"What do you want to do?" Jiang Yuan asked, puzzled.
Ning Yanlan remained silent, her spiritual energy emanating from the dog-leg scepter, and then she severed a seven- or eight-meter-long power line.
"It's definitely a trap, otherwise how can we fight them on their home turf!" Ning Yanlan had already grabbed an end of an electric wire, intending to tie it to her dog-leg scepter.
"Jiang Yuan, you're stronger, help me tie him up!"
After several attempts to tie it loosened it, Ning Yanlan handed the item to Jiang Yuan and instructed him, "Tie it tighter, and make sure the copper core inside the wire is wrapped around the sacred scepter."
Hearing Ning Yanlan still referring to it as the sacred scepter, Jiang Yuan silently accepted the scepter and wire, which seemed completely unrelated to the fishing rod.
"Yanlan, what are you using as bait?" Jiang Yuan asked while tying the knot with all his might.
"Ta-da!" Ning Yanlan held a ball of green energy in her hand. "It's the Light of Nature, of course!"
Jiang Yuan: "..."
This was the first time he was impressed by Ning Yanlan's unique way of thinking. "Your stroll is so well-organized. You're carrying weapons, tying wires to them, and even have bait ready. You're a werewolf."
"When my psionic power reached level four, I was able to control the natural light!"
Ning Yanlan took the tied-up 'fishing rod' and activated the dog-leg scepter. A green light appeared from the scepter and slowly entered the end of the wire through the copper core. Finally, Ning Yanlan attached a ball of natural light that she had prepared earlier to the end.
"Alright, doesn't it look like a fishing rod!" Ning Yanlan said proudly.
Holding several coils of wire in his hands, Jiang Yuan revealed a 'convinced' smile, "I worship the master!"
"We'll catch the fish and give them a good beating later!" Ning Yanlan laughed happily, showing no pity for the brutal killing of the monster.
"I don't know if it will work?" Jiang Yuan looked uncertainly at the fishing rod in Ning Yanlan's hand, because the equipment was too rudimentary.
“You’ll know once you drop the wire down!” Ning Yanlan said.
Jiang Yuan glanced at the sharp-toothed fish flying around in the water, then threw out a few coils of wire.
"Forehead!"
The moment he threw it out, Jiang Yuan was stunned because the wire wasn't long enough; the very end was still twenty centimeters below the water's surface.
Ning Yanlan was speechless. Jiang Yuan asked with a distorted expression, "Your sense of distance is terrible!"
The wires were cut by Ning Yanlan using her spiritual energy. Jiang Yuan, who hasn't awakened his spiritual energy yet, can't possibly use such advanced power, so the problem definitely belongs to Ning Yanlan!
"Actually, I did it on purpose!" Ning Yanlan said seriously.
She would rather die than admit that she had included the length of the kukri scepter in the vertical height, only to discover that the kukri scepter was actually laid horizontally, which was different from the fishing rod she had imagined!
Jiang Yuan was about to agree with what a beautiful woman who wasn't good at math said, but then a sudden change occurred.
"ah!"
Ning Yanlan let out a strange cry, and then her body tumbled into the river.
Jiang Yuan immediately grabbed her and looked closely before realizing that the electric wire, which was floating a few dozen centimeters above the water, had been bitten by a sharp-toothed fish that was pulling hard on the wire.
"I'll go ahead and do it!" Jiang Yuan was utterly shocked. Can you guys at least respect your profession? We haven't even started fishing and you've already taken the bait. This is really jarring.
"As expected, as expected!" Ning Yanlan, in her panic, didn't forget to save face. When the shaking became so severe that she could barely control it, she screamed, "Quickly, pull it up!"
Ning Yanlan ate a beef ball, and with her own strength of less than 1.8, she couldn't possibly hold her own against that silly fish, so Jiang Yuan had to step in.
With a whoosh, Jiang Yuan made a move, and the sharp-toothed fish was pulled up like an angry little bird. The basketball-sized fish landed on the muddy ground and fluttered around.
"Again!" Jiang Yuan saw that there was hope. This way of luring monsters was too novel. Moreover, the combat power of aquatic creatures would drop to the minimum when they were out of water. Even an ordinary person with tools could kill him.
Ning Yanlan hurriedly added Natural Light to the wires again, and then flung the wires down once more.
"Huh, why is it shorter again?" Ning Yanlan was dumbfounded; the wire seemed to be five centimeters shorter.
"Could it be that your arms are too short?" Jiang Yuan blurted out.
As soon as he spoke, Jiang Yuan felt an unusual silence in the air, and Ning Yanlan stared at him with a resentful look.
"I'm not saying you have short arms, I'm just implying that you didn't put it down properly!" Jiang Yuan explained.
Ning Yanlan didn't speak, but simply lowered her hand slightly, though it remained about the same distance.
"Huh!" Jiang Yuan then noticed a brand-new cut at the end of the wire. "No way, are the teeth of this sharp-toothed fish really that good?"
“My teeth are great too, do you want to try?” Ning Yanlan threatened, grinding her teeth.
"No, no, no! I've already experienced its power, I don't want to be bitten again!" Jiang Yuan hurriedly said. Last time when he was under superpowered, it was Ning Yanlan who bit him and woke him up, and that feeling was not pleasant.
"Aren't you coming to help me? You've taken the bait again!" Ning Yanlan staggered, about to be pulled into the water once more.
"They're here! They're here!"
Jiang Yuan quickly lent a hand, and they managed to get the second one up.
"I'm exhausted!" Ning Yanlan gasped for breath.
"How about I do it?" Jiang Yuan asked.
Ning Yanlan raised an eyebrow and immediately handed him the fishing rod, "Then you go, I'll applaud and cheer you on!"
Jiang Yuan was dumbfounded the moment he took the fishing rod, because he had no idea how to fish! First, he had no spiritual energy, and second, he had no natural light.
The sharp-toothed fish was after the natural light that Ning Yanlan could control with force, not the electrical wires.
