Chapter 35

Chapter 35

Qiao Yan pushed him away with all her might. Even though the contract with Nan Yayin was initially signed for these reasons, things were wrong now. The timing was wrong, the place was wrong, and the emotions were wrong.

She could feel that this vulnerable period was more ferocious than before, and that beastly nature was finally about to devour her gentleness.

Afraid of hurting him, Qiao Yan closed her eyes and leaned against the car door. "Don't hug me, just give me your pheromones."

She was panting, her cheeks flushed like a rosy sunset, and her eyelashes trembled like raven wings as she breathed.

"She's so beautiful. No Alpha is more beautiful than her," Nan Yayin thought inappropriately.

"Then why did you help me when I was in heat?" Nan Ya Yin ignored her words and recklessly moved closer.

Qiao Yan had nowhere to avoid him, so she helplessly reached out and pushed him away, saying, "Because you didn't take any inhibitors."

Nan Yayin grabbed his hand and moved it up to the back of his neck. Qiao Yan touched a small, damp spot, and seeing him flinch, she quickly withdrew her hand.

"Don't be ridiculous." Qiao Yan looked at the passing street scenes outside the car. "I don't want to die here."

"I'm also afraid you'll die here." Nan Ya Yin moved closer and closer, making Qiao Yan, who was an Alpha in his vulnerable period, seem completely harmless in comparison.

The fertile period and the heat period are completely different. Qiao Yan was already very rational not to bite him, but Nan Ya Yin must have taken the wrong medicine.

He crouched down and stood up slightly from the car, squeezing into Qiao Yan's arms and hugging her. "I'm helping you."

It was truly agonizing. She could smell a fresh, herbal fragrance, yet Qiao Yan felt like she was going crazy. She could only put her hands behind her back and ask helplessly, "Why...why are you hugging me? You clearly...didn't want to..."

Even though Nan Yayin hadn't taken any suppressants, he still smelled the strong, sweet scent of cream, so intoxicating it was almost unbearable.

She wasn't two degrees more rational than Qiao Yan, but she was always stubborn, saying, "Because there's still the balance, and you haven't paid it yet."

He rested his head on Qiao Yan's shoulder, his breath warm against Qiao Yan's neck.

Normally, Qiao Yan might have felt a little disappointed but not angry. However, during her sensitive period, Qiao Yan was not as calm as before. These words were like a bucket of boiling water poured over her head, which provoked her to frown. She laughed angrily, "I remember the contract only required pheromones, not that you should sit on me."

Nan Yayin's pitiful rationality returned a little upon hearing this accusation. He first felt wronged and tried to push her away, but Qiao Yan grabbed him.

"Let me go." He finally sensed that something was wrong with Qiao Yan.

Qiao Yan simply looked up at him and said, "I won't let go. You came here by yourself. I've told you several times to stay away from me."

“You always talk in circles.” The warmth of Qiao Yan’s palm penetrated his shirt, ironing a patch of skin on his waist. “I can’t understand what you mean at all.”

She climbed upwards, as if to cup his face, but stopped halfway, deftly looping her fingers around the last button, feeling a touch of coolness. "You feel so cool."

Nan Yayin grabbed those two hands. "I didn't talk in circles. I just, I just said what I meant."

"Then I can pay you the balance now and let you leave." Qiao Yan wasn't fully conscious; it was just that his pheromones had somewhat relieved his headache. "Is this enough to fulfill what you just said?"

Nan Yayin didn't speak; the hand he was holding remained obediently outside her clothes.

"Why aren't you saying anything? Is it not enough?" Qiao Yan shook off his hand, went behind him, and pressed his back to make him sink down. "Then, 400,000?"

Nan Yayin didn't speak.

"Still not enough?" Qiao Yan looked at him. "50? 60?"

Apart from rapid breathing, there was no sound.

"1 million?"

Nan Yayin thought Qiao Yan had gone mad. What was she talking about? Why was she offering him money to leave?

"Isn't that enough?" Qiao Yan looked at his drooping head, unable to discern his expression. "How much do you want? How much will it take for you to leave me?"

Qiao Yan tilted her head back and suddenly felt a cool sensation on her face, sliding down her nose.

"I just wanted to help you." Nan Yayin leaned on Qiao Yan's shoulder. "I just wanted to help you!"

"Don't you understand that I can't do anything else besides this?" Nan Ya Yin patted her. "I don't even know what you're doing. What else can I do besides help you get through your vulnerable period?"

"I know nothing about your past, what you did." He seemed to be trying to stand up, yet also to lean into her arms. "I want money, I want a lot of money, and I don't want to get it this way, not from you, not..."

That's not how it works...

Qiao Yan was so upset by the tears that she grabbed his waist and made him sit down. When she could finally see his face, which was red from crying, she couldn't wait to kiss the corner of his eye.

"I'm sorry." It seemed like this was the only thing Qiao Yan could say. She kissed his cheek and the tip of his nose, not knowing what the point was, she just wanted to kiss him.

Nan Ya Yin didn't react at first to the kiss; the dense kisses were as numerous as her tears. "What are you doing?"

"I want to kiss you," Qiao Yan said honestly. "May I kiss you?"

She moved much closer, and Nan Ya Yin could see his drooping eyelashes, his intoxicated gaze, and his slightly parted lips. He was only a hair's breadth away from kissing her.

That will stop the crying.

Before he could even say anything, Qiao Yan kissed the corner of his lips; that soft, warm touch was enough to make him forget to cry.

"I don't need your answer." It seems that what Nan Ya Yin said is true: she is childish, which is why she has so many picture books on the bookshelf; she is childish, which is why she can only throw tantrums during her vulnerable period.

Nan Ya Yin failed to catch her, and she was hit right in the bullseye, but she didn't understand anything, she just rubbed her mouth to mouth.

How did things turn out like this? Weren't they still arguing? Nan Yayin stared wide-eyed at Qiao Yan. She closed her eyes, and he shrank back, only to be pressed down by a hand behind his back.

Qiao Yan half-opened her eyes and complained to him, cupping his face to prevent him from looking away, "I don't want money, and I don't want to leave, what do you want?"

Nan Ya Yin covered her mouth, "What are you doing? Why did you kiss me?"

"Because I don't want you to cry." Qiao Yan kissed him, which actually calmed her down a bit.

"Do you find me annoying?!" Nan Ya Yin's heart was pounding so loudly that she was worried Qiao Yan would hear her, so she had to raise her voice.

Qiao Yan didn't like seeing him cry at all; his anger only made him look more radiant. So she bit her lower lip and asked again, "Can I kiss you?"

Compared to Nan Yayin's lack of frankness, Qiao Yan, who has lost his composure, is incredibly straightforward.

"Why did you kiss me!" To prevent her from kissing her again without listening to anything, Nan Ya Yin covered her mouth tightly. "Don't go crazy during your vulnerable period."

"Because I couldn't help it." Qiao Yan pulled his hand down and leaned forward to kiss him again.

Nan Yayin had many questions, such as, "Why couldn't you resist? If you didn't tell me, I wouldn't let you kiss me."

He tilted his head back and felt Qiao Yan kiss his neck. He felt her teeth gently nibbling at his neck and then he knew something was wrong.

Qiao Yan noticed that the scent she liked was even stronger here, and she kissed her way towards it, but Nan Ya Yin's glands hid because of her movements. This forced her to bite Nan Ya Yin's earlobe from a short distance away, and after biting it, she looked up and kissed Nan Ya Yin's earlobe.

Nan Ya Yin was tormented to the point of not knowing what to do. She couldn't push him away or beg for mercy, and to make matters worse, he was also confused. Being caught in this limbo was incredibly frustrating.

"Answer me first." Nan Yayin cupped Qiao Yan's face in her hands.

"What?" Qiao Yan wanted to move closer, but seeing that he wouldn't let her go at all, she could only wait.

"Can't help what?" Nan Yayin asked urgently, as he was thinking of an unbelievable answer.

Just as Qiao Yan was about to answer, the terminal in her pocket started ringing. She didn't want to pay attention to it at all. Just as she was about to say something, Nan Yayin's terminal started ringing again.

Nan Yayin: "..."

He was now the only normal person here. He took the terminal from Qiao Yan's pocket and inevitably had to get close. Sure enough, he was kissed twice more.

"Hello?" Nan Yayin held the terminal in one hand while enduring the torment of Qiao Yan biting her neck.

"Why did it take you so long to answer? I was terrified! I just saw on the news that someone was shot, and I immediately thought you guys had run away." Shu Juan rattled off a string of bubbles. "Where are you? Do you need my help?"

Nan Yayin glanced down at Qiao Yan, who was gnawing on his collarbone, and said, "Don't come, please don't come!"

"Oh, it's good that you're alright." Shu Juan heard Nan Ya Yin's voice and asked naturally, "Where's Qiao Yan? Did the old immortal slip away by herself? Oh no, this is her terminal."

Why didn't she answer the phone? Is she still busy?

Nan Yayin glanced at Qiao Yan, who was "busy," and asked, "Do you want to say a few words?"

Qiao Yan looked up at the terminal when she heard him speak, and said, "Goodbye." Then she kissed his cheek.

"You old lunatic! I'm trying to help you!" Shu Juan yelled into the terminal, but at least she was alright. "Have you encountered any problems over there?"

Nan Yayin found it difficult to speak, but the hovercar had been driving for quite some time and they should arrive soon. "Qiao Yan is in her sensitive period, where should we go now?"

"Damn it!" Shu Juan felt that meeting Qiao Yan was the worst luck she could have ever experienced. She had just finished exclaiming when she suddenly remembered, "No wonder you answered the phone! Oh my god, are you alright?"

"I'm fine."

"Let's drive straight to the basement later. Is it still my car?" Shu Juan turned on the GPS. "I'll have the car go there directly."

"Be careful, her vulnerable period is different from her normal time, she's not as intuitive." Shu Juan said from the side, "She doesn't even know when her vulnerable period is and she still runs out, and with an Omega!"

Qiao Yan found it too noisy, so she reached out and hung up the terminal, throwing it onto the seat in front of her.

"Hey!" Nan Ya Yin was surprised to be hugged by her.

Qiao Yan brushed the stray hairs from his ear, kissed him, and said, "Noisy."

Although it is completely unreasonable, at least it is not aggressive.

"She said you've lost all humanity." Nan Ya Yin chuckled, then remembered something she hadn't answered before, "Why couldn't I hold back?"

Qiao Yan lowered her head sadly, "I remember when you were like this, I would agree to anything you said."

Bringing up old grievances?

"Then tell me and I'll let you kiss me?" Nan Ya Yin leaned closer. "Tell me and I won't stop you."

He spoke to her gently, as if coaxing a child, but Qiao Yan was not a child, so she felt as if he was tempting her to say something nice.

"Because I like you."
