Chapter 1188 Interrogation of Fu Tian

"So, has this guy said anything yet?"

Inside a prison entirely made of spirit-absorbing stones, An Xiaoyu asked a prison guard.

"No way, this guy is too stubborn. He won't confess to the spies planted among the humans no matter what!" The prison guard shrugged helplessly.

"I'll go in and take a look!" An Xiaoyu gestured to the prison guard to open the door.

"General An, who is this?" The prison guard seemed not to recognize Jiang Yuan.

"Huh, they didn't even recognize me?" Jiang Yuan thought to himself, feeling frustrated. He was supposed to be the savior of Dongcheng, so why was his fame so low?

An Xiaoyu saw through Jiang Yuan's thoughts and transmitted her voice, "Your identity has not been made public except for the wartime personnel that night!"

"So what? I'm using a fake identity anyway!" Jiang Yuan wore the 'Aoki' mask, so no one could tell who he was, and he didn't care.

"Don't be careless. The Tianfu spy has already reported back to the Holy Spirit Clan that they have a high bounty on you. It's best to keep your identity a secret, otherwise it will be very dangerous!" An Xiaoyu warned.

"He's my friend, can he come in?"

An Xiaoyu didn't explain Jiang Yuan's identity, but casually mentioned it. Seeing the prison guard hesitate, she tossed out a few Holy Spirit Crystals and added, "Don't worry, I'll take responsibility if anything happens."

"General An, you've misunderstood. That's not what I meant!" The prison guard, having received the money, quickly opened the stone door and let the two in.

"Tsk tsk, I never thought our beautiful An Xiaoyu would also learn to abuse her power for personal gain!" Jiang Yuan clicked his tongue in amazement. He used to think that An Xiaoyu was just a somewhat unconventional female warrior, but now it seems that she does understand human relationships to some extent.

"You can only blame yourself. If you had given me some treasures when we parted five years ago, or a divine medicine master's inheritance like Sister Zhaodi, I wouldn't have to work in this system! Maybe I could have developed a small power by now and support you every day, then you wouldn't have to struggle." An Xiaoyu blinked without any embarrassment.

"It's all my fault, it's all my fault, but can you wait until after the interrogation of Fu Tian is over before you blame me!" Jiang Yuan was in a hurry to get back, he didn't have that much time to waste in Dongcheng, otherwise if he missed this total solar eclipse, he would have to find another way to obtain the Bright Heart, and then the fusion of the light and dark attributes would be postponed indefinitely.

An Xiaoyu pouted, but still led Jiang Yuan into a prison cell made of special materials. Inside the cell lay a young man covered in wounds and barely breathing. Jiang Yuan recognized him at a glance; it was Fu Tian.

"What do the higher-ups want to know from Fu Tian?" Jiang Yuan raised an eyebrow. He had killed the Holy Spirit Clan members while he was on the verge of death, so he hadn't used the Will of Death, which caused him to miss a lot of important information.

"The Holy Spirit Clan's backup plans and the inheritance of formations in the safe zone, and most importantly, since the beginning of the Apocalypse Era, this year is the sixth year. This year is also a turning point in the strategic changes of various races on the battlefield. Therefore, Tianfu wants to know the Holy Spirit Clan's next strategic deployment in Zhongzhou! And these secrets are only known to a few holy sons and daughters. Fu Tian may be one of them." An Xiaoyu whispered, as if afraid that others would overhear.

"Why is this year a turning point?" This was the first time Jiang Yuan had heard this explanation. He only knew that there would be a period of peace after the source was formed, but that would only last for a year or two at most.

“I’m not entirely sure about the specifics either. This is what the Holy Spirit Clan’s decision-makers and the Human Clan’s prophets conveyed. They said that the formation of the God-level Source caused the battlefield to escalate, and after the battlefield escalates, other races will gradually join the war. These other races will fully descend onto the battlefield within five years. Therefore, in order to avoid expending their manpower and allowing other races to gain an advantage during these five years, both races will try to maintain a degree of restraint during this period!” An Xiaoyu explained.

"You mean other races joined?" Jiang Yuan asked, puzzled.

In previous battles, the outcome was decided with a single blow; whatever race arrived at the beginning was the race they were, and there was no reason to add people at the last minute.

“Yes, take Siberia for example. In the past five years, it has been occupied by barbarians. Although their overall strength is not comparable to that of the Holy Spirit Clan and the Human Clan, in terms of strong individuals, the barbarians are in no way inferior.” An Xiaoyu sighed.

"Have the alien races fully arrived yet?" Jiang Yuan asked solemnly. This battlefield was far more unpredictable than the previous ones.

“Most of them have already arrived, but the battlefield hasn’t officially announced it yet. They should stop the influx of foreign races when strange phenomena appear on the battlefield!” An Xiaoyu guessed.

Jiang Yuan asked solemnly, "Are there any alien races within the Chinese territory?"

“Of course! The Imperial Star is not the small planet it used to be. Even though we occupy forty-eight safe zones within the territory of China, we actually control no more than one percent of the territory. There are many places that we want to manage but are currently powerless to do so.” An Xiaoyu’s expression was somewhat indignant. Originally, it was China’s territory, but now it was going to be occupied by races from other worlds. She was furious no matter how she thought about it.

"It seems I'm still too inexperienced!" Jiang Yuan sighed.

After returning from the Blue Hidden Divine Mountain, he traveled between various safe zones, and his only trip outside the wilderness was between Luo City and An City. He had very little understanding of this newly born imperial star.

"It's alright, I'll accompany you to explore all the mountains and rivers of China, and we'll drive those foreign tribes out of our Chinese territory one by one!" An Xiaoyu patted Jiang Yuan's shoulder solemnly. She had long wanted to travel with Jiang Yuan, and she couldn't be happier to make this trip even more meaningful.

"I'll go in and ask him first, see if I can get any information out of him!"

"And what about me?"

An Xiaoyu looked at Jiang Yuan in confusion. Shouldn't this be her mission? Why was this guy excluding her?
