The next morning, after everyone had breakfast and packed up their tents, they set off again. Wang Bin had planned the route before they set off.
First, he led everyone to a village outside the city, found a detached small building, and helped Li Chengping and the others to make some defenses. Then, he led Guan Xiaoyue and Officer Miao towards the city.
Of course, in order to deter any potential troublemakers nearby, Wang Bin and his group fired a few shots, instantly wiping out the surrounding zombies.
Hearing such a dense barrage of gunfire, some petty thieves certainly wouldn't dare to come looking for trouble.
Wang Bin carried a small backpack to avoid being noticed, while Guan Xiaoyue and Officer Miao were lightly equipped, carrying only guns and bullets.
After some trial and error, Wang Bin now knows which roads are passable and which are not, and the three of them quickly arrived in the city.
This city is larger than the city where Guan Xiaoyue and Officer Miao were before, but it is also more desolate, with more zombies on the streets. Wang Bin really doesn't dare to shoot zombies in this location, or he might be surrounded by them.
After walking for quite some time, Wang Bin and his two companions discovered that the main street ahead was blocked by some debris, and behind the debris stood seven or eight people, all of whom were armed. Upon seeing this, the three men's expressions turned grim.
"Why are there so many guards here?" Officer Miao frowned slightly and said calmly.
"Could this be the gathering place?" Guan Xiaoyue asked doubtfully.
"Impossible. Although they have guns and have made some simple fortifications, they don't look like soldiers at all, and the number of guards is too small. I estimate they are local forces!" Wang Bin analyzed simply.
“That makes sense. So what do we do now?” Guan Xiaoyue then asked.
"Wait, let's see how things go first!" Wang Bin said after thinking for a moment.
The three of them waited for two hours, but no one went in or came out. Wang Bin was starting to get restless.
"Let's go look around and see if there's anywhere we can sneak in."
"good!"
The three of them quickly walked a long distance along the wall, but several intersections were blocked, and they couldn't get in at all.
"What should we do?" Guan Xiaoyue asked anxiously.
"Follow me!" Wang Bin said, then led his men back to a wall more than four meters high.
"Ah, Brother Wang, why did you bring us here?" Guan Xiaoyue asked, puzzled.
“It’s simple, we’ll climb in,” Wang Bin said with a mysterious smile.
"How are we supposed to climb it? The wall is so high. Are we supposed to form a human wall?"
"I suppose so. Officer Miao, please squat down against the wall. Xiaoyue, keep watch around."
"good!"
Neither Officer Miao nor Guan Xiaoyue objected, and they did their jobs as Wang Bin instructed.
Wang Bin took a few steps back, then suddenly accelerated and used his "Crossing the River on a Reed" skill in practice. When he reached Officer Miao, he lightly stepped on Officer Miao's shoulder, jumped more than three meters high, gently grabbed the top of the wall, and climbed up in one go.
Guan Xiaoyue was startled to see Wang Bin jump so high, but she didn't say anything and kept her gun raised, keeping watch over the surroundings.
"Xiaoyue, jump up, I'll pull you up!"
After climbing up the wall, Wang Bin lay flat on it and waved to Guan Xiaoyue.
Guan Xiaoyue didn't waste any words. She ran over, lightly stepped on Officer Miao's shoulder, and was lifted high. Then, Wang Bin reached out and firmly grabbed her, pulling her up with a gentle tug.
After Guan Xiaoyue went up, the two of them climbed up the wall and stretched out their hands. When Officer Miao jumped up, they grabbed her hand and pulled him up together.
The three of them climbed over the wall but did not immediately come down. Instead, they looked around at the situation inside the wall.
They discovered that the walled area was a large area with many people inside. They roughly counted more than 300 people they could see, and if they included the people in the building, the number would be unknown.
Most of the people inside didn't have guns; most were doing manual labor with their heads down. Some were planting crops, while others were doing various odd jobs.
"This place looks like a small gathering place, but it doesn't seem to be run by the government or the military. It must have been set up by some other force."
"Then what do we do?"
“I think we should go in through the main gate; that way, our origins will make sense.”
"But what if they confiscate our guns?"
"That's easy. I'll put your guns away for now and give them back when you need them. Also, I can't put too much food in my backpack; just some bread and water will do."
"Okay, then let's do it your way!"
The three jumped off the wall again. Wang Bin put away their guns, rearranged his backpack, leaving only five bags of bread and three bottles of water, before heading towards the gate.
"Stop right there, what are you doing?"
"We just arrived here from another city and wanted to hide here for a while!"
As soon as the three approached the gate, they immediately attracted the attention of the guards, who all raised their guns and aimed at them.
"You can go in, but you have to pay for food, understand?" the burly man in the lead said smugly.
"Understood, understood!" Wang Bin and the other two pretended to be very scared and nodded quickly.
"Come here, and don't try anything funny, or I'll smash your head in!"
"No, no!"
"Open your backpack!"
"These are all our food."
"We know, we know. You want to go in, right? We have to check if you're carrying any dangerous items, right?"
"All right!"
