Chapter 60 Substitute Doll

"Xiao Xin, do you know what this is?"

After playing with Xiao Xin for a while, Jiang Yuan and Ning Yanlan took out a black iron core and asked her about it.

"Is this a Rubik's Cube?" Xiao Xin's first impression was that it was a Rubik's Cube. "But I remember Rubik's Cubes come in all sorts of colors!"

Jiang Yuan smiled faintly, then explained, "You can think of this Rubik's Cube as a treasure chest; you can randomly find things that are useful to you."

"Like Doraemon's magic pocket?" Xiao Xin asked.

“Yes!” Jiang Yuan nodded. “However, the items inside appear randomly.”

"Brother Jiang Yuan, where did this thing come from? Did Doraemon make it?" Xiao Xin asked innocently, her knowledge limited, only knowing how to ask very simple questions.

But Xiao Xin's question caused Jiang Yuan and Ning Yanlan to fall silent.

Yes! Where did this thing come from? Who made it? Why is it here?

They had read the information and only knew that monsters and holy spirits had a chance of producing cores, but they had never explained the origin of these cores.

But everything is related to the gods in the records. The gods shed blood, and eventually someone will have to stand up and face destruction.

Could this be a gift from the gods?

Intuition told the two that this was not so simple. The changes in the world seemed to have transformed Earth into a game arena, but the reality was quite different. This was not a simple data world. In fact, they had their own unique insights into cultivation, a level that a game could never replicate.

"The core technology wasn't created by humans; it was something we achieved through hard work!"

Finally, Ning Yanlan spoke up to explain, "We need to defeat those enemies who want to invade our homeland. This is the spoils of war we obtained from them!"

"Like those bad guys who bully Mom?" Xiao Xin's tone became downcast.

“Yes!” Ning Yanlan nodded solemnly. “This world requires strength to uphold justice, and our opportunity to become stronger lies in this core!”

Ning Yanlan took out a Tier 1 Holy Spirit Stone and handed it to Xiao Xin, "Now you can try to activate this core and take the first step towards becoming stronger!"

Xiao Xin took the Holy Spirit Stone and suddenly felt an urge to place it at the core. She said, "Sister Yanlan, should we put this little stone on that?"

“That’s right!” Ning Yanlan said.

Jiang Yuan did not object to this. Even if he possessed the Heavenly Eye, he would not be so domineering as to keep all the cores for himself. Firstly, it was a first-tier black iron core, and to be honest, he already had a dispensable attitude towards it. Secondly, giving it to Xiao Xin would not be a waste. It would be a very good experience, allowing her to integrate into this magical world more quickly.

As she spoke, Xiao Xin placed the Holy Spirit Stone on top of the core with great anticipation. The Holy Spirit Stone quickly merged into the core, and with a few clicks, a box half the height of a person appeared. This scene frightened Xiao Xin so much that she retreated repeatedly.

"It's alright, this box is what you think of as a treasure chest," Ning Yanlan said gently, holding Xiao Xin's hand.

"Sister Yanlan, this is amazing!" Xiaoxin went from being frightened to being pleasantly surprised in just three seconds. It has to be said that children have a very strong ability to accept certain things.

"Let's go see what's in the box!" Ning Yanlan said with a smile.

Xiao Xin excitedly opened the box, and after rummaging around for a while, she finally let out a happy smile.

"What could it be?" Ning Yanlan was eager to see what treasure Xiao Xin would find.

Xiao Xin slowly crawled out of the box, holding a rag doll in her hand. She said happily, "Sister Yanlan, did you hide this rag doll inside?"

"A rag doll?" Ning Yanlan was both amused and exasperated when she saw what Xiao Xin was holding.

"This core really does produce everything!"

Jiang Yuan also sighed, and he also discovered some patterns. It seems that the core is selective. For example, when Ning Yanlan opened her bloodline last time, there was a very low probability of getting the corresponding exclusive item.

"Heavenly Eye!"

"Substitute Doll, Level: Excellent, can fight in place of its user when infused with soul energy!"

After seeing the results from the Heavenly Eye's analysis, Jiang Yuan suddenly realized that this was an alternative soul energy weapon, just like a psychic energy scepter or psychic energy bracelet.

However, this kind of substitute doll should have many limitations. First of all, its flexibility is far inferior to that of humans and monsters, and as for the material, Jiang Yuan doesn't think it's very strong.

"Sister Yanlan, didn't you put this in?" Xiaoxin asked doubtfully, muttering, "I thought you were just trying to cheer me up with this gift!"

Upon hearing this, Ning Yanlan felt a surge of pity for Xiao Xin, who had a shaved head. She took something out of her storage ring and said, "Actually, I really have a gift for you. Look!"

She waved the thing in her hand and then handed it to Xiao Xin.

"This is... a hat?" Xiao Xin looked at the item in Ning Yanlan's hand.

"This is something my sister picked out after a long time. I originally wanted to give it to you, but when I saw that your hair had been cut, I was afraid that taking it out would make you sad, so..." Ning Yanlan sighed. This was something she had grabbed when she was preparing clothes for herself and Jiang Yuan.

"Thank you, Sister Yanlan!" Xiaoxin happily accepted the hat.

"Try it on!" Ning Yanlan said.

"Hmm!" Xiao Xin put on the hat, looking very much like a boy. She squeezed the doll in her hand and then looked at Jiang Yuan, "Is this a gift from Brother Jiang Yuan?"

Jiang Yuan smiled warmly and then explained, "Brother Jiang Yuan doesn't have that kind of ability, but you can try the rag doll in your hand. It has another very interesting use!"
