Chapter 1405 Sea Spirit Conch

"This is?"

Jiang Yuan caught the pure white conch shell with lightning speed, causing An Xiaoyu to miss her target and end up making intimate contact with the wall instead of making close contact with it.

"Hmph, you idiot, how dare you refuse me!" An Xiaoyu stood there angrily, her fists clenched, tears welling up in her eyes.

However, Jiang Yuan's attention was completely drawn to the white conch shell. Its natural patterns were like the most exquisite work of art in the world. When Jiang Yuan stared into the inside of the conch shell, he could even hear the sound of the tides.

Sorrow, grief, longing, resolute determination...

All sorts of emotions were contained within this tide. Jiang Yuan, as a listener, was even drawn into those emotions, and it took him a long time to come back to his senses even when An Xiaoyu acted coquettishly in front of him.

"Jiang Yuan, you don't love me..."

Just as An Xiaoyu was about to complain, Jiang Yuan placed the conch shell next to her ear, and the atmosphere between them instantly became a little awkward.

"Is this your way of apologizing?" An Xiaoyu didn't think too much about it; she just assumed that Jiang Yuan was trying to please her, so her expression softened considerably.

"Listen to what sounds are coming from inside?" Jiang Yuan waited hopefully for An Xiaoyu's answer.

An Xiaoyu's expression froze for a moment, but she still closed her eyes and carefully listened to the conch shell by her ear. After a good ten seconds, she opened her eyes and said in a strange tone, "When did you record the sound in there? And when did you become so sentimental!"

All the voices she heard were Jiang Yuan's, and his tone carried an indescribable sadness.

"My voice?" Jiang Yuan pondered for a moment, then said, "But what I heard was the sound of the tides, that ethereal call from the deep sea that can transcend time and space!"

"How is that possible!"

An Xiaoyu didn't believe it and snatched the conch shell to continue listening, but the result was still the same; the voice she heard was unmistakably Jiang Yuan's.

"Could it be that everyone hears something different?" An Xiaoyu trusted Jiang Yuan. Although he could be a bit frivolous at times, he would never joke about something like this.

"Possibly."

Jiang Yuan nodded in agreement. He had been thinking about his resentment at the seaside, which was why he sounded so sorrowful. An Xiaoyu, on the other hand, had been teasing him and only had him on her mind, so this was quite possible.

"Just to be on the safe side, I'll have it checked."

With its power fully activated and aided by a massive amount of Holy Spirit Essence, the Heavenly Eye obtained information from the conch shell.

Sea Snail (partially unsealed): Records the mermaid's final deep-sea call.

The identification results were hasty, as only a name and a brief introduction were given, which even left Jiang Yuan confused. Fortunately, the Heavenly Eye seemed to have activated the Sea Spirit Conch.

"What the hell is that?"

Jiang Yuan had no clue, so he looked down and searched the room, but the resentment had completely disappeared. It seemed that everything was only related to the sea snail in his hand.

"This conch shell is so pretty, can you give it to me?" An Xiaoyu took the conch shell and playfully stuck out her tongue at Jiang Yuan. The pure white color was irresistible to a girl like her.

Before Jiang Yuan could agree, An Xiaoyu had already picked up the sea snail and put it to her ear. After listening for a while, she was still not satisfied and blew air into the sea snail, saying happily, "If my husband is not by my side in the future, I can listen to the sound in the sea snail to relieve my longing."

Jiang Yuan smiled bitterly upon hearing this. He did indeed neglect An Xiaoyu much more than he had with Liu Zhaodi. Even Bu Yao, who was now his enemy, held a similar place in his heart as An Xiaoyu, not to mention when they weren't enemies.

"Is it a human?"

The two had intended to let it go, but when the Sea Spirit Conch uttered its first truly living language, they both froze in place.

"Is it a human?"

The same question arose again from the conch shell.

"Xiaoyu, talk to him." Jiang Yuan gestured to An Xiaoyu not to interrupt the voice. There must be a reason why the Sea Spirit Conch was unsealed, and perhaps this voice is the important information that will appear after the unsealing.

An Xiaoyu's expression turned serious, and she replied, "That's right, I am a human."

"In the seventh year of the Tianqi era, a calamity will occur in the deep sea. At that time, a great sea monster will descend upon the land, and all humankind must retreat thousands of miles away, or face annihilation."

"Um?"

An Xiaoyu looked surprised. She took the conch shell, shook it in her hand, and then put it to her ear.

However, the same words were repeated again.

"Husband?" An Xiaoyu looked at Jiang Yuan suspiciously, wondering, "Are you playing a prank?"

"No!" Jiang Yuan shook his head seriously.

Upon hearing Jiang Yuan's words, An Xiaoyu told him what she had heard. Jiang Yuan then spoke to the conch shell as well, but the voice inside the conch shell seemed to be in a fixed pattern, asking if they were human while warning of the coming deep-sea calamity. It was impossible to achieve any deeper level of communication.

"Could it be because the Sea Spirit Conch is only in a partially unsealed state that it is experiencing one-way communication?" Jiang Yuan said, offering his guess. This explanation also fits the description of the partially unsealed Sea Spirit Conch.

"It must be fake! The human race has retreated thousands of miles, almost abandoning most of Wuzhou. Who would be so foolish as to believe a piece of information from an unknown source and mobilize such a large project?" An Xiaoyu thought it was too fake; it was impossible to believe something without any basis.

"The Disaster of the Deep Sea, the Seventh Year of the Apocalypse!"

Compared to An Xiaoyu, Jiang Yuan hesitated, because his intuition told him that this sea snail had a very deep connection with the resentment outside.

"Don't overthink it. Maybe it's just a prank. Although the battlefield is ever-changing, there are still patterns to follow. How could the monsters in the sea be so strong that they can swallow everything from the ocean to the land?" An Xiaoyu comforted her.
