Chapter 6 Hero Saves the Beauty

"A woman!"

Jiang Yuan frowned upon hearing this. In fact, he would have preferred that it was a man inside, as men would obviously have stronger fighting power in this situation.

"This monster can't even be killed by guns! Will I, with my weak strength, be instantly killed if I go up against it?" Jiang Yuan was still a little hesitant.

This is no ordinary dog. To put it in perspective, it's as big as a lion. It completely crushes the average person.

"The Type 05 pistol isn't very powerful, and its magazine only holds six rounds. I've already fired four shots and it hasn't even killed a monster. The remaining two shots probably won't be very effective either!" Jiang Yuan thought to himself.

Clanging sounds rang out one after another, and Jiang Yuan realized that several other monsters were attacking the iron gate.

"This is really a dangerous job!" Jiang Yuan was at his wit's end. Everyone here is just an ordinary person, and it's really hard to make a decision when faced with this kind of situation.

"We have no choice but to fight!"

Jiang Yuan knew that if he didn't leave soon, the people inside might really die. It would be better if he hadn't seen them, but now that he had, he couldn't help but feel guilty about turning away. In the end, he still hadn't been able to change his mindset from the past.

A can of meat was taken out, and Jiang Yuan opened the lid and aimed in one direction—another half-open iron gate. "Brother Dog, I hope you retain your nature!"

After saying that, Jiang Yuan threw the can of meat hard into the iron gate. As the can flew through the air, it began to spill out the meat juices, and a rich aroma filled the air.

"Woof!"

The firehound, comparable in size to a lion, twitched its nose, and a monster appeared in the blind spot around the corner.

Jiang Yuan was secretly alarmed. Luckily, he hadn't gone out, or he would have become the monster's meal.

"A Fire Rending Hound after awakening a normal pet dog. It is a Tier 1 normal monster with the talent: Bite and the weakness: waist."

Two more Firehounds appeared, and their information was also captured by the Heavenly Eye. Not to mention the size difference between the former and these two, even a normal monster and an elite monster could give a glimpse of the difference in strength, making the relative strength of the two sides obvious at a glance.

"Woof woof!" The Fire Crack Hound, which had been awakened from a country dog, growled threateningly. The other two dogs returned to the corner to attack the woman with the gun, while it approached the can of meat step by step.

"Woman, you'd better have some use, otherwise I'll have risked my life to save you!" Jiang Yuan put down his backpack, drew his Tang sword, and charged at the largest Firehound as it gnawed on a can of meat.

"Heavenly Eye, combat mode activated!"

A force was coursing through his calves, and his speed surpassed the limits of ordinary humans. He covered a distance of more than 20 meters in just 1.7 or 1.8 seconds without a running start.

With a clang, the iron gate was pulled shut, and Jiang Yuan quickly fastened the bolt. The Firehound inside seemed completely unprepared for this situation. The Firehound, which had swallowed the can and meat whole, was momentarily stunned when it saw Jiang Yuan.

But after the moment of distraction came endless roars, the barking of the dogs almost deafening Jiang Yuan. However, this sturdy iron gate was not something that a monster of this level could destroy in a short time.

Jiang Yuan turned around. At this moment, he felt that he was the only true warrior. That's right, the two fire-split hounds, each the size of a calf, had abandoned the woman inside the door and were now staring intently at him.

"Gurgle!"

Jiang Yuan swallowed hard, suppressing his fear. He knew only one thing: hesitation would lead to defeat, and retreat would lead to death. He had no chance of survival if he faced the situation head-on.

In a fleeting glance, Jiang Yuan also saw the person inside the iron gate opposite. It was a young girl in a police uniform, and just as he had guessed, there was only one person there.

Jiang Yuan had long forgotten his old habit of judging people by their appearance. He only knew that the person opposite him was a girl, and he didn't even know that the girl would come out of the iron gate to help him deal with the two fire-split hounds.

"Woof!"

The two fiery hounds parted to the sides, baring their teeth as they approached Jiang Yuan. Anyone familiar with dog behavior would understand that this was the dogs testing him.

It's true that a dog will rely on its master's power; the more afraid you are of it, the fiercer it will be. Conversely, if you fight it to the death, you might at least be bitten with some backbone.

The Tang sword lay horizontally beside him, but the tip of the sword was pointing diagonally at the same level as the Fire-Splitter Dog's waist.

As the saying goes, "a head of bronze, bones of iron, and a waist of tofu," and the same applies to dogs.

"Waaah!"

The largest Firehound, which Jiang Yuan had locked inside the iron gate, let out a low growl. The other two stopped probing and charged straight at Jiang Yuan, intending to bite him to death.

All the movements seemed to be in slow motion. Jiang Yuan could feel the power in his body gradually recovering, but at the cost of his physical strength being consumed at an exponentially faster pace.

The Tang sword swept across, but the Fire Crack Hound did not expose its weaknesses to Jiang Yuan's attack range. Therefore, when the Tang sword fell, it only hit the head of a Fire Crack Hound. Apart from a bloody mark, the Fire Crack Hound's combat power was not reduced at all. On the contrary, the Fire Crack Hound's ferocity was fully activated.

When the massive body lunged at him, Jiang Yuan was completely unable to fight back; a single impact sent him and his knife flying a great distance.

The other one was even more ferocious, opening its drooling mouth to bite off Jiang Yuan's head.

With a whoosh, Jiang Yuan's head jolted, and with lightning speed, his Tang sword plunged into the Firehound's mouth.

"You want to kill me!" Jiang Yuan didn't know where the strength came from, but he pushed the Tang sword into the mouth of the Firehound with all his might.

The Firehound, which had just been slashed by Jiang Yuan, slapped him on the shoulder with its claws, tearing a large chunk of flesh from his arm.

"Ahh!"

Jiang Yuan roared angrily, then used all his strength to stab the Tang sword through the mouth of the Firehound and into its abdomen, killing the Firehound.

Meanwhile, the other Firehound, which had just scratched Jiang Yuan, had already bitten down, its mouth only a foot away from Jiang Yuan's head. Just when Jiang Yuan thought he had rescued a damsel in distress and ended up in hell, a gunshot rang out, and warm blood splattered from the Firehound's eyes onto his face.
