Chapter 103 Day 2 (Part 1)

The man frowned. "Is this matter so serious?"

"Don't underestimate these little things. There's a saying that goes, 'If you steal a needle when you're young, you'll steal gold when you grow up.' Didn't Teacher Li say that the other day? The city is now more strict. If he develops these bad habits, I'm afraid he'll be punished so hard that his heart will bleed if he really goes to school in the city in the future!"

The man looked at them and asked, "So what do you think we should do?"

The two college students looked at each other and pretended to be in deep thought. "How about this, let's start with the simple things first. Don't litter. Throw all the garbage in the trash can. When it's full, take it out and throw it away. We can teach him other good habits slowly, one a day, and we'll change together!"

......

In a kitchen, a young female college student sat in front of the stove door. She skillfully picked up the fire tongs and picked up a bundle of firewood and put it deep into the stove hole in the room. After two meals of training, she no longer randomly stuffed the stove hole with firewood, filling the room with choking smoke.

The housewife at home was chopping peppers busily, preparing to make her signature dish, fried pork with peppers, for everyone at noon.

However, when she was almost done cutting, she couldn't help but frown and gasp.

"Sister, what's wrong?" The girl saw it and immediately asked with concern.

The woman frowned and said, "I'm afraid the chili peppers are a bit spicy today. They hurt my hands."

The girl showed concern, "Then go wash it quickly!"

"Right now, the cutting is done!"

After cutting a few times, the woman hurried out to wash. When she came back, there was still some pain between her brows.

"Does it still hurt?"

"It's okay, it will be fine after a while!"

The girl tilted her head and recalled, then suddenly slapped her forehead, "I have an idea!"

She stood up and said, "Sister, find the vinegar!"

Then, she held up the vinegar bottle and said, "I'll pour some on your hands. Rub them well and it should be fine!"

The woman spread out her hands doubtfully, poured vinegar on them and rubbed them, then said in surprise: "Really! It doesn't hurt so much after I exhaled!"

"Right!" the girl said proudly, "I remember my chemistry teacher said that capsaicin in chili peppers can be dissolved in alkaline aqueous solutions, so adding some vinegar to spicy food will make it less spicy! I thought it should work on my hands, too."

"That's great! I won't have to suffer when cutting chili peppers anymore!" The woman smiled, then said with emotion: "So it's good to have cultural competition!"

The girl chuckled.

The woman went out and rubbed her hands briefly. When she came back, she was busy and everyone sat down at the dining table.

When talking about this at the dinner table, the man in the family suddenly muttered, "You are college students, you say sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, this chili pepper makes my mouth and hands spicy, but why don't I feel sour when I pour this vinegar on my hands?"

The girl was stunned. What a strange question!

Then I thought, yes! Why?

Just when she was too embarrassed to respond, her companion smiled and said, "Because spiciness is not a taste, it's a pain."

Then she gave a brief explanation, which made the couple stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized and said with emotion: "College students are really different, they know a lot more!"

The girl smiled sheepishly and said, "We didn't know that we don't need to peel garlic before planting it!"

The man laughed and said, "That's nothing. It's impossible for you to know everything! We can learn from each other. We two farmers can learn more from you."

......

The day passed quietly in the busyness. The daily tasks of college students kept every household busy and moving in a good direction.

Time flies and it is afternoon again. In Song Yangyang's temporary home, they have just washed the family's tableware, water cups, teapots, etc., and applied toothpaste and salt to those that needed it. It took a lot of effort to finally finish.

The woman at home looked at the things hanging in a large winnowing basket in the yard and smiled with her eyes narrowed. "Oh, they look like new. They can be washed so clean! Thank you for your help!"

Song Yangyang and his companions smiled at each other and said, "Grandpa and grandma, happy Double Ninth Festival!"

As he was talking, the little girl's voice rang out impatiently beside the courtyard wall, "Grandpa, Grandma! The teacher praised me today! Praise for my good homework!"

After saying that, the little figure jumped in.

"Oh, the two older sisters are here too!"

The little girl's face immediately turned red.

Everyone in the yard burst into laughter.

......

After dinner, everyone headed towards the village committee again. Compared to last night’s lazy pace, everyone’s steps were more anxious.

Nothing else, because tonight’s event is said to be more interesting than last night’s!
