Chapter 37 Rabbit Sauce

Grandma Yuling prepared lunch. There was still a little bit of the meat sauce that Mrs. Qiu had fried last time. Grandma soaked some yellow rice and made thick yellow rice rice rice. She also washed and pickled the cucumbers that were about to bend in the vegetable garden.

The lunch that day seemed simple, but it has always been etched in Qiu Yuling's memory. It was then that she realized that the magic of cooking is that you can use whatever is at hand and still create fascinating flavors.

The short break was a little more lively than usual because of grandma's arrival. Just when everyone was having fun, there was a knock on the door.

Qiu Yuling was the youngest, so she was the one who rushed to run errands. When she opened the door, she found that it was Niu Wa's younger sister standing outside.

"What's the matter, Sister Lianhua?" Qiu Yuling asked her as she let people in.

"Sister Ling, I won't go in. Your grandma asked me to call Uncle Qiu and ask him to go to your grandma's house." After the little girl delivered the message, she ran away in a hurry, and delivered intermittent words about going out to get candy or something.

Qiu Yuling felt helpless. It wasn't that she looked down on her breasts, but she was the type who really couldn't hold two taels of oil in her stomach.

She didn't call me in the morning or in the evening, but she sent someone to the house today when Grandma Li came. She rarely visited our house on other days.

The little girl's voice was not small, and everyone heard it. Mother Qiu's face immediately turned dark, but grandmother Qiu Yuling smiled and said that she had been here since early morning and had not had time to visit her old in-laws.

"Aunt, you take a rest first. The sun is very hot now. Let Yuling accompany you to visit friends later. I'll go over and take a look first. Maybe there is any work that I can help with." Father Qiu spoke to his mother-in-law in a gentle voice, picked up his straw hat and went to his eldest brother's house.

This "aunt" is not that aunt. The older generation of sons-in-law here call their father-in-law and mother-in-law this way.

To be honest, Qiu Yuling is not very good at dealing with such family matters. She can also intuitively feel the good and evil of others towards her. It’s not that her grandmother is so bad, but she has never shown any extra warmth to her, so she is too lazy to maintain her favor.

So at times like this, she subconsciously leaned towards her grandma, but was afraid that her grandma would be suspicious, so she made jokes and followed her grandma to take a nap.

Not long after she lay down, the door creaked open again. Perhaps it was Father Qiu who had returned. She didn't care about why Father Qiu was not allowed to rest in the middle of the day, or what was so important about asking someone to come over.

She is now enjoying the warmth between grandparents and grandchildren that she had never experienced in her previous life.

I slept very soundly that day and didn't even hear the sound of people going to work in the yard.

When she woke up, her grandmother was sitting under the grape trellis doing needlework. Qiu Yuling went over and saw that the old lady was still piecing the scraps of cloth together bit by bit. Although the textures were of different shades, they looked very beautiful.

"I made a quilt cover with floral patterns for Lingling. Will she dislike it?" Grandma asked Qiu Yuling with a smile.

"I don't mind." She doesn't mind, not at all. Qiu Yuling smiled. In her previous life, she had specially bought a patchwork antique quilt cover from Taobao. Now she was so happy to get it.

Qiu Yuling's rabbits have been sold several times. Qiu Yuling really can't bear to sell them. Her family eats coarse food all year round, and it's rare for them to have some oil and water, so she has to keep it to improve their lives.

This rabbit was raised by Qiu Yuling. It never caused any trouble for Qiu's mother and others from the beginning to the end, so they could only let their daughter do as she pleased.

But it’s a bit too much right now.

Grandma Yuling couldn't help but laugh as she listened to her sweet troubles. She was clearly a child, but she acted like a little adult, worrying about this and that.

I simply put down my work and took a break, and asked if there were any soybeans at home. Qiu Yuling said yes.

Mother Qiu bought and exchanged them one after another, thinking of grinding them into tofu after the wheat was harvested, but since grandma needed them now, she gave them to her first.

The old lady asked Qiu Yuling if she liked rabbit meat sauce?

Qiu Yuling, who has lived two lives, said she has never eaten it.

Do you want to eat it?

think!

Grandma took Qiu Yuling to soak the soybeans first, and then steamed and fermented them for one or two days. After that, the fermented soybeans were mixed with a certain amount of chili powder, ginger, white wine and salt to make bean paste.

Then mix the bean paste, fresh rabbit meat, cherry tomatoes, kohlrabi roots, coriander, chili sauce, chopped chili, garlic, cardamom, sugar, etc. and stir-fry for two to four hours.

Qiu Yuling opened her mouth wide. It was so troublesome, and the production time was so long. Couldn’t we eat it today?

"You little greedy cat." Grandma felt that her little granddaughter only showed some of the mischief of a child when she was thinking about food.

Although the process is long, good things come to those who wait, so I have started preparing. Today I can stir-fry some spicy rabbit cubes for Qiu Yuling.

Grandma Yuling didn't feel restrained just because she was at her daughter's house. She knew what to eat and what to cook. As long as there was food at home, she didn't need Qiu Yuling to do any mobilization and could just roll up her sleeves and get things done.

Qiu Yuling was afraid that her grandmother would have a hamster mentality, saving everything for the future. She thought that the plot could only be advanced by relying on her greed and picky eating, but she didn't expect that it would come without any effort.

The old ladies who worked there also joked about Li Qingmei inviting her mother to stay with them for a while. Then they thought about their own parents, and then they changed the subject inexplicably and talked about how well the vegetables grew this year. It really is true that God loves simple people.

In conclusion, if my mother’s home wasn’t so far away, I would also like to bring her over to enjoy a few days of happiness.

However, Qiu Yuling in the house had no idea that they attributed all this to God. Of course, if she knew, she would be happy. Profits and fame were like clouds to her, so she would thank God for covering it up for her!

Because grandma came, Qiu Yuling fed the little friends in the backyard today by adding grass and water. She didn't dare to put any extra food. It is said that old people are smarter and older trees are more spiritual. She didn't dare to hold any luck.

Coming out of the backyard, grandma washed her hands and picked up the needle and thread skillfully. Qiu Yuling felt that if she gave grandma a sewing machine, her work would be much easier and she would be able to do much more work.

However, her family is not yet able to afford a sewing machine.

Some things need to be dealt with quickly. I remember the day when Wang Aihong's father came, their team leader seemed to mutter something to her family's rabbit.

It’s better to do it today than to wait for another day. I asked my grandma to come today and borrowed the donkey cart from the brigade to thank Uncle Jianjun.

I have to talk to Mrs. Qiu about this first.

"Grandma, stop working and take a rest. I'll go get my mother."

After getting a response from her grandmother, Qiu Yuling closed the door and walked towards the place where her mother used to cut grass.

"Yuling, are you looking for your mother?"

"Well, Aunt Hua, is my mother still in the sandy area?"

"No, your mother went to Jiantan today."

"Oh, thank you Aunt Hua, if you hadn't called me, I would have almost gone astray."

"It's okay, go quickly. I called you just now because I was afraid you would get lost."

Qiu Yuling waved to Aunt Hua on the ridge, turned a corner and walked towards the alkaline beach.
