Chapter 17 Restraint: "This is my bedroom."
After Lu Qi left, the medical robot fed Shi Wei the medicine, and she drifted off to sleep again.
When I woke up again, it was already the next morning. I had slept for a long time, and my bones were a little sore.
The emperor, dressed in casual clothes, was sitting not far away, flipping through an old paper book.
He heard a noise, looked around for a while, and asked, "Awake—are you hungry?"
Shi Wei stared blankly at him. The last time she woke up, she didn't understand why she was there. This time, she woke up and didn't understand why he was there.
King Scolag II walked over, took a sensor from the standby robot's belly, and attached it to her neck.
"Beep—" The robot started and began automatically measuring data, and the data quickly began to change.
The man reached out and touched her forehead, then looked at her face and said, "The fever's gone down. Are you still dizzy?"
Shi Wei was a little slow to react, and it took her a long time before she shook her head.
She saw the dignified emperor frown, look at her, and ask, "Do you remember what happened? Strange, the doctor clearly said she had recovered. Was the mental shock to Similan too strong?"
He looked worried that she might become mentally disabled.
Shi Wei started to have a headache, not as a lingering effect of the mental shock, but because she couldn't understand the current situation.
"Your Majesty... what are you doing here?" she asked slowly.
Didn't Lu Qi say he would let her go? Could it be that His Majesty...?
Countless terrifying possibilities flashed through her mind.
King Skolag II sighed. Was he really that subtle? He reached out and touched her face. "This is my bedchamber."
Shi Wei almost fell off the bed.
Fortunately, the robot pulled her back, preventing her from banging her head on the ground.
Shi Wei stammered, "Wh-what...the bedroom?"
A hint of a smile appeared in the man's eyes as he removed the patch. His cool fingertips brushed against her collarbone, sending a jolt of electricity through her, and the girl wrapped in the blanket shivered.
“My palace is very large, with many rooms. You don’t need to be afraid. I’m not Similan. If you don’t want me to, I won’t do anything to you.” The man patted her head reassuringly.
Shi Wei was dumbfounded: What do you mean you're unwilling and I won't do anything?
Does he think he'd do anything just because she's willing?!
She didn't dare ask. His Majesty's gaze remained as gentle as ever, but... but he was His Majesty.
"Your Majesty, is it... because of the Second Prince?" Because Simanan wanted her, so Your Majesty... But, but that sounds far-fetched.
As expected, His Majesty frowned: "Smirnani? You like him?"
Shi Wei shook her head frantically; all she wanted to do was castrate that bastard.
King Sklag II chuckled: “What does it have to do with him? You’ll receive the best medical care here. The Similan were ruthless, but fortunately, your brain is very resistant to mental attacks and hasn’t suffered too much damage. You’ll be fine after a few months of rest.”
Adding insult to injury, and almost turning her into an idiot, Shi Wei added another mark against Simanlan in her mind.
“Smilan will be going to Saintess Star soon and won’t stay in the capital. Don’t run away again next time. If you fall into the hands of mercenaries or Fran’s intelligence agency, it will be worse than if you fall into the hands of Smilan.” The emperor sat down next to her and patiently explained, “They will pry what they want out of you, and once you are no longer of value, they will send you to be forcibly bred.”
Shi Wei shuddered. She knew that many empires did not easily kill Omegas, especially those who had not been marked.
The Emperor sighed, patted her on the back, and said, "I didn't want to tell you too much at first, because I didn't want you to be nervous or scared, but now it seems that there are some things I still have to tell you in person."
He took Shi Wei's hand, kissed it, and then looked into her dark eyes, saying earnestly, "I like you very much and want you to be my partner. Although I'm much older than you, my doctor says I can live another hundred years—"
"If you're willing, I'll spend the rest of my life with you."
At such close range, she could smell the cedar fragrance emanating from His Majesty.
The warmth emanated from the man's palm; he was merely holding it loosely, so she could easily pull it out with a gentle tug.
She tried to take a drag, but the other person just looked at her with a smile. Their sea-blue eyes, in the morning light, were so gentle that it was almost overwhelming.
Countless thoughts flooded her mind. She remembered Lu Qi's strange attitude towards her, Secretary Jiang's ever-present smile whenever she saw her, and Simanan's words—"Why would he keep you around if he doesn't like you?"
Unfortunately, she was too oblivious, busy researching escape routes, and never considered that His Majesty might have any thoughts about her.
Looking back now, I feel incredibly stupid. She actually found the emperor, whom the entire universe considered ruthless and iron-fisted, to be very easygoing and gentle.
How stupid.
Seeing her flushed face, King Scolari II asked after a long pause, "Do you like me?"
Shi Wei was startled. She wanted to say she didn't like it, but the words that came out were: "I don't know."
If she refuses, will she be silenced? Should she sell her body to survive?
The emperor saw through her thoughts at a glance, stroked her hair, and said, "I won't force you. Even if you never like me for the rest of your life, I won't force you to do anything. Let's be like before, okay?"
Shi Wei nodded foolishly, thinking that continuing to be a subordinate wasn't out of the question.
King Sklag II smiled, his eyes gentle, and then kissed her cheek.
Very restrained.
But Shi Wei's face immediately turned red.
No, we weren't like this before, were we?
That can't be right, can it?
The scent of pine seemed to linger on her cheeks.
The bewildered girl watched the emperor depart, leaving only a trace of his presence, a reminder that this was not a dream.
Then servants and robots came in one after another to help her wash and tidy up.
She was somewhat bewildered; what exactly had she agreed to?
Similan met Shi Wei again by chance.
His pet Mobia lizard fell ill and was sent to the palace veterinarian for examination. While the lizard was being examined, he strolled around and spotted his father's giant wolf, Leo, wandering over from afar.
He whistled, but Black Wolf acted as if he hadn't seen him and turned a corner and left.
Similan called its name, but it only glanced in this direction and continued on its way.
Even more bizarrely, there was a person sitting on the back of the giant wolf.
He walked quickly closer and saw that it was Shi Wei.
She sat on the back of the black wolf, looking down at him.
Simanan's throat tightened. He knew that Shi Wei would sometimes go to play with his father's pets, but at the time he didn't take it seriously and treated such little tricks as a joke.
But now, sitting atop a giant black wolf, with black hair and a white dress, her gaze is cold and sharp.
"Are you alright?" His voice was dry.
Shi Wei stared at him for a while, and really wanted Leo to bite him to death.
She patted the giant wolf's head and said, "Thanks to you, I didn't become an idiot."
“I was afraid you would…you, if you don’t want to, then don’t, why do you have to commit suicide…” Similan’s voice grew softer and softer as she spoke, until finally she didn’t even dare to look her in the eye.
Shi Wei chuckled coldly, tugged at Leo's left ear, and the giant wolf obediently began to turn to the left.
Simanan quickly stopped her, full of remorse: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, I just like you too much, actually my father—"
His voice stopped abruptly, and he heard his father's words, "Shut your mouth."
Similan stood there, stunned.
Seeing that he looked like an idiot, Shi Wei snorted coldly and ignored him.
The giant wolf carried the slender girl, and the wind lifted her skirt, making her look very beautiful.
Similan recalled the banquet that day, the hem of her skirt slipping through his hand.
Smooth as water, it flowed away easily.
He was just about to say that his father knew everything, and that the security bureau had been watching his every move.
He is the mantis catching the cicada, while the oriole behind him silently watches everything.
They were just waiting to rescue the beautiful cicada from his grasp.
Shi Wei would only hate herself for holding her back and not letting her be free, not for the Emperor who rescued her.
Similan stood there for a long time until someone informed him that the lizard had been cured, and then he slowly walked back.
He was naive. His father possessed not only the throne, but also a deeper level of experience and wisdom than he did.
But he will not give up.
Her pheromones were so alluring.
He had never encountered it before.
Now he needs to be patient and restrain himself.
He also had an even more important enemy: his own brother.

Author's Note: Your Majesty: My palace is very large, with many rooms. (Why does this feel like he's being a pervert, haha?)
Shi Wei: (Hesitating for a long time) I should just obey. (After being kissed, she starts to think) Something doesn't feel right.
Similan: I was so stupid, really, I was used as a stepping stone for others and made a scapegoat for them.
Shake Cyril, who's still watching the show. You idiot, if you keep watching, you're out of the picture!

I haven't figured out whether Yi Lan is Yi Qing's grandfather or great-grandfather yet. The Emperor has messed up the generations, how infuriating.
