Chapter 33 Rescue "She told you I was her lover?"
Aldridge acted swiftly, giving Shen An no chance to back out. The next day, Shi Wei met with the guard captain, Ravic, who had infiltrated the palace—yes, Shen An had placed Shi Wei in his own residence.
When Lavezzi saw that Shi Wei was unharmed, he finally breathed a sigh of relief. Half a month had passed since Shi Wei was kidnapped—who knows how he survived under His Majesty's terrifying pressure during those two weeks.
Lavezzi gave Shi Wei the prepared items, including some protective gear, simple weapons, medicine, and so on. He taught her how to use them and repeatedly emphasized, "Those snake-men have many people in the palace. Our people are not yet in place. Shen An will launch a coup at the Beast King's birthday banquet in two days. You must be careful to protect yourself then."
"A coup?" Shi smiled slightly. "He's going to make a move against the Bai family?"
Lavezzi said calmly, "That's their business. His Majesty only cares about your safety. You must be careful."
The old beast king's birthday banquet was very grand, and many beast nobles were invited, a huge crowd indeed.
Shen An had his maid dress her up in her finest attire so she could attend the event as his female companion.
Shi Wei knew he intended to kidnap her, but she didn't expose him and attended the event with him with a smile.
Shenta is very old and extremely suspicious. Shenan only mentioned that the Bai family had joined forces with the mercenaries, and he couldn't wait to get rid of the Bai family.
The Bai siblings were also dressed beautifully, with thin white veils draped over their snow-white skin. Their similarly beautiful faces, and the black and white snake tails adorned with gemstones, were dazzling in the sunlight.
Bai Xiao looked at the girl standing next to Shen An with icy eyes.
"Stop looking, you're really lowering your standards like this," Bai Jiao joked.
She didn't realize anything was wrong today and thought Shen An had really fallen for her and wanted to keep her here.
Bai Xiao suddenly frowned: "Why are there so many unfamiliar faces?"
Bai Jiao glanced at him and frowned as well: "Why hasn't the King arrived yet?"
Everyone had arrived long ago, but the old beast king had not yet appeared.
"Is he sick?" Bai Xiao shrugged, completely unconcerned. "He's this age; a fall could kill him."
As they were observing their surroundings, they suddenly saw a guard rushing towards Shen'an and bowing: "Your Highness, the King is dying!"
The voice wasn't lowered, and everyone around heard it. After a moment of silence, it quickly became noisy again.
Bai Jiao sensed something was wrong: "Is he dying? He was fine just a couple of days ago."
Shen An glanced in their direction.
That look in his eyes… Bai Jiao’s heart skipped a beat. She lowered her voice and said quickly, “You go first. Shen An is acting strange.”
But it was too late.
She saw Shen An raise his hand, beckoning the guards to surround them.
"Your Highness—" Bai Jiao said solemnly as she looked at Shen An, who was walking towards them.
They grew up together, and although they had occasional disagreements, she believed they should be friends.
A tall, robust orc stood before them and calmly announced, "Last night, someone attempted to assassinate my father. After being captured, he confessed without hesitation—"
"The Bai clan plotted to murder my father."
Bai Xiao looked at Shen An in disbelief: "What nonsense are you talking about! Do we need to assassinate that old man? How many more days does he have left to live? Shen An, what exactly are you trying to do!"
Shen An glanced at him, his tone cold: "The evidence is conclusive, you may surrender."
Bai Jiao glanced at the girl behind Shen An; that familiar face was smiling at her.
"What benefits did she give you?" Bai Jiao shouted angrily, "Are you crazy? She wants us to kill each other!"
Shen An didn't say anything, but ordered his men to take them down.
Bai Jiao cursed, and the Bai clan members gathered together, glaring at Shen An. A battle was about to break out.
Shi Wei's communicator vibrated, and a familiar male voice came through:
"I'll be right there."
Her heart settled down.
Seeing the chaotic scene that had already begun, Shi Wei silently stepped back.
Shen An was inevitably at a disadvantage fighting two against one. What was most interesting was the others. Most of the beastmen just watched, and only a few participated.
It seems there's a reason why the Bai family can rival the Shen family. If Shen An hadn't made preparations in advance, things might have turned out very differently today.
With Shen Anliu's guards by her side, she didn't notice that a small black snake was slithering towards her just a few meters away.
Two guards suddenly collapsed. Shi Wei instinctively reached out to help them up, only to find that she couldn't move her legs. Looking down, she realized that her legs had been bound by a black snake.
As the guards around her dismounted one after another, Shi Wei saw Manra soldiers lurking not far away rushing towards her. Someone shouted at her, "Get out of the way!"
But she was just an ordinary Omega, far less agile than the soldiers. When she looked up, she only saw a huge black shadow—
A stench wafted on the wind, and a huge black snake opened its blood-red maw at her.
With sharp fangs and a scarlet upper jaw, Shi Wei tried to run away, but her feet were tightly entangled, and she fell to the ground.
The black snake was too fast, and it rushed to Shi Wei in a few seconds. Shen An, who was fighting with the siblings at the same time, only managed to grab its tail, but it was to no avail. Bai Xiao twisted it slightly and slithered out.
Shi Wei didn't have time to use what Lavezzi gave her.
Just as the other party was about to swallow her head whole—
A loud crash came from the entrance of the palace, and then the giant snake in front of it was struck by a dark shadow.
Bai Xiao was agile and, after being stunned by the blow, immediately dodged the attack.
He tried to wrap his tail around Shi Wei, but the giant beast roared and bit directly at his heart.
The black snake dodged, and the next second, a bullet exploded precisely on his body, instantly igniting flames.
Shi Wei's head was still buzzing from the fall, and she was seeing double. She only saw a dark shadow lunging at her. She used her hand to shield the other person's head, but unexpectedly touched a wet tongue—
Um?
She shook her head and blinked hard before she could see that what was in front of her was not a black snake, but a black wolf.
The next second, the entire palace shook, a huge explosion rang out above everyone's heads, and the sky brightened—
The roof is gone.
The bright sun hung in the sky, and dozens of black aircraft appeared in everyone's sight. The two closest ones were spraying blue water mist downwards, which was an anesthetic.
Several aircraft landed directly, and before they even touched the ground, dozens of soldiers in black uniforms jumped down and surrounded everyone.
The leading warrior, a tall man, fired a stun grenade at the black snake, whose tail was still burning as it fought the black wolf. The snake swayed and was then kicked in the chest, slamming onto the floor.
The black wolf pounced.
The man walked towards Shi Wei, saw her clutching her head and shaking it vigorously, felt a pang of pain in his chest, and became even angrier. He then fired another shot at the black snake on the ground.
He took off his mask, used a dagger to cut the snake on Shi Wei's foot into several pieces, and found two black spots on her ankle that had turned purple. It was probably because the snake was frightened by the explosion and bit her.
"Where's the medical team!" A familiar voice rang in her ears. Although Shi Wei couldn't see his face clearly, his scent was still very familiar—
She threw herself into his arms, choking back tears, and said, "My head hurts so much, I feel so dizzy—"
King Sklag II was so angry he wanted to kill everyone present.
"Alright, alright, everything will be fine." He removed all the cumbersome decorations from Shi Wei's body and threw them on the ground. He checked her pulse, and seeing that the medical team had just landed, he picked her up with a stern face.
Shi Wei hugged his neck. Her vision was blurred and her head was spinning from the snake venom. Only now did she dare to relax and couldn't help but cry.
King Scolari II's face turned extremely ugly. He casually pointed at a soldier and said, "Tie up all these snakes and let Lavezzi interrogate them."
The soldiers obeyed the order and went down to investigate. The medical team studied the snake that had been dismembered into eight pieces while injecting Shi Wei with an antidote.
Shi Wei had already fainted.
Unbeknownst to her, no venom was extracted from the dead snake, so all the snakes present had their venom glands removed—including Bai Xiao, who was half-dead and had half her tail burned off.
These venoms were used to create corresponding antidotes, and the most suitable drug was eventually found.
In fact, ordinary antidotes would have been fine, but the medical team, faced with the Emperor's low mood, dared not be perfunctory and even gave the unconscious Shi Wei a full-body examination.
Upon learning that she had not suffered any other injuries, His Majesty's expression finally improved.
The doctor gave Shiwei a sleeping pill so she could get some sleep.
King Sklag II was too lazy to deal with the orcs' messy affairs, so he left Cyril and Similan to handle them while he stayed with Shi Wei.
Similan went reluctantly; he could have stayed as a caregiver.
That old man really knows how to boss people around.
Bai Xiao was left half-dead by the Emperor's two shots. It was fortunate that he was a half-orc; if he were a normal person, he might not be alive now. No one treated him; they just fed him some animal medicine to keep him alive.
After being severely injured, he reverted to his half-beast form. His face was pale from blood loss, and his body was covered in wounds. Blood was still flowing from his tail, and the wounds were so deep that the bone was visible.
“Heh, this little face is just as pretty as yours.” Similan said to his older brother, looking them both up and down, and mocked, “Just like you, a pretty boy.”
Cyril gave him a cold look and asked Ravec, "Did he mention mercenaries?"
Lavezzi shook his head: "He's very stubborn. He's been given the medication several times, but he hasn't said a word. I was afraid of killing him, so I stopped."
Similan chuckled, looking at Bai Xiao's golden eyes with disdain, and said, "So what if you kill him? Look how irritable Father Emperor was today, this guy doesn't look like he'll live for many more days."
He saw it all clearly from the aircraft today; his father truly intended to kill him.
Cyril glanced at the snake-like creature rolling its eyes at them and chuckled, "Doesn't he have a Beta sister?"
Similan raised an eyebrow, instantly understanding, and chuckled: "Oh~ I remember now, she was a very beautiful female. I heard that many nobles in the capital like snake women—"
Bai Xiao finally spoke, glaring at them: "You dare!"
Cyril said calmly, "Your sister is a Beta, anyone can buy her back, so you won't fetch a good price. Maybe she can survive by hooking up with some nobleman."
Bai Xiao was in too much pain to curse them, but gritted his teeth and said, "Are you even men? If you have a problem, come at me—"
Similan shrugged: "Do you know whether I'm a man or not? I'm not into that kind of thing—at that time, you were still thinking about killing Shi Wei, are you even a man?"
Bai Xiao wanted to say that he didn't intend to kill Shi Wei, but he was just too angry at the time.
He lowered his head, then quickly looked up at Similan, and sneered, "You're the Second Prince? Her lover? What's the point of taking it out on me? She's already hooked up with Shen An—"
After he finished speaking, he carefully observed Similan's expression and found that the other party did not show anger or suspicion, but rather a strange expression.
Cyril frowned as well.
Siman raised an eyebrow. He didn't even remember who Shen An was, and instead asked, "She told you I was her lover?"
Bai Xiao: "..." Why does he sound so happy?
Similan pressed on, "Did she really say that?"
Haha ...
Has she finally realized how good she is?
Bai Xiao gave him a deep look and thought there was something wrong with his head.
