Chapter 67 Camp Power

Just as Ning Yanlan was about to smash the two guys, a voice rang out from the Gale Squad's base, and the Gale Cannon seemed to be affected as well, being annihilated by an invisible force.

"Killing is not allowed in the camp, so don't break the rules!"

A gaunt old man walked in from outside the door.

Jiang Yuan subconsciously used the detection skill: "Human, fifth-order soul energy system (mutated), soul energy: 42, talent: spear of war."

"hiss!"

Jiang Yuan was secretly shocked. There was actually a fifth-level expert in this small camp, and his soul energy was already considered strong among the fifth level.

"Yanlan, let's hurry up and leave, this old man is a bit strong!" Jiang Yuan wasn't stupid. He could fight the weak, but he should avoid provoking those he couldn't handle.

"We can't leave!" Ning Yanlan's tone was extremely solemn. Just now, her Gale Cannon was annihilated by powerful soul energy.

"Uncle Li!" Zhu Penghai gritted his teeth and stepped forward to block the withered old man.

The gaunt old man was named Li Tiegen. He was the first to discover this camp. The camp used to be a scrap metal recycling station, and Grandpa Li was the owner of that station.

Grandpa Li was a veteran of the War of Resistance against Japan. Because of the existence of the camp, he successfully awakened his spirit on the first night of the apocalypse. He gained the foundation of a strong person by fighting a bloody battle at the scrap yard on the first night, so he was undoubtedly the number one expert in the camp.

"You little brats don't listen to me anymore, do you?" Li Tiegen looked at Xue Yuanzheng and Qin Shan.

The two men, one in his forties and the other in his thirties, were described as "little brats" by Li Tiegen, while Xue Zhengyuan and Qin Shan, unusually, showed no displeasure.

Xue Yuanzheng respectfully said, "Uncle Li, Zhu Penghai is no longer qualified to occupy the best position in the camp. We don't intend to kill him, we just want to drive him out of the camp."

"Do you think you can decide whether someone is qualified or not?" Li Tiegen's face was kind, but his words were still sharp. "Da Hai has been working with me at the junkyard since day one. We created the camp only to protect those powerless humans, not for you to form cliques here."

"Uncle Li!"

Xue Yuanzheng and Qin Shan only dared to lower their heads and shout a few words.

"Uncle Li, this is my instruction!"

Suddenly, another young man walked in, his eyes filled with contempt as he looked at Zhu Penghai. "Trash doesn't deserve to be in the camp, does he?"

"Fang Rong?" Li Tiegen turned around and looked at the young man.

Jiang Yuan continued with a detection: "Human, fifth-order strength type, strength: fifty-five."

Zhu Penghai's expression changed, and he said in a deep voice, "Fang Rong, I knew you were behind this, but do you dare to disobey Master Li's wishes?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yuan had a strange feeling, as if no one present had been able to truly grasp the young man's strength. He asked Zhu Penghai in a low voice, "Who is this Fang Rong?"

Zhu Penghai explained, "The Fang family of Nancheng has reached the top of the fourth rank in terms of strength, making them the second strongest in the camp!"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yuan understood that Fang Rong, like him, possessed a skill similar to the Concealing Breath Technique, which was why he had hidden his strength.

"I didn't go against Grandpa Li's wishes, I just think that one should enjoy resources according to one's ability, and you!" Fang Rong sneered, "You don't deserve it!"

"Fang Rong, this matter ends here. Everyone, leave the Storm Squad's base!" Li Tiegen said calmly.

Fang Rong smiled slightly, then casually kicked Xue Zhengyuan, saying, "Did you hear me? Get lost!"

Xue Yuanzheng and Qin Shan were ashen-faced, but they didn't dare to argue and slunk away with their men.

“You too!” Li Tiegen looked at Fang Rong.

"Uncle Li, the world has changed. Sticking to your original intentions won't get you far. I hope you'll think carefully about what I'm telling you!" Fang Rong said with a faint smile before leaving.

"Dahai, are you alright?" Li Tiegen asked Zhu Penghai.

Zhu Penghai said with a wry smile, "Thank you for helping me out, Uncle Li!"

Li Tiegen waved his hand, indicating that there was no need to take it to heart. As he walked past Zhu Penghai to Ning Yanlan, the old man smiled and said, "Not bad. I didn't expect that someone other than this old man like me would have such a strong talent!"

"Grandpa, are you...?" Ning Yanlan asked tentatively.

"I'm not that old yet!" Li Tiegen smiled, his face covered in wrinkles. The smile on his face was like an old chrysanthemum, not very pretty but full of friendliness. "Just call me Grandpa Li like they do."

"Uncle Li, what kind of talent are you talking about?" Ning Yanlan pretended not to know, wanting to know more.

"That spirit sword move just now!" Li Tiegen didn't care and continued, "There are always some people in the world who are exceptionally talented, and those who possess talent undoubtedly stand at the top of the Spirit Awakener ranks."

"Uncle Li, how did you know?" Ning Yanlan asked, looking surprised.

“Talent doesn’t use spiritual power or soul power; it requires a purer form of power from the user. So, as long as you pay attention, you can discover the difference between talent and skill.” Li Tiegen had no intention of hiding anything.

"Uncle Li loves mentoring the younger generation, so feel free to ask him any questions you may have." Zhu Penghai said, then winked at Jiang Yuan and Ning Yanlan.

The two seemed lost in thought. Ning Yanlan, who already had some doubts, asked directly, "Uncle Li, what is the purpose of establishing this camp? Doesn't the warlord of Nancheng care?"

"Oh, this!" Li Tiegen smiled faintly. "Since ancient times, the military and the people have been inseparable. The establishment of camps is only to cultivate talents to resist monsters and the Holy Spirit Tide. Why should warlords interfere?"

“But the warlords have changed. They rule the city like kings, do they care about the lives of ordinary people like us?” Ning Yanlan had lived in Nancheng for a period of time. Before the apocalypse, the military and civilians were completely united, but now that power is divided, some people in power have started to have selfish motives. They all want to become the only king in the post-apocalyptic paradise. This is the inevitable result of the imbalance of power.
