Chapter 12: The Way Out

In the afternoon after the meeting, Huo Qianli accompanied Professor He around the village, with Zhang Chi and Gu Haitao following behind.

The four of them climbed the hill and went for a stroll by the village river. When they sat on the side of the road to rest, Professor He glanced at Huo Qianli and said, "Little Huo..."

Before he could say any words of comfort, Huo Qianli pointed to the fields below that were divided into small squares of different sizes by ridges, and said excitedly: "Professor He, if we succeed in concentrating the land into pieces, can we use these ridges and paths? If the whole village succeeds in transferring the land, won't we have dozens of acres of land out of thin air?"

Professor He's thin face showed sincere appreciation, and he patted his shoulder vigorously, "Xiao Huo, I believe you can accomplish this."

Huo Qianli scratched his head and said, "Actually, I just wanted to encourage you and stimulate you to think of a solution."

"Hahahaha! Now I know why Lao Han likes you."

Professor He's laughter echoed in the woods, startling a flock of birds, which flapped their wings and flew up.

Gu Haitao and Zhang Chi squatted aside, each chewing a piece of dogtail grass. They looked at each other and felt a sense of awe.

......

The next morning, Professor He took Zhang Chi away.

Before leaving, Professor He held his hand and said seriously, "I have a student who works in your Dongjiang County. When I go back this time, I will tell him about your situation and encourage you from the government level. Don't give up. If there is any situation, call me at any time. If there is any progress, come to Jincheng to find me and I will take you to the pharmaceutical company."

Huo Qianli nodded solemnly.

"Come on, the future is bright!"

Gu Daqiang rode the bike himself, and the dust and smoke rolled up, taking the people away, leaving behind a clear road and earnest expectations.

Looking at the bumpy and winding dirt road, Huo Qianli rubbed his face in distress.

There will be a way, he comforted himself.

"Brother Qianli, where are we going now? The village committee office?"

Gu Haitao was heartless and was not at all distressed by the departure of his fellow followers.

Huo Qianli felt a little heavy-hearted, and patted Gu Haitao on the shoulder, "You go back and watch your Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils first, I'll go for a walk."

Gu Haitao asked with concern: "Brother Qianli, what's wrong?"

Huo Qianli smiled and shook his head, "It's okay, go and have fun."

Gu Haitao said with concern: "Tell me what you think, maybe I can comfort you!"

Huo Qianli raised his eyebrows, "You still know how to comfort people?"

Gu Haitao grinned, "It doesn't hurt to talk while standing!"

"screw you!"

Huo Qianli cursed and laughed as he punched him, and his mood did indeed lighten up a bit.

Unconsciously, he walked to the small earthen slope again. Looking at most of the village spread out in front of him, Huo Qianli's eyes involuntarily fell on the house by the river and he fell into silence for a long time.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

A knocking sound interrupted Huo Qianli's thoughts. He looked in the direction of the sound and saw two men from a house not far away holding tools, working hard on a large rock on the roadside.

This is a common thing in the village. Some people do it because it is inconvenient to have stones blocking the road, some are afraid of danger, and some simply need stones, so they use local materials.

The boulder was not small, more than one person tall, and stood there like a giant buffalo.

But the two men on the side were not simple either, with broad waists, thick arms and tall stature, looking like two black towers.

Huo Qianli knew these two people. The taller and stronger one was called Zhan Baozhuang, who was considered the person with the highest "fighting power" in the village. Compared with his name, his nickname was more suitable for him: Tie Niu.

The one next to him is Tie Niu’s son Zhan Hu, nicknamed Er Niu.

I saw Zhan Erniu holding a steel chisel in his hand, nailing it firmly on a corner of the stone; Tie Niu holding a big hammer, hitting the top of the steel chisel again and again.

The steel chisel was hammered into the stone little by little, and then the body of the steel chisel was knocked horizontally, pulled and shaken, and pried out. A small piece of stone was pried out, and then easily smashed into gravel with a few hammers.

Huo Qianli's heart moved slightly, and a flash of inspiration came to his mind, but he was unable to catch it, so he had to continue reading.

The father and son became more and more proficient in their cooperation. After repeated operations, small stones were peeled off and the big stones became visibly smaller.

The sun moved silently in the sky, and the light and shadow changed quietly, but Huo Qianli didn't notice it at all.

He watched quietly. There was a pile of rubble around the two men, and the big rock had become only the size of a basket!

Erniu, who was holding the steel chisel, swung his hands and placed the chisel in the middle of the stone. Tieniu, who was swinging the hammer, spat into his palm, took a deep breath, swung the hammer and smashed it down.

clang!

"I see!"

Huo Qianli's frown relaxed and a smile reappeared on his face.

The major issue of land transfer is like this big stone. Previously, he subconsciously considered all the villagers as a whole and tried to persuade them to accept this matter. However, as the old saying goes, every family has its own problems. Even in a simple environment like a school, there are top students, average students and poor students in a class, not to mention so many villagers!

The big rock cannot be smashed with a hammer, and the villagers cannot be convinced all at once.

The big rocks can be dealt with piecemeal, and the villagers can naturally be divided and persuaded.

Clan relations can help them unite against me, but they may also become a weapon for me to divide and persuade them.

......

The more Huo Qianli thought about it, the more excited he became. Once an idea came to his mind, a hundred ideas emerged, and all kinds of feasible ideas came to his mind one after another.
