After killing a few zombies, the three of them moved again. Since they had killed three people before, it would be easy to be exposed if all three of them moved together. So this time, only Guan Xiaoyue took action, while Wang Bin and Officer Miao were responsible for providing cover.
Guan Xiaoyue followed the same method and approached another of Captain Li's men. Her movements were clean and efficient, but unfortunately, she was seen by a volunteer on the other side.
The man was shocked to see Guan Xiaoyue kill one of Captain Li's men. He pointed at Guan Xiaoyue with trembling hands, but was about to speak when Li Dazhu noticed him.
Li Dazhu stepped forward and plunged the dagger in his hand into the man's back.
He saved Guan Xiaoyue, but his actions were witnessed by another person nearby.
The man was trembling with fear, wanting to speak but not daring to.
Seeing this, Li Dazhu glared fiercely at the man, who was so frightened that he took a few steps back, but ultimately didn't shout. Li Dazhu ignored the man and continued killing zombies.
The man breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Li Dazhu neither killed him nor approached him. He then took a few steps to the other side, as he was genuinely afraid that Li Dazhu would kill him to silence him.
Li Dazhu was not a murderer, but he knew that if that person had shouted out, it would have exposed Wang Bin and the others, so he had no choice but to kill that person.
As for the person behind him, it's not that the other person can't kill him just because they've created some distance. He has a dagger in his hand and practiced throwing knives for a while when he was a scout. He's confident that he can kill the other person before they can even speak. However, this would also alert others, creating a deadly loop.
Of course, the most important point is that he is not a murderer; he would not kill innocent people indiscriminately unless he was forced to.
After Wang Bin and his two companions took down two more, the zombies on the third floor were almost cleared out. At this point, Captain Li's men, including himself, numbered only eight.
After clearing out the zombies, Captain Li felt that a few people were missing. Just as he was about to check the headcount, Wang Bin quickly pointed to the boxes in the room and shouted, "There are boxes!"
Where? Where?
"There really is a box!"
"We're rich now!"
"Get out of the way! Get out of the way!"
Everyone was immediately drawn to Wang Bin's shout. Fearing that Wang Bin and his men would take the things inside, Captain Li quickly pushed through the crowd and went over.
After Captain Li instructed his men to keep an eye on everyone, he strode forward and opened the box inside.
"Damn it, it's useless money!"
Upon opening the first box, Captain Li found it filled with neatly arranged banknotes, which enraged him so much that he began to curse loudly.
In the past, he would have been absolutely envious, but now these banknotes are just a pile of worthless paper. Everyone sighed with regret when they heard that they were banknotes.
Captain Li opened the second box, and it was still full of banknotes. He was so angry that he kicked the box.
He opened the third box and found it was full of gold. He wasn't interested in gold, but Master Jin liked it.
Although I'm not entirely satisfied, at least I have something to report to Master Jin.
Then they opened another box, which contained some jewelry, presumably brought in by gamblers as collateral or to pay off debts.
Captain Li opened another box, which turned out to be full of weapons, but they were all pistols.
The next few boxes contained guns, and one of them contained a box full of grenades.
Wang Bin's eyes lit up when he saw the hand grenade. This was a real treasure; they had guns but lacked such powerful weapons as hand grenades.
Wang Bin glanced at Li Dazhu, who nodded knowingly. Then Wang Bin nudged Guan Xiaoyue and Officer Miao beside him, and they quickly understood his intention.
"Haha, this haul is pretty good! Come on over and move these things! Don't you dare keep any for yourselves, or I'll be searching you when I get back!" Seeing so much weaponry, Captain Li felt the operation was worthwhile and immediately ordered everyone to carry the boxes.
Upon hearing that they were to lift the boxes, Wang Bin and the other three immediately went out. Wang Bin and Guan Xiaoyue took the lead in lifting the box containing the grenades, while Officer Miao and Li Dazhu went to lift the box containing the rifles.
Wang Bin and Guan Xiaoyue lifted the box and walked forward. As soon as they left the house and no one was paying attention, Wang Bin quickly reached into the box and instantly stored the grenade inside into his system space.
As Guan Xiaoyue was carrying the box, she suddenly felt it become lighter. She smiled faintly, realizing that Wang Bin had taken all the grenades.
After taking a few steps, Wang Bin smiled and said to Officer Miao, "Officer Miao, my box is light. Let's switch places. You and Xiaoyue can carry it together."
Officer Miao understood and agreed. She switched places with Wang Bin. As soon as she lifted Wang Bin's box, she felt that it was very light. She quickly realized that the grenade had been taken away.
Wang Bin and Li Dazhu carried a box of rifles, and after only a few steps, they reached into the box again. In an instant, the rifles inside were stored in their system space once more.
Li Dazhu, who was walking in front, suddenly noticed that the box was much lighter. He was very shocked, but he still pretended that nothing was wrong and carried the box forward.
Others also carried boxes out, and when Captain Li saw that there were no other valuable items, he led his men out as well.
As he walked, he tripped over a corpse on the ground and almost fell.
"Damn it!"
Captain Li cursed loudly, picked up the torch, shone it on, and immediately cried out in surprise.
"How did Ah Kai die?"
Upon hearing Captain Li's words, several of his men gathered around and were furious to see Ah Kai lying on the ground.
