A group of men from the Green Wood Gang rushed out, each wanting to kill Jiang Yuan. They did so not for any other reason than because of their leader's desperate cry of "Holy shit!"
The eldest brother was furious, and the younger brother suddenly realized the truth.
As the younger brother, I have a firm grasp of this.
"Holy crap, I'm talking about negotiating!" Song Xiangming wondered if his underlings had lost their minds, why were they resorting to violence at the slightest disagreement.
"Did you hear that? The boss said to hell with negotiations, let's just go for it!"
Someone shouted angrily, and then Song Xiangming's voice was completely drowned out by the shouts of hundreds of people.
"See? Sometimes only violence can solve problems!" Leng Yue stepped forward.
"I didn't want to fight amongst ourselves, but now it seems I have no choice but to kill someone!" Jiang Yuan threw out the Heavenly Soul Child to protect Ning Yanlan, while he took out the God-Slaying Spear, which trembled and yearned for battle.
"Kill the men, capture the women alive!"
One by one, the members of the Aoki Gang stepped forward, each eager to claim the credit, completely unaware of the strength of their opponents.
The first man rushed forward, aiming his weapon straight at Jiang Yuan's head. Jiang Yuan didn't hold back either, thrusting his spear straight into the man's abdomen.
A third-tier person couldn't withstand his casual shot at all. Even when he pierced through both the front and back, he didn't go all out, just knocked him unconscious with a back sweep.
Compared to Jiang Yuan's gentleness, Leng Yue seemed to have an excessive killing intent. With the Lightning Mark activated, her attack speed was so fast that no one below the fifth rank could react in time, and almost everyone she attacked was killed instantly.
"So that's how the Lightning Mark is used!" Jiang Yuan exclaimed in amazement at Leng Yue's attack speed, which was so fast that even he could hardly see it. The Lightning Mark was designed to boost speed, and it was hard to imagine how monstrous it would be when combined with Leng Yue's speed.
The battle began, and the members of the Aoki Gang were already enraged, refusing to back down even though someone had just died in front of them.
However, such a battle posed no pressure for Jiang Yuan, and even his bloodlust could not be activated. Gradually, he stopped holding back and killed anyone who dared to attack.
"Waaah—waaah"
When more than forty members of the Greenwood Gang had died, a slow but loud alarm sounded over Camp 39, instantly enveloping the entire mountain town in its siren.
"The beast tide, the beast tide is coming again!"
Jiang Yuan and his group didn't know what the alarm meant, but when the Green Wood Gang members heard the sound, they all turned pale and lost all will to fight Jiang Yuan and Leng Yue.
"Men of the Green Wood Gang, hurry to the front gate, to the front gate!" Song Xiangming shouted almost hysterically.
No one objected; even the wounded struggled to leave quickly.
Song Xiangming glanced at the forty-odd corpses on the ground, then said with hatred, "You just wait, the Green Wood Gang swears to kill you all!"
At this moment, Song Xiangming showed no fear of Jiang Yuan. Jiang Yuan had killed so many of his brothers, and even if Jiang Yuan was powerful enough to kill him instantly, he would not be afraid.
"I'll be waiting!" Jiang Yuan said calmly.
Song Xiangming led all the surviving members of the Green Wood Gang away. The fighting had stopped only because of the beast tide, and they should feel fortunate because if it weren't for the beast tide, they would all have died here.
"The beast tide is coming!" Leng Yue said, picking up the Holy Spirit Stones from the corpses on the ground. "I didn't expect the people here to be so conscientious, putting aside their hatred to fight off the beast tide first!"
"Perhaps the destruction of Camp Nine taught them a lesson! When the nest is overturned, no egg remains intact. Under a massive beast tide, an individual's strength is always insignificant!" Jiang Yuan stared at the foot of the mountain, where the beast tide stretched as far as the eye could see.
He had witnessed the beast tide twice, and both times it shocked him. The sheer number of monsters could crush any undefended city.
"Let's go help them!" Leng Yue suggested.
Jiang Yuan shook his head and looked at Ning Yanlan, "You go, I'll stay here with her!"
Leng Yue stared straight at him, then quietly left with a flick of her hand.
Ning Yanlan tried to stop her, but she was too fast and could only watch her leave.
"Let's go back to sleep!" Jiang Yuan put away the Heavenly Soul Child and then picked up Ning Yanlan in his arms.
“Jiang Yuan, we…” Ning Yanlan hesitated, knowing Jiang Yuan’s predicament.
"The world keeps turning no matter who's gone, it doesn't need me!"
Jiang Yuan gently kissed her forehead, then solemnly said, "But you are different. I can't function without you!"
Ning Yanlan smiled tenderly and did not force Jiang Yuan to resist the beast tide.
"Yanlan, your milk tea is ready!" Wen Manqing also heard the alarm. Having spent more than ten days in Refugee Camp No. 3, how could she not know what the sound meant?
"Thank you!" Ning Yanlan said shyly as she got down from Jiang Yuan's arms.
"I wonder if we can survive this beast tide!" Wen Manqing said with melancholy.
"The people in both camps can hold out!" Jiang Yuan wasn't so pessimistic. There were over 100,000 people who had escaped from Refugee Camp No. 9, plus the hundreds of thousands of people already in Refugee Camp No. 3. They could definitely withstand a beast tide.
"God bless humanity!" Wen Manqing prayed, clasping her hands together.
"Don't worry too much!" Ning Yanlan also reassured her.
“My sister and brother-in-law live in Camp Nine. Someone used a drone to capture the final scene of the beast tide engulfing Camp Nine. I never want to relive that scene again in my life!” Wen Manqing felt powerless as she said these words. She was just a first-level Spirit Awakener. In the face of the monster beast tide, she was not even a small ripple.
Jiang Yuan remained silent. When they arrived at Refugee Camp No. 9, all the corpses had already been cleared away by the undead earthworms, so they couldn't see any horrific scenes, but they could imagine them.
