Chapter 399 Auction Postponed

As Jiang Yuan left the stall, his feelings were complicated. He didn't want to meddle in other people's business and get into trouble, but he felt a bit angry seeing how the middle-aged man treated the old man.

What others see as readily available kinship is something he can never reach or touch in his entire life.

"What's wrong?" Ning Yanlan noticed that Jiang Yuan was acting strangely.

"It's alright, let's skip shopping today!" Jiang Yuan said casually.

“Okay, we’ve been shopping for most of the day, and we’re getting a little tired of it!” Ning Yanlan said, going along with his suggestion.

Jiang Yuan glanced back at the now empty stall, then said, "Let's go. Have Liu Zhaodi arrange a secret room for us. There are some things we need to do!"

"Looking for her again?" Ning Yanlan asked, somewhat reluctantly.

"It's alright, she's very enthusiastic, and if we auction off those treasures this time, our gains won't be less than the last time we got the mine!" Jiang Yuan's eyes were only on the Holy Spirit Stone.

"Alright! But I definitely won't agree to her trying to get me away this time. This woman is two-faced; who knows what she's up to!" Ning Yanlan stated her conditions beforehand.

Jiang Yuan smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry, that was due to the auction rules! We're not auctioning anything now, so we don't need to follow the rules!"

The two went around in circles and returned to the auction house. Just as they were about to go find Liu Zhaodi, Ning Yanlan noticed something was wrong.

“Apostle, look there!” Ning Yanlan pointed to a spot.

Jiang Yuan looked over, but there were too many people at the auction and the flow of people was too fast for the Sky Eye to detect them all, so he didn't find anything.

"What's wrong? Is there a problem?"

Ning Yanlan frowned, then said with a hint of doubt, "My bloodline is fluctuating a bit; something feels off!"

"Bloodline?"

Jiang Yuan pondered deeply. Ning Yanlan's bloodline was currently quite mixed, so it wouldn't be surprising if there were any fluctuations.

“The fluctuations emanating from the ten imperial veins!” Ning Yanlan said solemnly.

"Could it be that the injury is affecting him, causing him to have a hallucination?" Jiang Yuan wondered.

"Maybe, but I still feel something's not right!" Ning Yanlan scanned the area with her Eye of Insight, but this time it returned to normal.

Jiang Yuan reassured him, "Don't worry, with our current strength, there aren't many things that can pose a threat to us!"

"I hope so!" Ning Yanlan looked back again, and felt relieved after confirming that there were no more fluctuations in her bloodline.

Upon entering the auction house, the first thing you see is Liu Zhaodi, who is standing at the counter in a daze, seemingly depressed about something.

Jiang Yuan stepped forward and greeted her, "Miss Liu!"

"Apostle, you've arrived!" Liu Zhaodi shook off her unhappiness, jumped down from the high stool, and greeted him with a smile.

"When does the auction start?" Jiang Yuan asked, glancing at the bustling venue.

"I was just about to talk to you about this!" Liu Zhaodi stepped forward. "The auction was originally scheduled to start at 8 p.m., but it has to be postponed due to special circumstances!"

"Postponed?" Jiang Yuan was puzzled.

"Yes, because of the appearance of a heavyweight item, the auction had to change its opening time at the last minute!" Liu Zhaodi's expression revealed a hint of helplessness.

"What item is so important that the auction needs to be postponed?" Jiang Yuan asked curiously.

Liu Zhaodi looked around to make sure no one was around, then whispered mysteriously in Jiang Yuan's ear.

"What are you doing?" Jiang Yuan took two steps back, looking at Liu Zhaodi warily.

"Because the items being auctioned are of great importance, the auction house hasn't released any information yet, so I have to tell you quietly!" Liu Zhaodi said innocently, though there was a hint of deliberate intent beneath her innocence.

"Is this really necessary?" Jiang Yuan's lips twitched. Why couldn't they just say it directly? Why all this fuss?

"Never mind then, as the person in charge of the auction, I can't bear the responsibility for leaking information anyway!" Liu Zhaodi smiled playfully and obediently stood back a meter.

Jiang Yuan: "..."

“Since Miss Liu wants to tell you her secret, why not listen? It won’t affect our marital harmony anyway!” Ning Yanlan retorted sharply to Liu Zhaodi. “Right, Miss Liu?”

Jiang Yuan felt a chill run down his spine. What was with this intense tension? He couldn't believe he had said anything wrong!

Liu Zhaodi remained unmoved, smiling as she approached Jiang Yuan, "Then Zhaodi will respectfully comply!"

Jiang Yuan was caught between the two women, unsure whether to listen or not.

Liu Zhaodi seemed to see through Jiang Yuan's predicament, walked to his side, stood on tiptoe, and whispered in his ear.

"A coffin?" Jiang Yuan exclaimed softly upon hearing this.

Ning Yanlan, standing to the side, heard those four words clearly, and her face couldn't help but beam with the joy of victory. She thought to herself, "Tch, trying to fight me? Don't you even know whose man you are!"

Liu Zhaodi wasn't surprised when Jiang Yuan called out. She held up her slender finger to Jiang Yuan's lips and said, "Young master, we agreed to keep it a secret. You're putting me in a difficult position!"

"No, is that all?" Jiang Yuan stopped mentioning the name, but pointedly questioned the value of the starting item.

“This treasure is not as simple as you imagine, young master. If nothing unexpected happens, its appearance will cause a sensation throughout the entire South City! However, information about this treasure is only known to the core members of the three major families, and I, Zhao Di, really cannot reveal it to you at the moment!” Liu Zhao Di finished speaking and put her hands behind her back, looking like an obedient girl. “However, I seem to have a detailed document about it in my room. If you are really interested, young master, you can…”

"Alright, let's leave this matter aside for now!" Jiang Yuan found Liu Zhaodi's words increasingly strange, leaving him completely confused. If she didn't want to give him the information, she should have just said so directly, instead of beating around the bush so much.
