Chapter 271: Capture a spy

Not long after Qiu Dahe sat down, his fellow soldiers rushed over. "Brother Qiu, are you okay? The instructor specifically told you not to do any strenuous exercise for the time being. Oh, your clothes are red. Did the wound burst open?"

The flight attendant and several others were also there at the time. After hearing what they heard, they felt that the performance of the military comrades was even more commendable.

He whispered to the person beside him, and soon someone came to help move Qiu Dahe's luggage to the lower bunk of another soft bag. "And these two young comrades will also stay with you. It will be more convenient to take care of you. Please don't refuse. Today's matter is not only about making meritorious contributions. If there is any mistake, the consequences will be unimaginable..."

Now that things have come to this, there is no way to refuse. Jiang Binyang and Liu Qing followed from the hard seat to the soft seat, with no place to put their hands and feet.

"Captain, how about we go back? We're taking up resources, and we..."

At this moment, Qiu Dahe didn't want to endure the bitterness any longer. "You two should lie down and rest for a while. Thanks to Liu Qing's alertness, he found the clues..."

Liu Qing quickly interrupted, "No, I just told you my idea. You're experienced and decisive enough to stop him. It's a pity that we haven't found his downline yet."

"Go report this to the conductor. Focus on checking those who got on at the previous stop and those getting off at the next. If you have any doubts, arrest them. Better to let them go than to let them go... Oh, and there was a woman who got on in the compartment I was in last night. Check that, too."

Liu Qing saluted and said, "Yes, Company Commander." He then trotted off to contact his comrades in the train crew.

Jiang Binyang was left alone, stuffing his luggage and saying, "Company Commander, let me change your medicine for you."

Qiu Dahe hummed and took off his coat. Sure enough, the gauze was all red. He took out a piece of sterilized cotton and helped clean the area around the wound, reapplied medicine, and wrapped the bandage again.

"Captain, now that we're in Wu City, you should go to the hospital and get checked out. It's so hot out here, you don't want to get infected."

Qiu Dahe buttoned up his shirt and said, "Well, I know. Don't throw these things in the car. Put them in the side pocket of my bag and deal with them after we get off the car."

Liu Qing hadn't returned for most of the day. Qiu Dahe closed his eyes to rest. He sensed that Jiang Binyang was restless, so he took the initiative to speak, "Go check on Liu Qing. He should have made some progress after so long. Go over and lend a hand."

"Yes, Captain, on your side, if any criminals come rushing over, your wounds must not get any worse..."

"It's okay, they wouldn't dare. Besides, I know my limits. Go ahead."

Jiang Binyang bumped into Liu Qing, who was walking back blindly. "How's it going? Did you catch him?"

"Go back and tell me."

The two returned to the soft bag where Qiu Dahe was.

Liu Qing saluted, sat down, and said, "Company Commander, it's that woman you mentioned. Because you mentioned her, my colleagues and I on the train crew paid a little more attention to her. It turns out there's something wrong with her... How did you discover it?"

"She came up last night and made a lot of noise on purpose, as if to remind others that she had a lot of stuff. I observed her this morning and found that one of her bags didn't have a red string tied around it, and the number of bags she had wasn't the same as the number I counted last night..."

The two young soldiers were full of admiration for their company commander. Liu Qing suspected that the person she was dealing in was a woman trafficker, and she kept pulling and tugging at the female educated youth in the car.

As soon as this thought came to his mind, he told the company commander who was traveling with him, but Captain Qiu focused his eyes on the male passenger who remained calm from beginning to end.

"The company commander was able to discover the clues just because of his actions and lack of enthusiasm! He didn't wrongly accuse a good person, this..." Liu Qing was still immersed in admiration for the company commander.

Someone's stomach rumbled at an inopportune moment. Qiu Dahe seized the opportunity to silence their suspicions, but he certainly had more than one reason to do so. He didn't know when it had started, but he'd become accustomed to keeping his ears open and his eyes alert, observing every stranger who struck him as unusual without a flicker of emotion.

Now he stood up, took the aluminum lunch box on the table, and called to the two young soldiers, "Let's go to the dining car to eat."

"Your injury shouldn't be handled too aggressively. Ask Liu Qing to accompany you. I'll go fight back."

As they were arguing, the flight attendant came over to bring them food.

"Comrades, this was specially sent over by the crew chief. One of the meals is for sick patients. He also said that he knows you have to follow discipline, but this is a small token of appreciation from the train crew. PLA comrades, please do not refuse."

The three of them couldn't refuse, so they ate the free lunch. The following dinner and breakfast the next day were also delivered by a special person on the train.

Before getting off the bus in the morning, Qiu Dahe took out ten yuan from his bag, which was the food expenses for the three of them for the next two days.

He wrote a simple note, went to the connection between the carriages, handed it to the pocket of the comrade who was organizing everyone to get on and off the train in an orderly manner, and left without looking back.

"Company commander, let us take you to the hospital first so that we can feel at ease." Qiu Dahe agreed to Jiang Binyang's suggestion because he didn't want to be stubborn and add burden to his comrades.

-------------------------------------

As for Qiu Yuling, because it happened to rain on the day of the final, the higher-ups had to postpone the date temporarily, so everyone had three more days to make plans.

Xie Chunrong was counting on her to win the championship for three days straight. He didn't even assign her any tasks, and instead organized everyone to watch her practice, truly taking the pressure off her before the competition.

Qiu Yuling asked her team leader depressedly, "Team Xie, aren't you afraid of this backfiring?"
