Chapter 69: It’s You

"It worked! I'm breathing again."

Jiang Jin's fingertips were trembling with excitement, but her face remained calm. She swallowed and cast a few more healing spells on Old Tutou. Only when Old Tutou's breathing slowly calmed down did Jiang Jin's tense nerves finally relax a little.

She collapsed on the ground, as if she had walked between death and death, and the clothes on her back were soaked with sweat.

"Oh my God of Light!" Bella was so frightened that she uttered a sentence with more than four words for the first time. She didn't remember any words, but only knew to use these three words "God of Light" to express the shock and excitement in her heart.

Brandon put his ear to the old man's chest and listened to the thumping sound coming from his chest. His tear-stained face finally broke into a smile. "I was so scared. I was so scared just now. I thought..."

Brandon didn't say the rest of the sentence. Jiang Jin understood what she meant and reached out to pat her on the back to comfort her.

The person is alive, but we can't let Old Tu lie on the cold ground forever, right? Jiang Jin glanced at the falling snowflakes outside the window and the whistling cold wind, not wanting Old Tu's health value, which had just passed the fifty mark, to drop again.

She took out another huge blanket from the warehouse, folded it twice with her wand, and made a simple bed.

Jiang Jin moved Old Tu onto the bed, covered him with her cloak, and built a small stove next to him.

After doing all this, Jiang Jin finally stopped and had time to ask Brandon what happened.

Brandon spoke anxiously before, and Jiang Jin understood that there was also the matter of the Knights involved. Those people who only eat and do nothing seemed to feel sorry for the city government if they didn't cause some trouble every day.

"Brandon, what happened? Why do you say that the Knights and Lawson were fighting?" Jiang Jin's face was gloomy. With a yawning little Lucas in her arms, the atmosphere she had worked so hard to create was suddenly ruined.

Brandon sniffed his nose, gesticulated with Jiang Jin, and said, "I saw that Master Cheng and Old Man Tu haven't been back for a long time, so I thought of coming over to see if you need my help."

"I was thinking of taking a shortcut through the small door over there, and saw a knight reaching into the window and grabbing something. Old Man Tu probably didn't want to give it to him." Brandon described the scene he saw.

"How do you know he doesn't want to give it to you?" Bella asked anxiously.

"Is that even a question? Of course, I saw it. Old Man Tu was holding onto that thing tightly, but he was lifted up by the knight by the window. I saw it all. Then, in a fit of rage, he used his other hand to hit Old Man Tu hard, and he fell down."

"I hid in the corner, watching him. When he disappeared, I immediately rushed out to find help." Brandon still felt a little scared and guilty. She whispered, "If I had run out earlier, Old Man Tu wouldn't have become like this."

If Brandon had rushed out in such a hurry and been seen by the knight, there might have been another death. Jiang Jin pursed her lips and said, "Brandon, you did a great job. Next time you encounter something like this, the first thing you must do is to protect yourself as much as possible and convey this message to me."

"You're still young. If the person you meet is a bad guy, I'm afraid if you don't run away, I'll never know who did this to Lawson."

Jiang Jin patiently explained to Brandon, who frowned and nodded, saying, "I know! That knight is the bad guy!"

"The God of Light will definitely punish him! I curse him to never be blessed by the God of Light in this life." Brandon said gritting his teeth.

This is the most vicious curse for this little girl living in Alicante.

Jiang Jin smoothed Brandon's messy hair. She looked out the window at the open space not far away and whispered, "Don't bother God Guang with such a small matter. Don't worry, I will soon make him get the punishment he deserves."

As she spoke, Jiang Jin closed her eyes slightly and sensed Brook's location.

A bright spot of light immediately appeared in my mind. Why does this location look familiar?

Jiang Jin's eyeballs suddenly turned rapidly under her eyelids. She looked around quickly in the direction of the light and soon found that Brooke was not indoors!

He was standing in a corridor, with his arms folded across his chest, looking towards a certain place. This place should not be very far from Jiang Jin, because Jiang Jin could even feel his breath!

Jiang Jin opened her eyes suddenly, she stood up abruptly, put Lucas in her arms back into the basket, and strode towards the small compartment.

Her sudden action scared the three people beside her. No one knew what Jiang Jin was going to do.

The window of the small compartment was not closed yet, and Jiang Jin's figure gradually appeared beside the window. She stared intently at a long corridor outside the window. There was nothing there except a thick pile of snow. However, Jiang Jin's gaze lingered on a pillar for a long time.

The snow there was sparser than in other places. Jiang Jin had sharp eyesight and could see a bit of navy blue clothing reflected in the snow behind the pillar. There was a person hiding behind the pillar, someone Jiang Jin was particularly familiar with.

Brook huddled behind a pillar, holding his breath slightly. From this direction, he could see the window of the small compartment slightly.

Jiang Jin's pretty face appeared in his sight, but the weak and kind woman in his impression did not look very happy. It seemed that something bad had happened, which made her mood worse.

"It's you, Brooke." Jiang Jin called out the man's name in a long voice, sounding like she was acting coquettishly, but there was not a single smile on Jiang Jin's face, and even her eyes were full of coldness.

Jiang Jin seemed to have made eye contact with the person behind the pillar. She restrained the expression on her face and calmly closed the window of the small attic, completely blocking out the prying eyes from outside.

After closing the window, Jiang Jin stood by it for a while, looking through the gap in the window with a cold face as she watched Brook's figure leave from behind the pillar.

The bulge in his arms seemed like something was hidden inside. Jiang Jin glanced at the bottles and jars that Old Tu had placed in the corner and found that a few bottles of potion of unknown efficacy were missing.

"Old Tu has only been making the potion for a few days, and even I didn't know about it. He is amazing. He knew to come and rob it so early." Jiang Jin curled the corners of her mouth sarcastically, and she was particularly disdainful of Brook's behavior.

She now wished she could jump half a month later, chop Brook into pieces immediately, and then replace everyone in the Knights, inside and out!
