Chapter 1 Great Changes in Heaven and Earth

"Earthquake! Earthquake! Run!"

Jiang Yuan sat up in the middle of the night with a start, and before he had even fully opened his eyes, he was already out of bed, slipped on his flip-flops, and was ready to run.

"Xiao Yuan, you're sleepwalking again!"

On the bed opposite Jiang Yuan, a slightly overweight figure turned over, mumbled something, and then fell asleep again.

"Uh!" Jiang Yuan felt a little embarrassed after sensing the quiet atmosphere around him. He took off his shoes and climbed back into bed. "Damn, why am I sleepwalking again? How many times has this happened this month!"

Jiang Yuan climbed back into bed, intending to sleep a little longer, but upon waking, he was wide awake and began to recall the dream he had just had.

"How absurd! How could the world be destroyed!"

Jiang Yuan lay there with his arm as a pillow, "Xuan'er should still be awake at this hour. Let's give her a call and chat."

He opened his call log and dialed the first number, but all he heard was an unreachable message.

"That's strange, could it be a problem with the signal?"

Jiang Yuan said dejectedly, "Our dormitory building is an old-fashioned building from the 1990s. The dormitories are dilapidated, the location is remote, and the signal is particularly bad. There are people trying to steal my signal at this hour. It's unbelievable!"

With no other option, Jiang Yuan got up and went to the balcony to try again, but his phone still showed an unreachable message.

"Could it be that Xuan'er's phone is off?" Jiang Yuan couldn't help but wonder. "It shouldn't be. There's a two-hour time difference; she probably hasn't fallen asleep yet!"

"Let's try the rooftop!"

As he spoke, Jiang Yuan left the dormitory and headed straight for the rooftop. Because of his long-distance relationship, he often called at 11 or 12 o'clock. In order not to disturb his roommates' rest, he developed the habit of going to the rooftop to make phone calls.

I skillfully pushed open the wooden door. The night sky was as deserted as the road at that moment, with only a few stars twinkling in the sky besides the moon.

"Try again!"

Jiang Yuan dialed the number again, completely unaware of the changes in the night sky as he waited.

...

The same scene is playing out in several secret camps around the world.

"Report, this is the last image sent before the satellite malfunctioned." A dark-skinned, muscular soldier handed over a color image, which looked glaringly bright in the dim light of the emergency lights.

A middle-aged man in a military uniform, looking dashing and spirited, gazed at the dark sky and sighed, "Is this the reason for this total lunar eclipse? The prophet was right, it seems the world is about to change. The wonders of nature are truly unimaginable!"

The photo clearly records the cause of this total lunar eclipse: a colossal gate, exuding a magnificent and sacred aura, silently spanning between the Earth and the Sun, with countless streams of light flying towards Earth from within the giant gate.

The general was still reeling from the shock. He stared at the golden gate on the map and said in a heavy voice, "Request the highest level of authorization to activate Project Noah."

...

"Still can't get through?"

Jiang Yuan was somewhat disheartened, and just then he looked up at the sky, exclaiming, "What the hell is going on?!"

As the full moon in the night sky was slowly swallowed by darkness, Jiang Yuan asked in confusion, "Is there a lunar eclipse tonight?"

In the blink of an eye, the entire full moon was swallowed up. At that moment, Jiang Yuan's heart trembled, and an unprecedented feeling surged into his heart.

"That's the dream!" Jiang Yuan exclaimed in astonishment. He looked up again and said, "Next, there were shooting stars everywhere!"

As if to confirm Jiang Yuan's words, the dim night sky was lit up at this moment, and countless shooting stars streaked across the sky, heading straight for the vast earth.

"Another earthquake!"

Jiang Yuan muttered to himself, forgetting to run away. Clearly, the shock in his heart prevented him from making the right choice immediately.

Crack! Huge cracks appeared in the ground, and the entire building began to shake, but Jiang Yuan was completely unaware. He simply looked at the night sky and said, "The last one is the Golden Gate!"

At this moment, the entire world was plunged into an indescribable sense of oppression.

"Golden Gate!" Jiang Yuan's phone slipped from his hand, and he was completely stunned.

A burst of light appeared, and a gigantic portal, seemingly spanning the heavens and earth, appeared beyond the sky.

"Am I sleepwalking again?" Jiang Yuan stared blankly at the golden gate, but his question was answered the next second.

Bang! Jiang Yuan's consciousness wavered for a moment, and warm blood flowed all over his face.

"This is not a dream!"

While Jiang Yuan was unconscious, he tightly grabbed the culprit that had caused his unconsciousness: the seven-colored Rubik's Cube on the ground! It was a meteor ejected from the Golden Gate, but for some reason it was heading straight for Jiang Yuan's head.

...

The beginning of the last calendar

"The gears of fate have already turned; life and death are uncertain, and destiny is ordained by God."

The eternal sun and moon have vanished, and suspended in the air is a massive golden gate, radiating even greater light and heat. Most remarkably, a mysterious aura emanates from the golden gate, and the surviving beings experience a significant improvement in their physical condition within this aura.

The meteor shower swept the globe, and those who witnessed the meteors falling up close described various scenes. Some said the meteors formed a palace, while others said they formed a fortress. However, the most fortunate thing was that the meteors seemed to have a mind of their own, and they fell more often in desolate mountains and unknown, mysterious areas, thus avoiding greater human casualties.

Humanity's despair did not end there. The buildings formed after the meteors fell were teeming with all sorts of monsters. In less than three days, the disaster had spread to every corner of the world, and no living being could escape it.

The once bustling streets are now filled with chaos, with car wrecks from the explosions everywhere. Even the once crowded shopping malls are now deserted, with only a few irritable cats and dogs around.
