Chapter 91 She Needs Rest
Ye carried his partner out of the cave, and Xia Tian walked behind with the cub in her arms. "I've explained everything I need to say. Just follow my instructions. If there's anything special or you don't understand, you can always come to me."
“Ouch—”
A white light flashed before her eyes, and Xia Tian heard a wolf howl. The middle-aged orc who was in human form just now turned into a gray wolf more than half the height of a human. Aunt Meng was carefully carried on his broad back.
The gray wolf's fur has become a little rough. Although it no longer has the shiny texture it once had, one can still vaguely see the majesty of its youth.
The leg bones in the left hind leg were twisted in a strange posture, and the muscles were severely atrophied. This was the result of an old fracture that was not treated properly, causing the bones to grow crooked.
"Be careful on the road." Xia Tian walked over, handed the cub wrapped in animal skin to the gray wolf's mouth, let him hold it in his mouth, and warned.
“Ouch—”
The gray wolf howled again, nodded goodbye to the girl in a very human way, turned around and jumped, taking his partner and child with him, and disappeared into the dense forest in just a few steps.
I wish them peace, health and happiness.
The girl thought so in her heart.
"Si Ye, you and Xiao He, come in. It's getting dark, time for dinner." After watching Aunt Meng and her family leave, Xia Tian looked at the blue-purple clouds not far away, and couldn't help feeling dizzy.
She hasn't rested for a day and a night.
"How are you?" Si Ye's voice sounded a little worried.
The girl's face was pale and she looked uncomfortable.
Xia Tian shook her head. "It's okay. I'm just too tired and a little dizzy. After dinner, I'll take a rest and have a good sleep tonight. I should be fine."
As she was about to go into the cave to prepare dinner, she was stopped by Si Ye, "Then you rest first, I'll prepare dinner."
"Okay. The animal meat and dried fish are hanging on the shelf over there. If you need any help, just call me. I'll lie down on the bed first." As he spoke, he walked towards the "bed" that was prepared for Si Ye on the ground in the cave.
She is really tired and needs to rest now.
She had been tense just now but didn't feel anything. Now that Aunt Meng and her son were safely reunited as a family, she relaxed all over. Fatigue surged over her like a tide, madly snatching away her consciousness.
Therefore, as soon as Xia Tian lay down, her consciousness immediately blacked out and she quickly fell into a deep sleep...
Two hours later.
Xia Tian opened her eyes and slowly regained consciousness.
I just wanted to take a nap, but I didn't expect to sleep until late at night.
The stars outside are twinkling, insects can be heard from time to time, the evening breeze is slightly intoxicating, and the days are peaceful.
Si Ye sat sideways beside her, with his head lowered and his eyes half closed. The orange-red flames of the bonfire were reflected on the man's angular profile.
Xia Tian recalled Si Ye's cooperation with her just now. She got up from the ground, rubbed her hair, and whispered a thank you, "Thank you for cooperating with me during the day today."
"woke up?"
Si Ye heard the noise and turned his head to look in the direction of the girl. "Why don't you continue to sleep? I'll keep watch."
The man's emerald eyes were deep, reflecting the girl's cherry pink cheeks.
"I'm a little hungry and want to eat something." Xia Tian got up from the ground and walked to the earthen stove built at the entrance of the cave. There was still warm soup in the stone pot on it.
Besides meat and some berries, the soup also contained many strange ingredients that she didn't recognize.
She knew this was probably the dinner Si Ye had made. She picked up the shell spoon beside her, scooped a spoonful, and sipped a little. "Did you make this?"
