Following the direction Wang Bin pointed, everyone's eyes widened in shock. They wished they could rush up and grab the food right then and there, but with two beautiful women standing beside Wang Bin coldly watching them with guns, and a tank outside, they dared not act rashly.
"What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and move it!" The middle-aged man saw that everyone was staring intently at the food in the distance, so he quickly scolded them and led them back to move the gold.
The leader did not go down, but instead hid behind the window with a few men to observe the situation below.
"Chief, what do they want the gold for?"
"I don't know, I've been thinking about that too!"
"Chief, I think it's very likely that gold is very valuable in the settlement. Why don't we keep some for ourselves and wait for someone to come and buy it so we can exchange it for food?"
"Good, your idea is good. Go down now and bring some gold to me."
"Yes, Chief!"
The strategist smiled and agreed, then led the remaining men to the second floor to move the gold.
When the middle-aged man learned that the leader intended to hoard some of the gold, he was so frightened that he rushed up to dissuade him.
"Chief, you absolutely can't do that! They've shown great sincerity by offering so much food in exchange for ours. What if they find out and set the building on fire?"
"Did you tell them exactly how much gold we have?" the leader asked after a moment's thought.
"I don't know the exact number; I only gave a rough estimate!"
"That's good. We'll only take a small portion; they won't notice!"
"Uh, okay!"
