly-haired dog that Jiang Jin used to keep next door. He was very well-behaved and never shouted loudly. When he occasionally saw people, he would be very polite and hide beside them.

"Why are you alone? Where are little Brandon and the others?" The more Jiang Jin looked at Tracy, the more she felt that he looked like the little puppy. Her hands felt a little itchy, so she simply landed on Tracy's head and rubbed his dark brown hair.

Tracy's whole body was stiff. He could keenly feel the warmth of Jiang Jin's fingertips and the faint fragrance emanating from Jiang Jin's body. When he thought of this noble and beautiful city lord gently caressing him, Tracy became so nervous that he didn't know where to put his hands and feet.

"Yes, yes, they, they left first." Tracy replied haltingly.

Well, stuttering has once again spread from person to person, and even Tracy is not immune.

Jiang Jin also noticed Tracy's nervousness and stiffness. She didn't want to scare this smart child into having problems, so she could only withdraw her hand reluctantly and comfort herself in her heart, going back to touch Lucas's little head to her heart's content!

"Let's leave it at that. There's nothing I can do. I'll go over and tell you about the situation later. Be careful when picking up things and don't cut your hands." Jiang Jin said a few words softly, and Tracy nodded vigorously to show that she understood.

Although Xixi didn't say a few words to Jiang Jin, Tracy was excited and happy, and her body felt light, as if she was floating in the air with happiness.

Tracy was fine when he came out of the city lord's mansion, but after crossing the moat, he fell flat on his face.

The muddy ground was full of snow and water. When Tracy got up, he looked like he had rolled in the mud. His body was dirty and smelly. This beautiful and warm winter coat was stained beyond recognition. At the same time, Tracy felt a sharp pain in his knee.

The stabbing pain came from deep within the bones, and Tracy rubbed her knees silently.

He didn't cry, but just sniffed and wiped the mud off his face with the back of his hand. There was even a hint of relief on his face, "Thank goodness I didn't let the Lord Mayor see me looking so stupid."

He recalled Jiang Jin's actions just now and grinned.

In the past, he would have been so concerned that he would have cried, but now he felt lucky that he fell only after leaving the City Lord's Mansion.

Tracy took two steps forward, and the pain in his knee became even worse. He gasped, gritted his teeth, grabbed his calf, and slowly walked toward the street.

The snow was falling heavier and heavier. Tracy's clothes were completely soaked and were still absorbing the snowflakes, causing Tracy to fall straight down.

He leaned against the mottled corner of the street, looked up at the sky, his expression completely calm. "Let's wait until the snow subsides."

Tracy could guess the condition of her knees without even lifting her trouser legs.

It’s not a big deal.

Be patient, you will be fine anyway.

Tracy tried to curl up into a ball to absorb heat, but his clothes were soaked. No matter how hard he tried, it was in vain. He sat on the street corner and was completely frozen.

The small door next to it was suddenly opened, and a woman came out carrying a basin of water. She was mumbling something for a long time, and then she poured the water out.

The cold water suddenly splashed up from the ground and splashed onto Tracy's body, making him let out a low gasp from the cold.

The woman seemed to hear something. She stuck her head out and looked around. Her sight stopped at Tracy and she exclaimed, "Oh my God!"
